This week’s challenge at Global Design Project is a theme: rain/rainbow. I used New Horizons Designer Paper to create a rainbow (literally) in the sky.
I began with a watercolored scene, 5 1/4″ X 4″, glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Rainbow Wishes
The New Horizons paper is so gorgeous, I’m saving every little scrap, which I used for the lettering. I cut the word “rainbow” with Playful Alphabet Dies from 1″ (approximately) pieces of designer paper, adhered to Foam Adhesive Sheets.

After running the letters through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, I carefully removed them from the dies, peeled the backing, and adhered them to the card front in an arch.

All that remained was the sentiment, which I found in the Special Moments Stamp Set. I masked “best,” and stamped “wishes” in Memento Black Ink on New Horizons DSP. Then, I used a Stitched So Sweetly Die for cutting, attached it with Dimensionals, and my “Rainbow Wishes” card was complete.

My March Host Code Gift
Just type the current host code (found beneath my profile picture) in the box provided, on your order of $75.00 or more, before tax and shipping, and I will send you the Checks & Dots Embossing Folders in April. They are perfectly sized to fit the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine that is 20% off the month of March.

I’m vacationing in the desert in March and April, but I have my Stampin’ Up! supplies, and I’ll continue working (playing).

I love this beautiful rainbow card. Very clever to diecut the letters in order of rainbow colors. Enjoy your day!
Thank you, Hilda! It was fun to do!
