What does “stepped-up” mean? It means taking a simple card design, and adding details, like die-cuts, dimension, embellishments, etc. I began with a wonderful scene from Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. A simple card would be complete by gluing this to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
I went slightly crazy with my stepped up version, but it was really fun! Using a banner die from Mixed Labels Dies, I made five cuts in the scene. Then, I glued the cut-up scene to the card base. Next, I layered each cut “banner” with cardstock for thickness, added Dimensionals, and replaced them in their holes.

“Stepped-up”
The sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink on designer paper, used its Wonderful Thoughts Die for cutting, layered it for thickness, and glued it in place.
As a last step, I embellished the scene with three, Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots.

It’s time for the “Christmas in July” theme at Global Design Project. Hopefully, our projects will inspire you to get a head start on your holiday cards.
My card began with “JOY,” created with Alphabet a La Mode Dies and Real Red Cardstock. The letters were given dimension by adhering a Foam Adhesive Sheet to the Real Red Cardstock, before placing the letters on top, and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Christmas “JOY”
Next, I needed a limb for hanging the letters, which I found in the Delightful Wishes die set. The Country Woods Designer Paper, used for cutting, gave it a realistic look. After attaching “JOY,” I fussy cut a bird from Nests Of Winter Designer Paper, and attached her with Dimensionals.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Please join us for Christmas in July, and add #gdp507 to your creations, when you post on social media.

How do you like my watercolored pears? Actually, they were stamped with a Perfectly Pears stamp and Darling Duckling Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I added color to the pears with a Blending Brush; one with Old Olive Ink, and one with Flirty Flamingo Ink. The leaves were stamped in Old Olive Ink. After stamping, I used Perfectly Pears Dies for cutting, and glued the stems to the top of the pears.

“watercolored” pears
Next, I used Textured Notes Dies to cut layers for the background. The largest die was used to cut Floral Delight Designer Paper, and the third largest die was used to cut Basic White Cardstock. The layers were glued to a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. After gluing the layers, I used a Perfectly Pears Die to cut two “crisscross” designs from Basic White Cardstock, and glued them in place.

After attaching the pears with Dimensionals, I added three, Holographic Resin Dots. The sentiment is from the Perfectly Pears Stamp Set. “Hello” was stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink, cut with a Perfectly Pears Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

Floral Impressions Designer Paper is so pretty, and today’s card came together quickly with the Just A Note Bundle. I began with a pattern of the designer paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and glued it to a Misty Moonlight card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used a Just A Note Die to cut another pattern of Floral Impressions Designer Paper, and stamped “Just a note” in Night Of Navy Ink. This sentiment is from the Just A Note Stamp Set.

Just a note
Prior to gluing the notebook paper to the card front, I attached two paperclips. These were cut with a Just A Note Die from Textured Metallic Specialty Paper. I love how realistic they are!

To complete the design, I fussy cut several flowers and leaves, and attached them with Dimensionals. And, I added three, Rainbow Dots in Fresh Freesia.

Butterflies and Pears

Welcome to the Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Folds Blog Hop. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along.
The basic design of my Fun Folds card is a Double Easel, “plus” I added holes and circles for extra fun!

Double Easel Plus
To begin, I cut Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 11″, in half, having two pieces, 4 1/4″ X 11″. I scored one at 5 1/2″, and one at 5 1/2″, with the front fold at 2 3/4″, and glued the two together. Then, I cut Floral Impressions Designer Paper: front-4″ X 2 1/2″, middle-4″ X 5 1/4″, and back-4″ X 5 1/4″. After gluing the designer paper to the card base, I used a Stylish Shapes circle die to cut a hole in the middle section.

Next, I used the largest and second largest Stylish Shapes circle dies to cut Thick Basic White Cardstock. I made six cuts, so I would have three, layered, circles. Then, I prepared the flowers and the greenery. The two flowers were cut from Basic White Cardstock, using Impressions Abloom Dies. After cutting, I stamped the flowers with Pretty In Pink Ink and Fresh Freesia Ink. Before gluing the flowers to the circles, I added color with Small Blending Brushes. The centers were cut with Impressions Abloom Dies from Splendid Autumn Designer Paper, and glued in place. The greenery was cut with a Beautiful Motifs Die from Splendid Autumn Designer Paper, layered on Garden Green Cardstock for thickness, and glued to a circle.

The greenery circle was glued to the card base first. Then, I carefully lined up the front, and back, flower circles, and glued them in place. The white center was replaced on the back circle for a personal message.

The sentiment, “celebrating you” is from the Coneflower Celebrations Stamp Set. I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss Ink on Basic White Cardstock, used a Stylish Shapes Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. I hope you enjoyed seeing this Double Easel Plus, as much as I enjoyed making it!
