Spring is around the corner, and butterflies will be filling the air. In fact, right now, they are flying in from Butterfly Bouquet, and can’t wait to land on your cards! You can see details of the Butterfly Brilliance Collection in my Product List below.
Today’s card has a beautiful butterfly in the colors of Poppy Parade and Magenta Madness, cut from the Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper, with a Brilliant Wings Die. I used a second Brilliant Wings Die to cut wings from Vellum, which I glued to the body. This softens the look, and adds dimension, don’t you think?

Butterfly & Lace
For the background, I used the large, Stitched Lace Die, which hasn’t seen action for a while. After cutting the large, lace piece from Basic White Cardstock, I used the long, skinny, edge die to trim the four sides.
Next, I layered the lace rectangle on Basic White Cardstock that was cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. Prior to gluing to the Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), I added black ribbon that was in the Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin Kit.
“Easter Blessings” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with a Stitched So Sweetly Die. Opal Rounds finished off my second Butterfly Bouquet card. More to come!
I gave lots of details about Butterfly Bouquet with my first card. Clicking the card will take you to my blog post.
My layout was from the Paper Players.

Su this is beautiful and such a lovely way to showcase both lacy die and butterflies in equal measure. I always forget about that sentiment set too!
Su, this is a most beautiful card. I love the softness and the beautiful die cut layering, not to mention the vellum butterfly. It caught my eye immediately. Thank you for joining us over at the Paper Players this week.
I love The beautiful butterfly card Su. It really is gorgeous.

Beautiful, Su! I love the Stitched Lace background. The white-on-white is gorgeous, and the perfect place to perch a butterfly. The opal rounds are a lovely and delicate accent. I can’t believe I haven’t used them yet! Thank you for playing in my sketch challenge at The Paper Players this week!
Thank you, Ann! I can’t believe you haven’t used the Opal Rounds. You must!
So pretty Sue! I love the simple colour design showcasing the texture of white and then the pop of colour, so eye catching
Thx for inspiring me!
Thank you for telling me, Lesley! I’m so happy to inspire!
This is just so soft and lovely! The lacy background (which I’m jealous you got to cut so nicely- mine ends up a mess every time!) is the perfect delicate backdrop for your sweet butterfly. Great choice for Easter! Thanks for sharing at The Paper Players!
Thank you, Amanda!
Sorry the Stitched Lace Die doesn’t cooperate with you. It does take some maneuvering!
Beautiful card, I love it!
Thank you, Sherlie! I’m so glad you like it!
