Washi Tape is something I don’t often use, but the colors of green and yellow in this Basic Packs 2 were irresistible. When I saw this week’s Global Design Project #94, I knew how I would use them. The five different tapes would go horizontally across a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock. I chose Lemon Lime Twist for the card base and “paired” it with “Pear” Pizazz, embossing it with the Layering Leaves embossing folder.

I adore our little, backward girl from Birthday Delivery, and could see her in my Washi Tape garden scene. I stamped her in Always Artichoke on Whisper White, and cut her out with the die that comes in the set. I was taken back to my childhood while hand cutting her yellow, polkadot dress, remembering the hours I spent playing paper dolls. I used Watercolor pencils for her hair and socks, and she was ready to be placed in the garden scene. I wanted her to be holding a long stem, which I found in the Balloon Pop-Up thinlit dies. Rather than a flower, I decided on this beautiful heart from the Ribbon of Courage set. I stamped it in Daffodil Delight to coordinate with her dress.

I chose the words she wanted to say, “Hello,” “Grateful,” and “For You,” from the At Home With You stamp set, and cut them out with the coordinating die. She is standing in branches from an Eclectic Layers die, which were doubled for durability. With everything glued and popped up on dimensionals, her garden was complete.

This little girl makes my heart happy, and for all of you reading this, she is grateful.

That is an adorable card and the little girl is so sweet. Polka dots make nearly everything look better. I also have many memories of playing with paper dolls and stored them in cardboard shoe boxes.
Yes, many boxes. I was a box hoarder, and stashed them under my bed. I couldn’t let a box go to the trash, because I knew I’d find something to go in it. Paper dolls, for one thing!
Adorable scene, Su! I love the washi tape used for garden rows. I see peas, cukes, summer squash, broccoli and celery. And that yellow polka-dot dress… Perfect!
Thanks Debi! We have the same sight!
Su, you do the most adorable cards with this set! And the way you’ve paired it with several other products, it is fabulous!
Thanks Karen! I really appreciate the compliments! And, the little girl is very grateful!
