A vellum daisy is just what this card front needed to go with the Pressed Petals Designer Paper.

Vellum Daisy
I began with a Crumb Cake card base, and trimmed an inch “off the edge” of the card front. To give the opening added interest, I used the scallop edged die from the Be Mine Stitched Die Set.
Now that I had this “peek-a-boo” opening, I covered the “right” inside with beautiful, floral, Pressed Petals Designer Paper. The “left” inside is blank, for a personal message.

I covered the front with solid burlap paper, also Pressed Petals DSP. To match the daisy on the floral paper, I used vellum to keep the petals light and airy. Using the stamp from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set, I stamped two rounds of petals in Daffodil Delight Ink. Then, I cut the petals with the larger Daisy Punch, and attached them with Dimensionals.
TIP: Ink takes longer to dry on vellum, so allow extra drying time.
I made the daisy center with a die from the Magnolia Memory Die Set, and burlap, Pressed Petals DSP. The stem was made with a die from Sweet Silhouettes, and the leaves from Bouquet Bunch; both cut from Mossy Meadow Cardstock.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede Ink on the burlap DSP. I used a layering Ovals Die for cutting, and placed it on Dimensionals.

My idea for trimming “off the edge” of the card front originated with the challenge at Seize the Birthday. It’s fun playing along with “anything goes,” but for an extra challenge, I like to try the “toppings.”
