WOW! Look what’s going on over at CAS(E) this sketch this week. Leigh’s sketch got everyone’s creative juices flowing, and the designer’s projects are gorgeous!

TaeEun is the guest designer, and her project knocked my socks off! Would you like to see it?

I love the white, die-cut foliage on the sunset colored background, and I was inspired to make something similar. Here it is:

Since I’m in my Christmas card making mode, I thought the Pretty Pines Thinlits would give me the white, die-cut pieces I needed.

I chose three colors of ink for my background, (Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive) and experimented a bit before coming up with a look I liked.

My method: I blotted a Baby Wipe on the three ink pads and transferred the color to a piece of cellophane. I spritzed this with water, and placed my Thick Whisper White card stock on top of it. I lifted it , and dried it with the heat tool. It curled a bit, so I placed it under a heavy book, while I finished the sentiment.

I stamped Merry Christmas from the Star of Light stamp set in Basic Black, and used the Bunch of Banners die for cutting, scissor snipping one end to be flush with the edge.

Three, white sequins were the final detail.

The entire time I was making this card, I kept this week’s Tic Tac Toe challenge in mind. How about the left row down?

It may be a stretch, but this is what I came up with. The greens are “vibrant” against the white, sequins are “circles,” and the pine boughs are “stripes.” Oh, and I can throw in my “black” sentiment for good measure.

I just love these challenges, and now I have a new Baby Wipe/cellophane/spritzing method that I can use again. Thank you for all of your inspiration!
