This week’s Global Design Project is a very inspiring sketch. It could be used with any stamp set or bundle! After you check out our designs, let’s see what you create. Don’t forget to tag it #gdp506.

I decided to use it with one of my favorite designer papers, Beautiful Gallery, along with Beautiful Motifs Dies that are in the suite. I used two of the Beautiful Motifs Dies to cut from different areas of the designer paper, and backed the die-cuts with cardstock for thickness.

Beautiful Gallery
Next, I glued the Beautiful Motifs die-cuts to another pattern of Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper, 4 1/8″ X 2 7/8″. This was backed with Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 3″, and glued to the Basic Beige card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to gluing, I gave the card base texture with the Glass Embossing Folder.

“Have a blessed day” is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. I stamped it in Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic Beige Cardstock, 2 1/8″ X 1/2″, backed it with Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 2 1/4″ X 5/8″, and attached it with Dimensionals. I completed the design with three, gold, dragonflies.

Celebratory Sips Designer Paper has wonderful, bright, colors for butterflies. I began today’s card by using Beautiful Butterflies Dies to cut six wings and bodies from this colorful designer paper. Then, I glued the bodies to the wings, and arranged the butterflies in a circle.

Circle of butterflies
The arrangement seemed to call for a square card, so I cut Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 4 1/4″, folded at 4 1/4″. After layering the card base with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 4″, I glued the butterflies (just the bodies) in place.

I found the perfect, round, sentiment, already stamped, and cut with a Radiating Stitches Die. This die set has retired, but any 1 3/4″ circle would work. The sentiment, “just to brighten your day,” from the Sharing Loving Crafting Stamp Set, completed my “round/square” card.

For today’s card, I had fun using the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder. If you are ordering, please note that the embossing folder comes with the dies. Click on the picture in my Product List below to see all that is included. I began by using the embossing folder with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and gluing it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Hybrid Embossing Folder
Next, I used two Beautiful Butterflies Dies to cut butterflies from Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper. Then, I cut their bodies from Textured Metallic Specialty Paper (purple tone), and glued them to their wings. After gluing, the butterflies flew to their location on the embossed card front.

“Thank you” is from the Mixed labels Stamp Set. I stamped it in Secret Sea Ink, used a Mixed Labels Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

There’s nothing like a good card sketch for inspiration! It reminded me of a letter, so how could I use the Perennial Postage Dies? How would I create the triangle in the left corner?

First, I created a template with a Perennial Postage Die that would fit Basic Beige Cardstock, 4 3/4″ X 3 1/2″. Then, using the template, I cut a pattern of Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper, that blended with the Basic Beige Cardstock.

Before gluing the designer paper, I gave the Basic Beige Cardstock texture with the Damask Designs Embossing Folder. Then, this layer was glued to Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 1/8″ larger, for a 1/16″ border. Both layers were glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I used a Beautiful Butterflies Die to cut butterfly wings from the same designer paper, and its body from Mossy Meadow Cardstock. “Hello” is from the Perfectly Pears Stamp Set. I stamped it in Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic Beige Cardstock, cut with a Perennial Postage Die, and attached with Dimensionals. Beneath the sentiment is a loop of Old Olive & Gold ribbon. To match the ribbon, I added three, Low-Profile Sparkle Dots.

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Old Olive, Strawberry Slush, and Pretty Peacock. I began with a Beautiful Butterflies Die, cutting butterfly wings from 2025-2027 In Color Designer Paper in Strawberry Slush. Then, I used a Beautiful Butterflies Die to cut the butterfly’s body from Pretty Peacock Cardstock.

Butterfly and Text
Next, an Elements Of Text Stamp was used to stamp script in Old Olive Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, I used the second largest Textured Notes Die to cut Basic White Cardstock. This layer was glued to a Pretty Peacock card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1’2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued the butterfly’s body in place, leaving her “see-through” wings free to fly.

“For a great friend” is from the Mixed labels Stamp Set. I stamped it in Old Olive Ink, used a Beautiful Butterflies Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. This “fancy” butterfly wanted to sparkle, so I gave her body some Low-Profile Sparkle Dots.

For those who enjoy Christmas in July, this is for you; my first 2025 Christmas card. There are two, Scenic Adventure Dies, that make perfect pine trees for Christmas cards. The trees look really pretty cut from Season Of Elegance Specialty Designer Paper, and layered for thickness.

Scenic Adventure Christmas
Next, I glued the trees to Season Of Elegance Specialty Designer Paper, cut with a Spotlight On Nature Die. Then, I used a size larger, Spotlight On Nature Die to cut two circles from Season Of Elegance Specialty Designer Paper; one from Cherry Cobbler, and one from Old Olive/Gold. These circles were glued to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Peace On Earth” is from the Shepherd’s Care Stamp Set, a carry-over in the Annual Catalog. I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock, used a Stylish Shapes Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. My first Christmas card for 2025 was complete!
