Today’s card is all about the stenciled background, created with an Artistic Mix Decorative Mask and Soft Pastels. Have you used Pastels? Follow along, and I’ll show you my stenciling technique.
Stenciled with Pastels
First, I used Painter’s Tape to hold the Artistic Decorative Mask securely to scratch paper, on top of Basic White cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. These are on top of a Stampin’ Pierce Mat, which I always use for stamping.
Second, starting at the top, I rubbed the Coastal Cabana Pastel on scratch paper, making a powder, that I applied to the cardstock with a Sponge Dauber. I smoothed on the powder in a circular motion half way down the cardstock.
Third, starting at the bottom, I used to same method to apply Granny Apple Green half way up the cardstock.
Fourth, I removed the tape, shook the loose powder into the waste basket, and rubbed the entire surface with a tissue.
Once I had my background, I stamped a floral image, from the Inked & Tiled Stamp Set, in Wild Wheat Ink, a new In Color. Then, I stamped “thank you,” from the same set, in Crumb Cake Ink to match the Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
I’m loving this stamp set! I’ll be using the leaves on my card for tomorrow’s Global Design Project challenge.

Today I am sharing a Fun Fold card that was given the name “bridge.” I love how easy it is to make, and yet has the “wow” factor! To begin, I used a Cheerful Daisies Die to cut the three attached flowers and leaves from Masterfully Made Designer Paper. I backed it with Thick Basic White Cardstock for sturdiness, because it would be “bridging” the opening of the card.
Bridge Fun Fold
Next, I created the card base by cutting a piece of 12″ X 12″ Basic White Cardstock, 10 3/4″ X 5 1/2″. After cutting, I scored it on each end, 1 1/4″, 2 1/4″, and 3 1/4″. My Paper Trimmer made this very easy to do. Then, I folded and burnished the scored lines, accordion style.
To decorate the card base, I cut two pieces of Basic White Cardstock, just a spec smaller than 1 1/4″ X 5 1/2″, and one piece, just a spec smaller than 4″ X 5 1/2″. I prefer this, so there’s no chance of it hanging over the edge. After cutting, I embossed the three pieces with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder, and glued them in place. It takes two trips through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
Once my card base was complete, I glued the daisies in place. I was careful to glue only the portion on the sides, and not the area in the opening.
The sentiment, “wishing you the brightest birthday,” is from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, and used its Cheerful Daisies Die for cutting. It was the perfect size for my “bridge!”
After gluing, I put the weight of Clear Blocks on it to make sure the glue was set. You can write on the back, or adhere this to a card base that folds at the top, making it an easel card. This Fun Fold was really fun, and I hope you’ll give it a try.

Today’s card highlights the Irresistible Blooms Bundle, Hello Irresistible Designer Paper, and Radiating Stitches Dies, all current Online Exclusives. This is an exciting day, because new Online Exclusive products are being released, which we can order right now! I began today’s card by using a Radiating Stitches Die to cut three hearts from Hello Irresistible Designer Paper. Aren’t they pretty? I just love the colors in this paper.
Online Exclusive products
Next, I set the stage for the hearts with a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Hello Irresistible DSP, glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to gluing, I added an Irresistible Blooms die-cut from Basic White Cardstock.
This die can be tricky, so I explained how I do it in a previous blog post.
Cut a piece of Cardstock, 6 1/4″ X 1 1/2″, and adhere it to the same size cut of an Adhesive Sheet. Then, place the Irresistible Blooms Die on top of the cardstock, and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. After cutting, poke out all the parts that aren’t part of the design, before peeling the backing of the Adhesive Sheet.
Leaving the die in place, position it on the card front, pressing to make it stick, before removing the die.
Also, prior to gluing the designer paper to the card base, I attached the sentiment, threaded with Black & White Gingham Ribbon, attached to the back of the designer paper with tape.
The sentiment, “I like you,” is from the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with a Waves Die. It’s hard to use the Waves Dies without using ribbon, because they have the perfect holes!
For a little shine, three Iridescent Rhinestones were the final touch.

Today’s card combines the Beauty Of The Deep Bundle with the Rays Of Light Stamp. I began by stamping the Rays Of Light in Coastal Cabana Ink on Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″, and gluing it to a Lost Lagoon card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I stamped the fish in Memento Black Ink, and the seaweed in Granny Apple Green, on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used their Beauty Of The Deep Dies for cutting, along with a die to cut the coral from Basic White Cardstock.
Undersea Light
After cutting, I glued the seaweed and coral in place, and attached the fish with Dimensionals. Prior to attaching the fish, I colored them with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.
The sentiment, “I’ll listen to your silence when words are just too much,” is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, used its Wonderful Thoughts Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. It seemed appropriate for the quiet, undersea world, with the sunlit rays of hope.
The final touch was bubbles, provided by 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots.

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using a beautiful combination of Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, and Parakeet Party. See how our designers used the colors, then create your own design to hang in our gallery.
I immediately thought of the Textured Floral Stamp Set, and started stamping flowers in Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly, and leaves in Parakeet Party. The “Distinktive” stamps in this set have a watercolored look that is wonderful!
Blooming Color
After stamping, I used the Textured Floral Dies for cutting the flowers and leaves, along with an additional sprig and flower centers from Crumb Cake Cardstock.
The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die, glued to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Before gluing, I gave the white layer texture with a Basics 3D Embossing Folder. This is available in Online Exclusives, and clicking on the picture in my Product List below will take you there.
The sentiment, “Birthday blooms for you,” is from the Textured Floral Stamp Set. I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink, prior to embossing.
