Today’s Tropical friendship card was designed with two challenges in mind.

Tropical Day
Fab Friday for the sketch.
Global Design Project for the colors.
I chose the Tropical Chic stamp set, because I could imagine it in these pretty, bright colors. I began by stamping the flower in Pineapple Punch ink on Whisper White cardstock. The Tropical die set has a die for cutting the three flowers. The set also has a die for the ferns, which I cut from Coastal Cabana cardstock. I used a Rectangle Stitched die to cut a Thick Whisper White background for the flowers and ferns, which I raised on Foam Adhesive Strips. The ferns are glued flat, and the flowers are on dimensionals.
TIP: The middle flower is on two dimensionals (stacked) for greater height.
The background on the cardbase is a layer of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Basket Weave embossing folder, and glued showing the debossed side.
I brought Gorgeous Grape to the scene with some striped 6X6 Designer Series Paper, which I cut with a Rectangle Stitched die. The same 6X6 pack was used for the larger, dotted banner in Coastal Cabana. I cut a piece, 4″ X 1″, and used the Banner Triple Punch for cutting.
TIP:The Banner Triple Punch is great, because it gives you perfectly cut banners in three widths: 1″, 1 1/2″ and 2″.
The sentiment, also in Gorgeous Grape, is from the new, Good Morning Magnolia, stamp set. It was sitting on my work table, because I just received it, and “Enjoy Today” was the right size and sentiment for this project. Don’t you agree?
The five, tiny pearls were the finishing touch.
This Tropical Chic Bundle is carrying over into the new catalog, which makes me very happy. I have it listed separately in my Product List, but, if you love it, buy it now for a 10% discount. After June 3rd, the stamp set and dies will only be sold separately. The bundle number is 148399.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Enjoy today!

Happy, cheery and FUN! I love that little pop of purple, too. Perfect!
Love this card, Su, using the debossed side of the basket weave EF. In a card class yesterday, we were noticing how pretty both sides are. It was fun to see how you used it this morning. Great take on the color combo for this challenge. Enjoy your day!
Ty for all your details on all your cards you post. Lovely cards you make. I really enjoy your posts.
You are very welcome, Jo-Anne. It makes me happy that you enjoy my posts. Thank you for telling me!
Beautiful, Su! I’ve started trying to show off this set, too – love your colors and your take on our sketch! And how brilliant to show the deboss side of that EF – love it! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
Thank you, Heather! Your challenges provide lots of inspiration!
