This week’s Global Design Project is a Winter theme. Winter is still a month away, but I’ve seen snow on the local mountains, and it definitely gets you in the mood for Christmas.
To begin my wintry design, I used a Decorated Pine Die to cut from Garden Green Cardstock and Basic White Cardstock. By gluing the white die-cut on top of the green die-cut, it created a snow-covered bough. It doesn’t show in the photo, but the pine bough is glistening from brushing with Wink Of Stella. There’s a description of this brush in my Product List below.

Winter Pine Boughs
Beneath the pine bough is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the third largest Deckled Rectangles Die. Before gluing it to the layer beneath, it was embossed with a Wintry Embossing Folder. The layer beneath is a pattern of Painted Christmas Designer Paper, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. And, this layer is glued to a Soft Succulent card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
The sentiment is from the Perched In A Tree Stamp Set. I stamped it in Evening Evergreen Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, and used the Double Oval Punch for cutting. After attaching the Soft Succulent Satin Ribbon to the back with Glue Dots, I attached it with Dimensionals.
For a little more sparkle, I added four For Everything Fancy Sequins.
See how our designers used the Winter theme, then create your own card, and hang it in our gallery.
