I get a thrill from designing totally unique cards every single time. But, there are elements that are worth repeating, like stamping this Christmas tree (Lovely As A Tree stamp set) on Merry Music Designer Series Paper.
This is the card I made a couple weeks ago, and I stamped the tree in Old Olive:
Today, I stamped the tree in Tranquil Tide:
This is the perfect color for a pine tree, and I can even smell the wonderful fragrance. Maybe because it’s closer to Christmas?
Further inspiration for today’s card was provided by Freshly Made Sketches:
You can see the rectangle that was immediately filled with my musical tree. I decided on a card base of Tranquil Tide, layered with Whisper White. After looking through Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper, I chose a Real Red gingham check for the background.
Now for that cute, little circle in the sketch. I repeated the music on Basic Black, and two Circle Punches made easy work of it. The 1 3/8″ punch for the music, and the 1 1/2″ punch for the Basic Black, gave just the right size border. I found the reindeer and tree in the Carols of Christmas Bundle, and die cutting them took no time at all.
I don’t know what I’d do without the Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiments! I stamped “Merry Christmas” in Basic Black, punched it out with the Classic Label Punch, and nailed it down with two Black Rhinestone Jewels.
Once the decisions are made, this card doesn’t take much time. I may end up making a quantity of these by changing the music and the background.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you enjoyed seeing my tree of a different color.
