Rhino Ready Birthday Card

Today, I am playing along with the Paper Players theme challenge. Rhonda the Rhino said she is the best animal in my stash, so I agreed she could participate.

Rhonda is from the “online exclusives” stamp set, Rhino Ready. I stamped her in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used my Paper Snips for cutting. Then, I stamped the grass in Old Olive Ink, and the bird in Memento Black Ink, and had fun fussy cutting them also. I have the Rhino Ready Dies, but they are currently unavailable, so I pretended not to have them.

After cutting, I colored Rhonda, the grass, and the bird with Stampin’ Blends in four colors: Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Pool Party, and Pumpkin Pie.

Rhonda’s Birthday Card

For her background, Rhonda said I should use the Stitched Rectangles Dies, because they are retiring, and I needed to let everyone know they are on sale for $24.50, and will soon be gone. I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut Neutrals 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper, which I glued to a Basic Gray card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used the second largest and sixth largest Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut Basic White Cardstock. After gluing the larger rectangle flat, I attached the smaller rectangle with Dimensionals.

Rhonda said she was ready to hop on with her bird friend, and wanted the grass glued beside her.

Next, Rhonda asked for a large “HAPPY,” which we found in the Alphabet a La Mode Die Set. She heard that Silver Foil Sheets were going to be added to “online exclusives” in May, and thought it was perfect for her card. I adhered the Silver Foil to Foam Adhesive Sheets, ran the letters through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, peeled the backing, and attached “HAPPY.”

To complete the sentiment, we stamped “birthday” in Memento Black Ink, used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

“Birthday” is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, which is carrying over to the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. The stamp set and dies will be sold separately in the new catalog, but you can get the bundle now for a 10% savings. I have it pictured in my Product List below. Rhonda is very “happy” with her card, and enjoyed telling you about the products she used.

She especially wanted you to see her home in “online exclusives,” so I’ve included a link below.

The Last Chance Products, Sale began April 4th! There are two lists, which include all of the retiring products from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. Clicking the covers will take you to the lists.

The lists are extra long, because this is a “color refresh” year, so the fifteen retiring colors, and their associated products (ink pads, re-inkers, cardstock, Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, ribbons, embellishments) are listed. I’ve pictured the retiring colors below. These products are usually the first to sell out, so order asap.

The discounted prices are on the right side, and will show when you order the item.

Additionally, I want to point out that there are bundles listed, but that doesn’t indicate the stamp set and dies are retiring. It means they will no longer be in a bundle with the 10% discount.

To make viewing easier, there is a plus mark at the top to enlarge the print. Also, I recommend having the catalogs in hand, because the lists are organized by page number.

Hues Of Happiness for Global Design Project 388

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) Ann Alexander’s beautiful card. See how our designers “cased” Ann, then join in the fun, and add your design to our gallery.

For this week’s project, I used the Blossoming Happiness Dies and Hues of Happiness Designer Paper. Beginning tomorrow (April 4), this die set will be discounted 60%, so only $12.80!

I began with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, making two cuts with a Blossoming Happiness Die. Then, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ folded at 4 1/4″.

Hues Of Happiness

Next, I cut the flowers and leaves from Hues Of Happiness Designer Paper, using Blossoming Happiness Dies. We love when Stampin’ Up! coordinates the dies with the paper! The Happiness Abounds stamp set, #159238, also has the flowers and leaves that can be cut with the dies.

After cutting, I attached the flowers and leaves with Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “just for you,” is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, used its Sentiment Silhouettes Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. This great set is carrying over to the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog.

The final touch was adding three Iridescent Pearls.

Tropical Leaf Slimline Card Online Exclusives

If you like punches, you’ll love the Tropical Leaf Bundle in “online exclusives.” Yes, this leaf was cut with a punch!

I began today’s card with a slimline card base, 7″ X 8 1/2″, folded at 3 1/2″, layered with Granny Apple Green, 3 1/4″ X 8 1/4″, topped with Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/8″ X 8 1/8″.

Tropical Leaf Slimline Card

Before gluing the top layer, I used a Tropical Leaf stamp to stamp the three, long stems. I also stamped “love you lots” and “XOXO” in Memento Black Ink. Then, I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Blend to give it a fine spray of black dots. I did this by flicking the brush end against the lid, but this will eventually ruin the tip of the brush. Now I have one just for this purpose.

Next, I stamped the tropical leaf in Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, and Crushed Curry on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I stamped the leaf vein with the same colors.

Cutting the leaves from the paper came next, using the Tropical Leaf Punch, a punch lover’s delight! I glued one leaf flat, and raised two on Dimensionals.

For a final touch, I added three Fine Sparkle Gems. This slimline card will fit perfectly in our Slimline Envelopes, which I’m sad to say, are retiring. You can order them today, or at a discounted price when the sale begins April 4th, as long as supplies last. You can see the entire lists of retiring products below.

Easter Eggs and Retiring Products

When you need an Easter egg, look for an oval die. I found the perfect Easter egg in the Fabulous Frames Die Set, which I used to cut Basic White Cardstock, Subtles 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper (Soft Sea Foam), and Awash In Beauty Designer Paper (Balmy Blue). This die set is retiring, and you’ll find links to all of the retiring products below.

All of the designer paper from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog will retire in April. I regret to tell you that the Subtles 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper has already sold out.

Easter Eggs

It was fun creating a scene on the white egg, using the Spring Blessings Stamp Set.  The tiny bunny was stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, fussy cut, and attached with Dimensionals. The birds were stamped in Balmy Blue Ink, colored with a Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend, and the grass was stamped in Old Olive Ink. The bunny’s egg is a Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearl. The stamp set is retiring, but the pearls are carrying over.

The sprigs, tucked beneath the egg, were cut with Organic Beauty Dies from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock, and Awash In Beauty Designer Paper; the dies and designer paper are retiring.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die, glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The Deckled Rectangles Dies are carrying over.

Prior to gluing, I stamped “Hoping this spring brings you many blessings” in Memento Black Ink. The sentiment is from the Spring Blessings Stamp Set, retiring, and one I have loved.
