Good Monday morning! Today’s Christmas card was inspired by two challenges, which you’ll see at the bottom of my post.

Elevated Joy
I began by using a Rectangles Stitched Die to cut the a rectangle of Wrapped In Plaid Designer Paper. This was backed with Shaded Spruce Cardstock, before cutting the oval with a Stitched Shapes Die.
Next, I used a smaller Rectangles Stitched Die to cut a rectangle from Thick Whisper White Cardstock. This white piece was glued to the Shaded Spruce card base. Then, the plaid piece was placed on Adhesive Foam Strips atop the card base, creating nice elevation.
TIP: The Adhesive Foam Strips are twice as thick as the Dimensionals.

I used the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies to cut the word “joy” from Gold Foil. The letters were double layered, so they would be sturdy over the oval opening. The “o” is glued directly to the white Cardstock, while the “j” and “y” are bridged over the opening.
TIP: I was careful to glue only the portions of the letters that would be attached.

The sentiment, “May this special season be wrapped in love & joy,” is from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set. I stamped it in Shaded Spruce Ink, and used a Merry Christmas Die for cutting.

Here are the two challenges I used for inspiration:

A very nice card! Thanks for all the instruction to the cut out dimension.
Love this card Su. I want to make one using each of the wrapped in plaid papers.
I love your card. The simplicity of the design lets the message take center stage. I like that you have used the Hand Lettered Prose dies. I have not purchased them yet, but you have convinced me that I need to.
