A year ago, I hung a different heart from this branch, so you could say, I’m “casing” myself.

Snowy Day Warmth
If you’re curious, this is last year’s card:
Claire’s challenge for this week is a “Snowy Day,” while keeping it clean and simple.
I was captivated by the wintry scene in the photo, and decided to use the colors of gray, white and brown. Smoky Slate cardstock would be the card base, topped with Smoky Slate DSP from the Neutrals 6X6 collection for my “open space.” The second to largest Rectangles Stitched die was used for cutting my snowy background.
I cut my branch with a Seasonal Layers die from Wood Textures DSP, adding a second layer for thickness, and a third layer of Whisper White cardstock for the snow you see piling up on it.
The heart was cut with a Be Mine Stitched die from Sparkle Glimmer Paper, which I hung through the branch before gluing both to the background. And, the heart really shines, just like the sun coming through the trees in the photo.

Maybe I was seeing the red “Paper Players” above the photo, but I decided my project needed a red bird. I used Real Red cardstock to cut the bird from a Botanical Tags die, and she flew to her spot on the branch.
The sentiment, “your friendship warms my heart,” is from the recently retired, Spirited Snowmen stamp set, and cut with a die from Bunch of Banners. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink to match the branch.
I decorated the envelope flap with a striped piece of DSP from the same Neutrals 6X6 collection.

There you have it, clean and simple! I’m looking forward to seeing your snowy day projects in our Paper Players gallery. Thanks so much for paying me a visit. I hope this warms your heart!

Looking at Pinterest, it was hard to find a “nice” tasteful card.

I’m bad about commenting, but I love your creations and visit your blog regularly. However, I just had to leave a comment for this beauty. Gorgeous and stunning. Great layout and colour choices. I especially love how you created the snow detail on the branch. So simple, but it creates such visual interest.
