This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge, and the Layering Circles Dies were perfect for creating a design. I used the second largest, scalloped, circle to cut Evening Evergreen Cardstock, and the second largest, plain, circle to cut a pattern of Painted Christmas Designer Paper.
Next, I stamped two candy canes, from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set, in Real Red Ink, and Mint Macaron Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, I used Candy Cane Dies for cutting.
With the sketch in mind, I used a Sending Die to cut the word “sending” from Real Red Cardstock, and backed it with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the Sending “bubble” Die.
The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with a large Candy Canes Die, glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
To continue the sentiment, I stamped “candy cane wishes & mistletoe kisses,” in Evening Evergreen Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the second smallest, plain, Layering Circles Die for cutting. This was layered on Evening Evergreen Cardstock, cut with the second smallest, scalloped, Layering Circles Die.
Prior to attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals, I glued a pine bough to the back of the circle, cut from Garden Green Cardstock with a Decorated Pine Die.
The last step was adding five, For Everything Fancy Sequins, which look like sugar. How sweet!
Here is the Global Design Project sketch. See how the other designers used the sketch, then create your own design, and hang it in our gallery.
