Celebrate Sunflowers Thank You Card

Sunflowers are spectacular in real life, and pretty amazing in paper too, don’t you think? This sunflower uses the “ink to stamp” technique.

By Su Mohr for Fusion; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for instructions! Sunflower Thank You

First, I placed the sunflower, from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set, on the Stamparatus platform, atop Basic White Cardstock. Second, I picked up the stamp on the lid of the Stamparatus, and colored the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers in four colors: Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Bumblebee, and Highland Heather.

After each color, I lowered the lid, stamping the inked sunflower to the white paper. It’s so much fun to stamp this way! Third, I used its Sunflower Die for cutting, and placed it on Dimensionals.

For the background, I used a Meadow Moments Embossing Folder to emboss Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I used a Quiet Meadow stamp to make the splattered dots in Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape inks. I glued this layer to a Gorgeous Grape card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “thank you,” is from the Beauty Of Friendship Stamp Set, stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die.

After attaching the sunflower, and sentiment, I decided to add two, green, leaves. I stamped them in Garden Green Ink, cut with their die, and tucked them beneath the sunflower on Dimensionals.

I was inspired by the Fusion challenge, the colors and sketch.

Giving Gifts Sneak Peek

Today’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge was perfect for sharing a sneak peek of one of my favorite things in the new 2021 “holiday” catalog. The sight of Santa and his reindeer still gives me a thrill! This is a die-cut from the Giving Gifts Die Set, #156563, available August 3. Everything else is in the current 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, and in my Product List below.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for instructions; Featuring: Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper; Giving Gifts Dies, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, Simply Elegant Trim; #christmascards #holidaycards #holiday2021 #santa #santaoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup #tidingsofchristmas #givinggifts #tags #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop

Santa Tag

The first thing I did, was use an Evening Evergreen pattern from Tidings of Christmas Designer Paper, to cut Santa and his reindeer. I lined it up with a Tailored Tags Die, and ran them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine at the same time.

Then, I used the same Tailored Tags Die to cut a pattern of Soft Succulent, Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, to glue to the back.

Tidings Of Christmas is one of the papers that is on sale through the end of July. You’ll be glad to have it when you start making holiday cards. You can see all of the patterns, along with the sale price, when you click on the picture of it below.

The background for my Santa tag is another pattern of Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″. I layered this on an Evening Evergreen card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at  4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “Ho Ho Ho” is from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, stamped in Cherry Cobbler Ink, and cut with the smallest Tailored Tag. I finished the tags by threading some Simply Elegant Trim through the holes. And, for a bit more silver, I added a Silver Foil hole reinforcer to the larger tag, and a sprig, cut with a Poinsettia Die.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Quick and Easy Celebration Cards

When you begin with gorgeous designer paper, you can create a card that’s “quick and easy.” Today’s cards began with layers of Expressions In Ink Designer Paper, in two different color combinations.

I glued the green combo to a Granny Apple Green card base, and the pink/yellow combo to a Magenta Madness card base. The layers (4″ X 5 1/4″) and card bases (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) were easily made with my Paper Trimmer, the one I use every day without mentioning. In case you aren’t familiar with it, I have it in my Product List below.

Celebrate with Seasonal Swirls

In fact, all of the supplies are in my Product List, with the exception of the circle of stars. This is a new die (#156564) from the Seasonal Swirls Die Set, in the 2021 July-August Mini Catalog, and will be available August 3.

I coordinated the circles by using our current, Rainbow Glimmer Paper, which adds a wonderful sparkle.

Before gluing the circles, I stamped the sentiment, “let’s celebrate you,” in  Magenta Madness, and Shaded Spruce inks. Isn’t it nice the designer paper has a large, white space for stamping the sentiment? Finding the perfect sentiment was the most difficult part of the design.

To complete the cards, I added the sweet, little, bird, a Beautiful Trees Die, cut from the same color cardstock as the card bases: Granny Apple Green, and Magenta Madness. I have a feeling this bird will be appearing on many of my cards. The birds are having a chirping contest right now, trying to determine which card is the prettiest. They didn’t believe me when I said I liked them equally.

May Your Day “Bee” Filled With Sunshine

Everyone seems to love bees on cards, so today’s clean & simple challenge was a fun one!

I began by cutting five butterflies to go with my Bumblebee Trinket. This butterfly is one of the Meadow Dies, which I really like, because it includes some embossing. I brushed the edges of their wings with five colors of ink: Mango Melody, Magenta Madness, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, and Real Red.

By Su Mohr for PP; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set, Meadow Dies, Painted Labels Dies, Bumblebee Trinkets; #celebratewithflowers #meadowdies #paintedlabelsdie #bees #beesoncards #bumblebees #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #aromasandart.com #stampinup #cleanandsimple

“bee” filled with sunshine

The sentiment, “May your day be filled with sunshine,” is from the Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set. I stamped it in Stazon Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, and used a Painted Labels Die for cutting.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, layered on a Thick White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. For a little extra pizzazz, I glued a 1/4″ X 5 1/4″ strip of Pattern Party Designer Paper on the left side.

I attached the butterflies with Dimensionals, and the BumblebeeTrinket with a Glue Dot, and my clean & simple card was complete.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

Summer Shadows

I couldn’t wait to cut some flowers and leaves from cardstock, and use this week’s GDP colors: Polished Pink and Coastal Cabana, plus Basic White.

Continue being inspired, then see what you can do with this color combination.

For the background, I used Basic White Cardstock, cut with the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die. After layering it for thickness, I positioned and glued the leaves, stamped the sprig in Night of Navy Ink, and embossed the layer with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. This “smashed” the leaves into the layer, which I attached to the card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) with Dimensionals.

The flowers were glued at their centers, leaving the petals free to lift.

The sprig and sentiment are from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set, and the good news is, it’s available right now! You can see all the stamps in the set in my Product List below.

I stamped “hello you” in Night Of Navy Ink, used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

In The Tropics Vacation

What do you think of when you see a pineapple? I think of Hawaii, my favorite vacation destination, a plane ride away.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for instructions! Featuring: Cork Specialty Paper, In The Tropics Dies, Pansy petals Designer Paper, Timber Embossing Folder, Pansy Dies, Ombre Gift Bags; #hawaii #favoritevacations #pansypetals #pansydies #corkpaper #timberembossing #inthetropics #hawaii #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #aromasandart.com #stampinup #cardchallenges

Hawaiian Pineapple

Today’s card gives you a sneak peek of two new products from the 2021 July-August Mini Catalog, available August 3. The Cork Specialty Paper (#156393) is fabulous, which I cut with an Ornate Layers Die, and placed beneath the pineapple. The second new product is a Timber Embossing Folder (#156406), which I used on a layer of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.

The card base is Soft Succulent Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Also featured on this card is  Pansy Petals Designer Paper, which is on sale this month, so you need to get it now, before it goes back to regular price in August. The gingham beneath the Cork is Pansy Petals Designer Paper, cut with the same Ornate Layers Die.

I also used Pansy Petals with an In The Tropics Die to create the pineapple, as well as the leaves and flowers. The flowers were cut with a die from In The Tropics. There’s a tiny hole at the center of the flowers, perfect for tiny pearls. The leaves were cut with Pansy Dies right from the paper. How fun is that!

The top of the pineapple was cut from an Ombre Gift Bag in Evening Evergreen, sliced open to make a flat piece for cutting. Check out the bags below, because they are my host code gift for the month of July.

Last, but not least, the sentiment. “Aloha” was cut with an In The Tropics Die from Evening Evergreen Cardstock, and glued to a tag that was cut with an Ornate Frames Die.

The tag was “tied” on with Bumblebee Gingham Trim.

The current products are in my Product List below. And, you can see close-up pictures of the sale designer paper by clicking on the pictures. This will also take you to my store for easy shopping.

I was inspired by TGIF.
