Valentine Sent With Love

I’ve always loved giving and receiving valentines, and it’s even more fun, now that I make them by hand.

By Su Mohr for GDP and FMS; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Be Mine Stitched Dies, Ornate Frames Dies, Itty Bitty Greetings, Scripty embossing, watercolor wash; #valentines #valentinecards #hearts #heartsoncards #beminestitcheddies #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking

Sent With Love

Today’s Valentine has a watercolored wash background that I prepared a while ago. I remember using Thick Whisper White Cardstock with Flirty Flamingo Ink, letting water wash over it until it became this pretty, pastel pink. While it was still damp, I let it dry under the weight of heavy books.

Today, I trimmed the top and bottom with a Be Mine Stitched Die, and embossed with the Scripty Embossing Folder.

The heart is from the same die set, where I left the center cut intact.

“Sent with love” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die.

I “tied” the sentiment to the heart with Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

The Valentine’s Day colors are from Global Design Project.

And, I interpreted the circle as a heart in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Crumpled Flowers Thank You Card

Today’s card was a fun experiment in making “crumpled” flowers.

By Su Mohr for Paper Players; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Crumpled Flowers

I knew I needed six flowers, because of the Paper Player’s challenge.

I began by using the Sale-A-Bration, Small Bloom Punch, to cut my flowers from Highland Heather Cardstock. To make the flowers “crumpled,” I wet them under a faucet, rolled them into tiny balls, and carefully unfolded them. Yes, I was careful, but this Cardstock is stronger than you think. After shaping them a bit, I let them dry overnight.

The following day,  I added Faceted Dots to the flower’s centers, and placed them on Mini-Dimensionals. Then, I used Poppy Moments Dies to cut their leaves from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.

The background was made with Best Dressed 6X6 Designer Paper on a Seaside Spray card base.

“Thanks” was made with a Well Written Die, cut from a Black Foil Sheet. I think this paper looks like Patent Leather, which is a nice, shiny, contrast to the pastel colors.

If you look at the Small Bloom Punch in my Product List below, you’ll see the price is $0.00. That’s because it’s FREE with a 100.00 order, through March 31, as long as supplies last.

Sale-A-Bration is a great time to order, because of the FREE products you can earn. It’s also a great time to join Stampin’ Up! for additional benefits and products with your Starter Kit.

Painted Poppies Easter Card

Stampin’ Up’s Painted Poppies are fabulous, and it’s no wonder they were featured on the front cover of the 2020 Mini Catalog. Why not CASE one of their samples? And, for today’s card, I did just that!

By Su Mohr for TGIF and Fab Fri; Click READ or VISIt to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Painted Poppies Stamp Set, Poppy Moments Dies, Peaceful poppies DSP, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Banner Triple Punch; #paintedpoppies #poppymoments #peacefulpoppies #poppies #poppiesoncards #flowersoncards #eastercards #cardchallenges #casethecatalog #case #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking

Easter Poppies

I began the design with a 2″ banner cut from Peaceful Moments Designer Paper in a green& white stripe. To get the perfect banner cut, I used the Banner Triple Punch, pictured in my Product List.

The background is Whisper White Cardstock, embossed with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, and layered on a Thick Whisper White card base.

Next, I stamped the “splotch” from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set in Highland Heather Ink on Whisper White Cardstock (3 times), and used a Poppy Moments Die for cutting. Then, I used a die from the same set to cut three Whisper White “frames.”

TIP: Gluing the “frames” just in the center is sufficient to hold them in place. Plus, the lift on the edges adds dimension.

I used two more dies from the Poppy Moments Die Set: the poppy centers, cut from Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock, and the leaves, cut from Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink, and cut with a Stitched So Sweetly Die. For a touch of sparkle, I added some Woven Threads Sequins.

I was inspired by two challenges:

Special Someone Squirrel Says “Nuts For You”

Today’s card is combing a favorite stamp set (Painted Harvest) and punch (Leaf Punch) from the Annual Catalog, with new stamp sets and dies from the 2020 Mini Catalog.

By Su Mohr for Fusion; Click Read or Visit to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Special Someone Stamp Set, Painted harvest Stamp Sety, So Sentimental Stamp Set, Special Day Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Leaf Punch, Country Club DSP; #specialsomeone #specialdaydies #squirrels #squirrelsoncards #critters #crittersoncards #acorns #paintedharvest #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking

Squirrel’s gift

My idea began with the Fusion challenge; using a critter with the colors of brown, green and yellow.

For my critter, I chose Squirrel from the Special Someone Stamp Set, because I knew he would love the wonderful acorn in the Painted Harvest Stamp Set. First, I stamped Squirrel in Early Espresso Ink and Sahara Sand Ink, and used his Special Day Die for cutting. Then, I stamped several acorns in shades of brown that are named in my Product List below, and fussy cut them.

Next, I used the largest Stitched So Sweetly Die to cut a rectangle from Whisper White Cardstock, and stamped a pile of acorns. I figured Squirrel would be very happy standing on a pile of acorns.

Squirrel’s generosity warmed my heart, when he chose the sentiment, “for you,” from the So Sentimental Stamp Set. This small sentiment fit perfectly in the “bubble” that I cut with a die from the Special Someone Stamp Set. Doesn’t Squirrel look cute holding the acorn?

So far, everything was brown and white, so I used a Garden Green card base, topped with a great plaid from Country Club Designer Paper. The leaves are from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set, stamped in Garden Green Ink, and cut with the Leaf Punch. If you haven’t seen this punch before, you can check it out in my Product List.

Last, but not least, I used a Special Day Die to cut some yellow flowers, a very brilliant yellow named Pineapple Punch.

Squirrel is excited to share his acorns. What a nice, little squirrel he is! “Nuts for you” could even be a Valentine!

Squirrel and I thank you for stopping by. He wants you to know that his stamp set is available now, and his coordinating dies are available Feb. 4th. Plus, he is proud to say, his stamp set and dies will be in the future 2020-2021 Annual Catalog!

Masculine Happy Birthday Wreath

We’re always needing those masculine birthday cards, and I think this one qualifies.

By Su Mohr; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, Painted Labels Dies, Poppy Moments Dies, Pressed Petals Designer Paper

Birthday Wreath

I began with Pressed Petals Designer Paper, layered on a Mossy Meadow card base. This DSP is fabulous on its own, making it easy to add a special touch.

The circle for my wreath was cut from Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock with a Painted Labels Die. Doesn’t it make a great wreath?

And, it has a perfect spot for a sentiment in the middle. “Happy Birthday” is from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink.

I made the greenery with Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper and a Poppy Moments Die.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
