Just when you think you’ve seen all the cuteness in the Annual Catalog, out pops this kiwi! He said maybe I didn’t notice him, because he’s so small, and the reason his name is Wee.

Wee the Kiwi
Wee is from the Count On Me Stamp Set, along with other adorable characters who are dying to make an appearance on my cards. He said I should stamp him in Early Espresso Ink to make his features stand out, and then color with Crumb Cake and Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends for his natural beauty.

Because Wee is small, I thought a square, Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 4 1/4″, folded at 4 1/4″ would be perfect. I layered this with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 4″, embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. Then, I cut an even smaller square, 2″ X 2″, and attached it with Dimensionals, in the center.
Wee thought it would be funny to place him beside a cut flower that looked like a kiwi, as in fruit. It made me laugh, so I used a Dandy Garden Die to cut from Brights 6X6 Designer Paper in Granny Apple Green. This particular pattern has retired, but there are four new patterns you can see in my Product List below.
Wee the kiwi happily hopped onto the small square with his kiwi looking flower.

Wee said he loves to send paper hugs, so a sentiment from the Through It Together Stamp Set was his choice. I stamped “sending you this paper hug” in Early Espresso Ink, used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
Wee is already planning his next card, but I said he’d have to let the others have their turn. If you can’t wait to see them, the stamp set is in my Product List below.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

The Color & Contour Bundle has it all; stamps, dies, and sentiments. Today’s card combines the bundle with Pattern Party Designer Paper and some pretty ribbon.

Color & Contour Bundle
Basic Gray makes a nice background for bright colors, so that’s what I chose for the card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
First, I stamped the abstract flower, randomly, in Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″.
Second, I glued a strip of Pattern Party Designer Paper, 1 1/4″ X 5 1/2″, on the left side.
Third, I used the largest, Scalloped Contours Die for cutting. See how the scalloped edge is covered with the designer paper?

Prior to gluing my layer to the card base, I embossed it with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

The sentiment, “You’re absolutely amazing,” was stamped in VersaMark on Basic Gray Cardstock, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, set with the Heat Tool, and cut with the smallest Scalloped Contours Die. You can see descriptions of these products by clicking on the pictures in my Product List below.
I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals, and glued a Playful Pets Trim bow in the corner. I’m thinking this pretty, red, ribbon will be great for Christmas cards. And, it comes with black & white twine. You need it!

It’s “Christmas in July,” but first I want to Congratulate Dottie O. in Colorado!!! You are the winner of a $17.00 stamp set of your choice. Send me an email with your choice, and I’ll send it on its way.
All of my other wonderful customers, who purchased a minimum of $75.00 in June, will receive the Artistry In Bloom Self-Adhesive Sequins, and a handmade card from yours truly. YAY!!!

Today’s card was created with my July host code gift, the Ombre Gift Bags. Yes, they are little bags, but you can also slice the side and the bottom to make a flat piece of paper to use on our cards in this manner. The paper is thinner than cardstock, but thicker than tissue, perfect for a pink poinsettia, cut with Poinsettia Dies from the current 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

Ombre Gift Bag Poinsettia
I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with a layer of Basic White Cardstock, embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
Prior to embossing, I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen Ink. “May magic and wonder bloom this holiday” is one of the great sentiments in the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set. You can see the entire set in my Product List below.

There are 18 dies in the Poinsettias Dies Set, and I used the large, medium, small, and smallest dies to cut the petals from the Polished Pink bag. Then, I used their coordinating dies for embossing, which are shown in the picture.

Next, the leaves were cut from the Evening Evergreen bag, embossed, and glued in place. Then, I cut the sprig from Thick Basic White Cardstock, and glued it in the corner. Finally, I glued my poinsettia in place, and my first Christmas card of the season was complete.
I know it’s early to think about Christmas, but some appreciate getting a head start on Christmas cards and craft items for the holiday fairs.

Today’s card features a colorful daisy, created with Pattern Party Designer Paper and a Daisy Punch; the larger of the two daisy punches. I punched two rounds of petals, curled them with my bone folder, and glued them together at the center. Then, I added a center (cut from the backside of the striped paper), using a Poppy Moments Die.

Pattern Party Daisy
The background began with a Coastal Cabana card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The black & white dot is another Pattern Party paper, cut with the largest Scalloped Contours Die.

The next layer is, yet another Pattern Party paper, cut with the third largest Scalloped Contours Die. I layered it for thickness, so it would be sturdy atop Dimensionals.

“Best Wishes” is from the Queen Anne’s Lace Stamp Set, stamped in Stazon Black Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die. I attached the daisy and sentiment with Dimensionals, and my card was complete.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch, with a very interesting formation. When imagining how I would recreate it, I thought of using a small, rectangle from the Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set.

Butterfly Shapes
Isn’t this an interesting sketch? You should try your hand at creating a card, and hang it in our gallery.

I stamped the Watercolor Shapes rectangle six times, using Pool Party Ink, on Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.

Next, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. The dotted border was created with Pattern Party Designer Paper, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. Then, the layers were glued together on a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 51/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to attaching the top layer, I placed a piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon across the front, and taped it to the back.
To add some flair, I used a Brilliant Wings Die to cut a butterfly from Pattern Party Designer Paper in a colorful stripe, and glued its body on the card front.

The sentiment, “Thanks so much!,” is from the Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set. It was stamped in Just Jade Ink, cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die, and attached with Dimensionals.
For a touch of sparkle, I added my new favorite, Artistry Blooms Sequins, to the butterfly’s body. Yes, these are the wonderful, self-adhesive sequins that are my host code gift for the month of June. You can read the details below.

It’s summertime, and I’m smiling! My inspiration was a Fusion card challenge, which you can see below; the theme, photo, and sketch. Fun!

Summertime
I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This was topped with Pansy Petals Designer Paper in a Pale Papaya Gingham print, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die.
The daisy is from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set, stamped in So Saffron Ink on Basic White Cardstock, two times. Then, I used the Medium Daisy Punch for cutting, and attached the petals with a Dimensional; between the two rounds of petals, and to the card front.
Next, I cut two stems, using a Meadows Die, from In Good Taste Designer Paper, and glued them in place. Can you see the wood texture?

My card was completed with the sentiment, “Smile,” from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set. I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink, and used one of the Meadow Dies for cutting. Don’t you love the detail?
The daisy was finished with an Artistry Blooms Sequin at the center. You know how I love those sequins!

I was inspired by Fusion.
