Frosted Floral was the suite that jumped out at me, when first viewing Stampin’ Up’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. The best word to describe it is, “luscious.”
I began today’s design with a piece of the Frosted Floral “Specialty” Designer Series Paper. It’s “special,” because it’s printed on shimmery paper. This silvery-gray and white print blends beautifully with the Smoky Slate card base.

Frosted Floral Bouquet
Can you see the raised leaves? It’s called the “eclipse technique,” and there have been lots of wonderful projects using letters with this technique.

I thought it would be fun to use the “eclipse technique” with the leaf from the Frosted Bouquet die set. I simply placed the die on a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Frosted Floral DSP, and rolled it through the Big Shot.

I repeated this two more times, placing the leaf where I thought it would be good for my bouquet of flowers. Next, I used the leaf die to cut more leaves for layering, so they would have dimension. Then, I glued the 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece on the Smoky Slate card base, and glued the layered leaves into their proper holes, matching the pattern of the DSP.

The First Frost stamp set provided my three flowers, which I stamped in Merry Merlot on Thick Whisper White cardstock. I love how the stamp gives the flowers a watercolor look.
I used a die in the Frosted Bouquet die set to cut two sprigs from Silver Foil. The sprigs are glued under the flowers at the base, but mostly unattached.
The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set, and cut with a die from the Merry Christmas die set. I stamped the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink on Smoky Slate cardstock to coordinate with the flowers.
The flowers were naturally lifted by the leaves, and the sentiment was raised on dimensionals.

What Will You Stamp? challenge is showcasing the beautiful, First Frost stamp set this week. If you have this stamp set, we would love for you to post your creations in our gallery. You could be selected as our guest designer for the week!

Hopefully, you’ve been inspired. It’s hard not to love this gorgeous stamp set. Have a fabulous day!

Black Friday is finally here! Are you ready to go shopping? Everyone needs flannel pajamas for Christmas! Right? Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper has the perfect red plaid to create these paper pjs. I wish I had an entire pack of this pattern alone; it’s so perfect!

Christmas PJs
The plaid has a thin line of Very Vanilla, so I used Thick Very Vanilla for the card base. Is this pocket not the cutest? I made it with a die from the Pocket die set, and tried to match the “fabric” pattern.

The pocket has folds surrounding it for a natural lift, but I assisted the dimension with Foam Adhesive Strips. While I was at it, I lifted the pocket’s contents as well.

The pine sprig is cut with a Pretty Pines die from Mossy Meadow cardstock. The sentiment, “Here’s to a season filled with warmth, comfort and good cheer!” is from the First Frost stamp set. I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, and used the Everyday Label punch for cutting.

A PJ top has to have buttons, and I found two that matched in my sewing drawer. If you don’t want to take time to hunt for buttons, Stampin’ Up! has ones that would be perfect, which I listed in my Product List below.

Are you doing some gift shopping this weekend? Sometimes it’s fun to mingle in the crowds at the mall, if you aren’t trying to do serious shopping. If that’s not your cup of tea, the computer can get the job done. Don’t forget to check out the sale going on at Stampin’ Up! Nov.23-28. Every two days, a different category from the Annual Catalog will be 10% off! Click on the “Extravaganza” square to go there now!

Thanks for visiting, and have a great day!

Today’s gate fold Gingerbread Christmas card is sweet as can be. A gate fold card offers something a little different, while still fitting in our medium envelope.

Gingerbread Friends
The card base is cut lengthwise from 8 1/2″ X 11″ Merry Merlot cardstock, measuring 4 1/4″ X 11.” Scoring each end at 2 3/4,” makes the two sides meet in the center.
I decorated each side with my own DSP, created with the Buffalo Check background stamp. Using my Stamparatus, I inked the stamp with Merry Merlot, and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. Then, I trimmed two pieces, 2 1/4″ X 4,” and glued them to the card front.

My gingerbread friends (Cookie-Cutter Christmas stamp set) were created by stamping them in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock, and using the Cookie Cutter punch for cutting. These good friends look alike, and think alike. Can you believe they picked out identical tree gifts (Tranquil Tide cardstock) for each other?
Before looking inside, check out the corner detail (Detailed Deer die set) made of sugar (Sparkle Glimmer Paper).

Now for the inside, where the Whisper White cardstock measures 5 1/4″ X 4.” I stamped the sentiment from the Cookie-Cutter Christmas stamp set in Crumb Cake ink, “Wishing you a season as sweet and joyful as the friendship we share.”
This picture will show you where my gingerbread friends found their Christmas trees; cropped right from a die in the Hometown Greetings die set.
The Merry Merlot rectangle (Swirly Frames stamp set) completes the look for the inside of today’s gate fold card.

Two challenges were my inspiration for today’s card. The theme “Sweet Treats” at Paper Players:

A single snowflake and “Merry” sparkle on today’s Christmas card.

A Single Snowflake
The snowflake is from the Seasonal Layers die set, and “Merry” is from The Merry Christmas die set. I cut both from Sparkle Glimmer Paper. You can’t truly appreciate the beauty of this paper without seeing it in person. If it catches the light just right (like a diamond), it sparkles with all the colors of the rainbow.
The card base is Gray Granite cardstock, and I embossed the card front with the Subtle Textured embossing folder. The pretty, patterned paper, which covers approximately two thirds of the card front, is from the Frosted Floral collection.

If you flip this week’s CAS(E) this sketch on its side, you can recognize my layout, and why I needed the Frosted Floral DSP to be sized this way.

I wanted to add “Christmas” to “Merry,” and found the word in the Merry Christmas To All stamp set. I stamped “Christmas” in Basic Gray ink on Frosted Floral DSP, and cut with a label die from the Merry Christmas die set. The label is triple layered, so it has dimension without using dimensionals.
TIP: I used the Stamparatus, because I wanted to stamp the word several times. The shimmery finish on the Frosted Floral DSP makes it more difficult for ink to adhere.
I added three, tiny pearls as the last detail.

Thank you for visiting today. You can see all of the beautiful, Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper, by clicking on the picture in my Product List below.
I hope your day sparkles like a diamond!

Welcome to What Will You Stamp? Today we are featuring the Dashing Deer stamp set, which is perfect timing for making Christmas cards with my favorite deer, Tappy. I named him Tappy a while ago, because of his beautiful coat of tapestry fabric.

Tappy the Dashing Deer

Today, Tappy is stamped in Black ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock, and easily cut with a die in the Detailed Deer die set. I layered him with cardstock, eliminating the need to place dimensionals on his tiny parts. The background of Whisper White is bordered with Basic Black cardstock, which is on a Thick Whisper White card base.
“Happiest Christmas Wishes,” also from the Dashing Deer stamp set, was stamped in Black ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock, and cut with a die from the Merry Christmas die set.

Tappy is standing in a field of red and green flowers (cardstock scraps) made with a die in the Detailed Deer die set. The set has several of these dies, so it doesn’t take that long to run them through the Big Shot. They are popped up on Mini-Dimensionals by request of Tappy.
Tappy also said, “Let’s add some shine,” so I used some Sparkle Glimmer Paper for a few of the flowers, as well as the corner detail. It’s nice having a cooperative reindeer with creative ideas, don’t you think?

The Dashing Deer stamp set and Detailed Deer die set come in a Bundle, which gives you a 10% savings. I’ve listed the sets separately, and in the Bundle, in my Product List below.
Thank you for visiting my blog. If you already have this stamp set, we’d love to see your cards posted in our gallery at What Will You Stamp? Please come join the fun!
