Here comes the Little Drummer Boy! I thought my project was complete without him, but he marched on there right before I snapped the photos. He has a stamp and die in the Musical Season Bundle, which I had on my work table for the Treble Clef, so I couldn’t stop him. I decided he could stay as long as he was happy being a Basic Black silhouette.
I began this project by stamping the Christmas tree from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set in Old Olive on Merry Music DSP. I framed this in Basic Black cardstock, matching the card base.
I wanted to use the color scheme from this week’s Global Design Project challenge, so chose a piece of Old Olive from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.
I had the Basic Black and Old Olive covered, so I needed Gold. I first cut the Treble Clef from Gold Foil, but I preferred the subtle effect of it in Old Olive. The sentiment would be my gold, and I die cut “merry” from Gold Glimmer Paper, backing it with Basic Black so it would stand out.
There’s no question, this is a holiday card. I really like the sophistication of this color combo. I added dimensionals for extra pizazz.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’ll be posting again this afternoon in Kylie’s Bertucci’s International Highlights. Please come back to see the wedding and shower invitations I made for my daughter.
I love this card! ?
Thank you, Sue! I’m so glad you found my blog!
Drummer boy’s decision to step onto the musical score was the right one – it’s perfect! And, for your part, using the treble clef as a border was genius!
Hi Debi! The Little Drummer Boy told me to use the treble clef as a border, but thanks for trying to give me the credit!
Then I’m glad you didn’t march to the beat of another drummer. 🙂
I love your comments, Debi!
