Dino hasn’t seen daylight for a while, so he wanted to come out and say, “Happy Birthday.”

Dino’s Birthday Card
I stamped Dino in Bermuda Bay Ink, because he wanted to match his favorite balloon color. He was easy to cut, using his Dino Die. The Dino Days Stamp Set and Dino Dies are shown as a bundle (you save 10%) in my Product List, but they can be purchased separately.

The balloon paper is from Birthday Bonanza Designer Paper. I used a layering Squares Die, and then the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners. Check out the punch in my product List. It’s so much fun to use this punch, I could go crazy and round the corners on EVERYTHING!

Dino wanted everyone to know he is the one saying, “Happy Birthday,” so I used the “speaking bubble” from the Special Day Die Set. The coordinating, Special Someone Stamp Set, has the perfectly sized sentiment, which I stamped in Memento Black Ink.
For the background, Dino talked me into using the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder on Whisper White Cardstock. Have you seen dinosaur skin? Well, I haven’t, but Dino said this is what his skin looks like, and it ties his card together.

Dino wants to show off his card at Freshly Made Sketches.
And, Seize the Birthday, because he is a GREAT creature.

When you need to spell “love” in a large way, the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies work perfectly.

L-OV-E You
The letters were colored by painting stripes with Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends in the Light and Dark shades on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Afterwards, I used the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies for cutting.
I tested the small rectangle from the Sticthed So Sweetly Die Set to make sure the letters would fit properly, and they did. So, I cut four rectangles from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, glued the letters, and placed the rectangles on Dimensionals.

The die-cut hearts beneath the “L-O-V-E” are from a Be Mine Stitched Die.

Wanting to leave this “clean and simple,” the only other thing I added was “you” on a heart. I stamped this in Memento Black Ink, cut with a Be Mine Stitched Die on Thick Whisper White Cardstock.

My layout is from the Global Design Project challenge.

My store is open for business, and I’ve started offering a free gift to everyone who orders $50.00-149.00 within a month. If you use my Host Code, U463KNM3, February’s gift is the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder.

I love making valentines, and this one is “for you.” It takes few supplies, and is really very simple.

Valentine For You
I began with a favorite Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper for the frame. Using the largest, and third largest, Stitched Rectangles Dies, I cut the frame, which is layered for thickness.
TIP: Glue the DSP and Cardstock together before cutting with the dies. Make your cut at the same time, eyeballing to make sure the borders are even. And, use 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 to give room for the largest die to fit.
Next, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut Whisper White Cardstock, which I glued to the back of the frame. Then, I glued this to a Rich Razzleberry card base.

The flowers are from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set, stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ink on the Whisper White Cardstock. If I had thought about it ahead of time, I would have stamped the flowers before gluing everything together. But, I used the Stamparatus, and it turned out fine. Whew!

The large heart was made with Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper and a Be Mine Stitched Die, and, again, layered for thickness.
The small sentiment, “for you,” is from the Perfectly Framed Stamp Set. It was tempting to “frame” it, but I decided on a simple stamping in Rich Razzleberry Ink. I found a cute, little, Enamel Heart in my stash.

I’m playing along with the “valentine” challenge at Fusion.

A pink flamingo heart was the beginning of today’s tropical valentine.

Tropical Valentine
I used a Be Mine Stitched Die to cut the heart from Tropical Oasis Designer Paper, and layered it for thickness.
For the background, I embossed Whisper White Cardstock with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder, and layered it on a Thick Whisper White card base.

Before embossing the background, I stamped it with splatter stamps, from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set, in Calypso Coral Ink.
Next, I used a Tropical Die to cut the foliage from Sparkle Glimmer Paper, then added more shine with some Iridescent Sequins.

“Sent with love” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die.

I’m adding my valentine, with a tropical twist, to the gallery at TGIF.

The fairy from the New Wonders Stamp Set is showing that “love is in the air.”

“love is in the air”
The fairy was very excited about the stamping technique she used to write “love.” I think that’s because it was an accidental discovery! She planned on using the “splotch” stamp from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set, and the word “love,” from the Well Written Die Set, as a stencil. But, when she stamped the “splotch” in Bermuda Bay Ink on top of “love,” it didn’t show.
The accidental discovery happened when she was cleaning the stamp by stamping on scratch paper, and there was “love,” perfectly stamped! She could hardly contain herself with joy, and stamped a few more clouds in Coastal Cabana Ink.

Before all this took place, I helped the fairy get dressed. Using an Aqua Painter and Ink Pads, I colored her blouse Melon Mambo, and her skirt Merry Merlot. Her other Stampin’ Blend colors are in my Product List. Then, I used my Paper Snips for fussy cutting, so she would be free to fly, well supported on Dimensionals.
The fairy’s background has a thin border of Bermuda Bay Cardstock, on a Thick Whisper White card base.

I was inspired by the theme from the Paper Players.

And, the colors are from Fab Friday.

I haven’t used the Woodland Embossing Folder for a while, but it’s still a favorite, especially for masculine cards.

Woodland Birthday
Before embossing, I added three strips of green to a 4 X 5 1/4″ Crumb Cake Cardstock layer. The strips are 4 X 1 1/4″ in Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Cardstock. After embossing with the Woodland Embossing Folder, I glued the layer to a Crumb Cake card base.
Next, I used the wonderful, Majestic Mountain tree die, to cut a tree from Noble Peacock Foil. The tree isn’t as tall as it seems, because I cut it in half, and covered the middle of the tree with a circle.
The circle was made with two Layering Circles Dies and two colors of Cardstock: Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.

The sentiment, “May your birthday be memorable,” is from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink.

CAS(E) this sketch was my inspiration for today’s card. Do you see how I came up with this unusual design?

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to make more masculine cards. Keep scrolling to see my Product List, and click on the pictures to start shopping at my store.
