Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the Pals have been busy creating cozy, frosty, whimsical card ideas and paper crafts for our Winter Wonderland theme, using our favorite Stampin’ Up! goodies. Each project brings a different twist, and if you’re looking for inspiration, this hop is for you!

I began my Winter card by stamping Delicate Pines snowflakes in Balmy Blue Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used their dies for cutting. A three-piece snowflake was layered, with Dimensionals, on the card front, and a two-piece snowflake was glued flat, on the inside.

Snowflake Flap Fold

The “Flap Fold” with created with Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 4 1/4″, scored at 3″. For the background, I used the “smooshing” technique. This was done by stamping a Balmy Blue Ink pad on the Stampin’ Glass Mat. Then, I spritzed the ink with water, and dabbed Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″ in the watered ink. After letting it dry, under the weight of a large Acrylic Block, I cut two pieces with the fourth largest Textured Notes Die. One was glued to the front flap, and one on the exposed “inside.”

Next, I cut leaves and pinecones from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Paper. I layered the leaves for thickness, and glued them in place, prior to attaching the snowflakes. Then, the pinecones were tucked in place.

I used the same Textured Notes Die to cut a third piece from Basic White Cardstock for the inside. I was careful to match the “inside” snowflake to the “front” snowflake while gluing, so it is hidden when the card is closed.

The sentiment, “warmest Winter wishes,” is from the Delicate Pines Stamp Set. I stamped it in Pretty Peacock Ink on Basic White Cardstock, used the smallest Textured Notes Die for cutting, and glued it in place. After adding some Traditional Sparkling Sequins, my card was complete.

Keep the inspiration going! Follow the lineup below to hop through each blog and enjoy every beautifully frosty idea.
And stick around — next month we’re creating for the “Something New” theme, and you won’t want to miss it!
