It’s my first time to play with the Christmas Pinecone Dies, and you are going to love them! Look at this fabulous die that fills the card front! It’s #156309, part of the Painted Christmas Suite, pp. 16-19 in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog, available August 3. That’s the day after tomorrow; not long to wait!
I used this large die to cut Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, which was included in the paper sale for the month of July. The last day is tomorrow, August 2, so order now before it goes back to regular price. The Evening Evergreen print (top middle, in the picture in my Product List) is the pattern I chose for today’s card.

Christmas Pinecones
After using the large die, I used the pinecone dies to cut from Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. This fabulous paper is a FREE item, with a qualifying order, during Sale-A-Bration that begins August 3. It’s #156629, and I suggest ordering it right away, because I could see it going on backorder.
I glued the Be Dazzling pinecones to the back of the large die-cut, matching the location, and then glued the large die-cut to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 /12 “, folded at 4 1/4”.

Next I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, and used a Painted Labels Die for cutting. This label die was just the right size for, “May your season sparkle,” from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set. Yay!

Lastly, I decorated the label with small, Seasonal Swirls Dies, another new die set, #156564. I used Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper for the leaves, and Be Dazzling Paper for the “berry.”
I attached the label with Dimensionals, and my Christmas Pinecones card was complete.

Today’s sympathy card was inspired by the Less is More challenge. This is a great challenge for creating clean & simple cards with interest.

Stair-step Peony
I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Keeping it clean & simple, you’ll notice there isn’t a layer. One of the great things about this style card, it doesn’t require lots of product.
The Prized Peony Stamp Set has a rather large flower, which I stamped in Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock.

Next, I used three Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut the flower in three sections.

After cutting, I colored the peony with Stampin’ Blends in two colors: Magenta Madness and Shaded Spruce. Because of all the shading within the stamped image, this was easy to do. I was just careful the ink didn’t spill over the outside edge.
Once colored, I glued the first (right-hand side) section flat, the middle section on Dimensionals, and the third section on doubled Dimensionals, making it stair-stepped.

The sentiment, “so sorry for your loss,” is also from the Prized Peony Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, used a Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting, and glued it beneath the flat section. To make it “shorter,” I used the middle die for cutting.

Here is Elaine’s design at Less Is More.

How about some snow on this warm, summer, day? Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper has some pretty, blue, patterns, perfect for showing off the new, Wonderful Snowflakes. The snowflakes are #156340 in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog, and will be available August 3.
Everything else is available now. In fact, Beauty Of The Earth is one of the designer papers on sale now through August 2. You can see all nine selections of paper that are on sale below. Clicking on the pictures will take you to my store for ordering, where you will see the sale prices. Only a couple more days, so don’t delay!

Let It Snow
Today’s card began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This was topped with Basic White Cardstock cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Night Of Navy Ink. “Let It snow” is from the Snowman Season Stamp Set, a favorite carry-over in the Annual Catalog. Prior to adhering the layer, I embossed it with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

Two Stitched Rectangles Dies were used to cut the Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper. The sizes are approximately 1 3/4″ X 3 3/4″, and 1 1/4″ X 2 1/2″. I shortened the small rectangle by cutting the length with a larger die.
Finally, I attached the Wonderful Snowflake with a Mini-Dimensional, and added a few white, Sequins For Everything. You can see the pretty, opalescence of the snowflake in the first photo.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Today’s Sweet Ice Cream card is featuring Pansy Petals Designer Paper, one of the designer papers on sale now through August 2. You can see all nine selections of paper that are on sale below. Clicking on the pictures will take you to my store for ordering, where you will see the sale prices.

Ice Cream Treat
I began by cutting three patterns of Pansy Petals Designer Paper with an Ornate Layers Die. Then, I glued these in place on Thick Basic White Cardstock (4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″) and used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. This layer was attached to a Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) with Dimensionals.
Next, I used a Stitched Rectangles Die (1 3/4 X 3 3/4) to cut Thick Basic White Cardstock to hold the ice cream cone. Prior to attaching it with Dimensionals, I stamped the sentiment in Highland Heather Ink. “Treat yourself” is from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set.

The scoop of ice cream was cut from Rainbow Glimmer Paper using the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch. The cone was punched from Crumb Cake Cardstock, doubled for thickness, and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

For a bit more sparkle, I added some Artistry Blooms Self-Adhesive Sequins. This angle enables you to see the layers of dimension.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

Honey, the “love” bear is anxious to meet you, and share two of her favorite designer papers that are on sale right now; In Good Taste, and Tidings Of Christmas. You can see all nine selections of paper that are on sale below. Clicking on the pictures will take you to my store for ordering, where you will see the sale prices.

Honey the Bear
Honey is from the Count On Me Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Once cut from the paper, Honey said she would be easy to color, because all I would need is a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend. She was right! The darker areas were made by a second coating with the same color.

Since Honey is holding a heart, she wanted to use the gorgeous, Floral Hearts Die (pictured in the first photo) to cut from a pink pattern of In Good Taste Designer Paper. I used the same paper to give her a “paper pieced” heart to hold. This required stamping the portion with the heart on the designer paper, fussy cutting the heart, and gluing it in place. I hope you understand, because “paper piecing” is a fun technique. Then, I cut a second Floral Heart from Basic White Cardstock to fill in the center, saving the “outside” for another card.
For the background, Honey wanted paper that would match her fur, and we chose a year-round pattern from Tidings Of Christmas. To add some pretty detail, we used an Ornate Layers Die for cutting.

The sentiment was a “no brainer,” because it’s Honey’s favorite from the Count On Me Stamp Set, “Love comes in all shapes and sizes.” I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink, and used the long, rectangular, Ornate Layers Die for cutting. I made several cuts with the same die, adjusting it to fit the words, and leaving room for Honey to stand on it.

Honey is very pleased with her card, and wants to make sure that everyone sees it at #stampingthroughthecatalog.

I had just opened a box of exciting, pre-ordered, Stampin’ Up! products from the new 2021 July-December Mini Catalog, prior to thinking about this week’s Global Design Project sketch. Seeing the vertical lines, I couldn’t wait to cut into the Cork Specialty Paper (#156393). I would love to see how this paper is manufactured, because it feels like real cork, and it’s amazing!
I combined it with Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper for a masculine, thank you card. If it’s woodsy, guys will like it, right?

Cork “Sneak Peek”
Here is this week’s sketch. Our designers are here to inspire you, so you can make a card to hang in our gallery.

The Cork Specialty Paper is the same color as Cinnamon Cider Cardstock, so I used that as the card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I layered the card front with a pretty, green and gold, tree pattern, from Beauty Of The Earth, 5 1/4″ X 4 1/4″. This designer paper is on sale, just through the month of July, so if you like it, get it now. You’ll find the links to my store below.
Next, making sure the lines were going in the right direction, I cut the Cork Specialty Paper, 4 1/2″ X 3 1/4″, layered it for thickness, and glued it on top of the tree paper.

To complete the sketch with a greeting, I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to write the word “Thanks.”
First, I attached a 1″strip of Neutrals 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in Mossy Meadow to a 1″ strip of Foam Adhesive Sheet, placing the letters on top, and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I turned the letters upside down, and ran it through a second time to make sure it was a good cut.
The Foam Adhesive Sheet is an easy way to give the small letters wonderful dimension, and it’s easy to peel the backing and stick them to the card front. I placed a ruler on the card, so they could be lined up evenly.
The gold and white strip is Expressions In Ink Designer Paper, cut with an Ornate Layers Die. I cut it a second time to make it narrower, 1/4″.
Then, lo and behold, a Gold Foil bird (Beautiful Trees Dies) flew onto my card, landing on the “T.” He said he matched the gold in the stripe, and made my card look complete. I hope the man who receives this card is a bird lover!
