Today is a special day, because this is my first design as a “Surprise Party Guest” at Seize the Birthday! I’m very honored to have this two month invitation.
My first design incorporates the topping, “sunshine.”
Ahhh, there’s nothing like the feeling of swinging. And, barefoot in the sunshine adds to the joy!
The Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set was my #1 pick from the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I adore the artwork, and the versatility within the stamp set, where I found this adorable, swinging, girl. I stamped her in Night of Navy Ink, along with “Happy Birthday,” using the Stamparatus to get the nice, deep, color.
Along with the stamp set is a fabulous, Sweet Silhouettes Die Set. Isn’t this tree gorgeous? It was very easily cut , using the die, from Whisper White cardstock. I used tiny dots of liquid glue to adhere it to the background.
Hours could have been spent creating the background, but I’ll let you in on a secret; I simply cut a section of the coordinating, 12X12, See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper.
All I did was make sure the sun was where I wanted it.
You can see details of the products I used by clicking on the pictures in my Product List, where you’ll be in my store for purchasing. If you purchase the stamp set and dies in the bundle, you’ll save 10%.
Thank you for visiting! Please come by Seize the Birthday to see how the designers used sunshine in their birthday cards. Then, join in the fun by posting your card in the gallery!

Beautiful card! I love the silhouette stamp and the die-cut tree. I thought that you had used Brushos on the background–can’t believe that is patterned paper! Thank you for sharing the details.
This was also my #1 pick in the new catalog. You did a fantastic job on this card. I will be showing it to my customers that don’t like to color. Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant use of the DSP, thank you for sharing the idea!
Thanks for playing with us as our Surprise Party Guest for the next two months. Your first card is just a fun peek at your work. I love that you used part of a 12 X 12 paper to make that gorgeous background. I have a lot of that to use up and this is a great way to do that. I really like the fun feel that your card brings to me. Barefoot and all is the way to go. Looking forward to seeing more of your creations.
