My second card with the Ornate Garden products features a row of hand-cut daisies.

Row of Daisies
I began by fussy cutting five daisies from the gorgeous, Ornate Garden Designer Paper.

I placed the daisies on Dimensionals in a row across a second piece of Ornate Garden Designer Paper, cut with one of the eight, Ornate Layers Dies. Isn’t it fabulous?

The background is Whisper White Cardstock, embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder, atop a Pear Pizzazz card base.

The sentiment, “just wanted to say,” is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink. The inside will be completed later with one of the 19 sentiments in the set.
TIP: I stamped the sentiment before embossing, and the fine font still shows clearly.
The bow is from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.

CAS(E) this sketch was my inspiration.

The Best Dressed Designer Paper is the star of the show on today’s card. This DSP really speaks to me, because in the early 80s, I was a handbag buyer for Nordstom.

Handbags for You
I began by cutting the DSP with a brand new, Ornate Layers Die, available to customers April 1. See the pretty border? These dies are amazing, and I’m warning you, you will want them! They are pictured in my Product List.
Next, I used a scallop edged, Layering Squares Die, to crop a square from the top half. I backed this with a 1/16″ border of Basic Black Cardstock for definition.

I decorated my “eclipsed” square with a fussy cut handbag, which I stamped with “you!” from the Hold on to Hope Stamp Set. After adding a scrap of black & white, striped, DSP, I raised the square on Dimensionals.

To complete the sentiment, I stamped “fabulous at any age,” from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, on another Best Dressed DSP print. Then, I bordered it with basic Black Cardstock, and added three little pearls.

I do love pearls, and they are my Host Code gift for the month of March. When you’re placing your order, (50.00 minimum) type this Host Code in the box provided, and I’ll send you pearls in April.

I was inspired by the theme at TGIF.

And, the sketch at Fab Friday.

As a Demonstrator, I pre-ordered the Mini-Paper Trimmer and the 6X6 Designer Series Paper Sampler, and was delighted this handbag pattern was in the selection. You have until March 31 to join Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration, when you can receive these items for FREE!

I am drawn (no pun intended) to this Beautiful Moments lady. She is so graceful, and pretty, with or without coloring.

In the fields
Today, I stamped the lady in Old Olive Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock (2″ X 3 1/2″), and colored her with Stampin’ Blends. Her flesh is Light Petal Pink, hair is Light Crumb Cake, dress is Dark Pool Party, and field is Light Old Olive.

The foliage behind the lady is Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Paper. These 12X12″ sheets come beautifully packaged, with tissue between the sheets, to prevent the intricate designs from tangling. You can cut along the borders, or snip them free, as I have done for this card. You are seeing the white side, and there’s a light, gold, shimmer on the other side.

I glued the Laser-Cut Paper to a woven pattern from Tropical Oasis DSP, atop an Old Olive card base.
After placing my lady on Dimensionals, an afterthought was to add some sparkle with Iridescent Sequins. I had already completed my Product List, so here’s the number for the sequins: #144212.

I intended to begin sharing Stampin’ Up’s “early release” Ornate Garden Suite next week, but I could wait no longer!

Ornate Floral Thanks
Embossing folders add such wonderful texture, and I LOVE the new Ornate Floral Embossing Folder. I used it on this entire Thick Whisper White card front. It makes a pretty impression on the inside too!

Next, I cut a 3 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ piece of the beautiful, Ornate Garden DSP, and used an Ornate Borders die to trim the edge. Then, I gave it texture with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, and glued it atop the card front.

“Thanks” is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, cut with an Ornate Frames Die, and given texture with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder. I added Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the back of the sentiment with Dimensionals, and Pearls to the front.

The TGIF challenge sketch is the reason I couldn’t wait to use this early release suite. I HAD to use one of the fabulous Ornate Borders Dies.

Sale-A-Bration will end March 31, and I really don’t want you to miss out on two great items: Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set, and Small Bloom Punch. I used both on today’s “thank you” card.

Small Bloom Thank You
I began with a Thick Whisper White card base, embossing the front with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. I was excited to use the new, So Very Vellum DSP, a Sale-A-Bration, “Second Release” item. It comes in three super colors that are embossed, which you can see in my Product List. I cut a strip of Purple Posy Vellum, 2″ X 5 1/2″, and backed it with Purple Posy Cardstock, 2 1/4″ X 5 1/2″.
TIP: Use tiny dots of Liquid Glue behind the vellum’s embossed dots to keep the glue from being visible.

Next, I stamped the flowers in Melon Mambo (full strength, and stamped off) and Highland Heather ink (stamped off), and cut with the Small Bloom Punch. The leaves are from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set, stamped in Granny Apple Green Ink, and cut with the Leaf Punch.

Finally, I used two Stitched Shapes Dies to cut the Thick Whisper White circle, and rim of Purple Posy.
“Thank you” is from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink. I dotted the blooms with Black Jewels (retired) for a bit more black.

Can you see how I “CASED” the designer at Global Design Project?

Sale-A-Bration is a great time to join Stampin’ Up! If you’re thinking of ordering $99.00 or more, why not get the Starter Kit? It comes with free shipping too, which is another 10% savings. Hobby Demonstrators are welcome!

The Mountain Air Stamp Set and Majestic Mountain Dies are wonderful for making masculine cards.

Majestic Mountains
This set stood out as the most unusual set in the Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. It’s uniqueness is in its images, as well as being one of the few “reversible” stamp sets. This means that you can stamp with the detailed side, and turn it over to stamp with the solid side.

I began this clean & simple card with a Sahara Sand card base, and a Sahara Sand mountain range, cut with a Majestic Mountain die. Then, I used a Mountain Air stamp, Early Espresso Ink, and the same die, to make the detailed mountain range. Finally, I used Sponge Daubers to apply Garden Green and Old Olive Inks to the row of trees, Pacific Point Ink to the water, and used its die for cutting.

To add dimension to the scene, I placed the trees & water on a Foam Adhesive Strip and Mini-Dimensionals.
It reminds me of Lake Tahoe.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Clubhouse Stamp Set, stamped in Pacific Point Ink, and cut with a Golf Club die.

I used the detailed stamps and die-cuts on today’s card, but here’s a previous card using a solid stamp. You can click on the card for details.

Mountain Air
There’s a “touch of green” on today’s birthday card, and I’m sharing with Seize the Birthday.
