Pinecones on Burlap

The burlap mat is from a square of Pressed Petals Designer Paper, which I fringed on the side with Paper Snips. I made the pinecones with two Beautiful Boughs Dies, using Soft Suede and Early Espresso Cardstock. The Cherry Cobbler berries were made with a Frosted Bouquet Die.

Isn’t the tag adorable? It’s from the Ornate Frames Die Set, complete with a tiny hole for tying the Linen Thread bow. Before tying, I stamped “Happy Christmas,” from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, in Cherry Cobbler Ink.

Behind the mat is a Beautiful Bough, cut from Wrapped In Plaid Designer Paper. The 4″ X 3/4″ plaid band is from the same 6X6″ paper pack.

The background is Whisper White Cardstock, embossed with Eyelet Lace, glued to a Shaded Spruce card base.

Today’s Christmas card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Day Of Thanks Turkey

The Day Of Thanks Stamp Set is perfect for Thanksgiving cards.

Turkey Day

needed to use a large sentiment for this week’s Paper Players challenge.

I stamped “Thanksgiving” in Early Espresso Ink on Pressed Petals Designer Paper, using a Sponge Dauber to ink the word. I’m laughing at my “masking” method, so here’s a picture.

Instead of using “Happy” from the stamp set, I used “Happy” from the Merry Christmas die set. By cutting the large “Happy” from Gold Foil, I made it fit the “loud” requirement of the challenge.

The turkey is also from the Day Of Thanks Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink on See A Silhouette Designer Paper. This is the easy way to color.

I used a Layering Circles Die to cut the turkey and gave him a scalloped border of Gold Foil.

The burlap paper adds texture, while still keeping the design clean & simple. I backed it with Crushed Curry Cardstock, and glued it to a Soft Suede card base.

Daisy Lane Birthday Wishes

Today’s birthday card was inspired by colors: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black.

By Su Mohr for Fab Fri; Click READ or Visit to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Daisy Lane Stamp Set, Stylish Scroll embossing, Ornate Frames Dies, Well Written Dies, Cheers Dies, Medium daisy Punch; #birthdaycards #daisylane #ornateframes #wellwritten #cheers #colorchallenges #colorchallenges #daisies #daisypunch #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #birthdaywishes

Daisy Wishes

The color challenge is from Fab Friday.

The first thing I imagined was a trio of Daisy Lane daisies, stamped in Melon Mambo Ink. I used my Bone Folder to give them shape.

I made a YouTube video, a while ago, to show you how I shaped the daisies, which you can see by clicking on this rainbow daisy card.

The daisy centers are scraps of 6X6″ Regals Designer Paper in Pumpkin Pie. This dot print is retired, but the four new patterns are in my Product List. The centers were easy to cut with the 1/2″ Circle Punch.

Keeping the color simple, I layered Basic Black Cardstock on a Thick Whisper White card base. The top Whisper White layer is embossed by the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder.

Beneath the daisies is Whisper White Cardstock, cut with an Ornate Frames Die, and raised on Dimensionals.

“Wishes” is from Well Written Dies, and the swoosh is from Cheers Dies.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my YouTube video!

Wedding Tree & Lovebirds

It’s always good to have wedding cards on hand, so I’ll step away from holiday cards. Today’s card features a fabulous, “growing” tree, representing growing a life together.

By Su Mohr for GDP; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, Sweet Silhouettes Dies, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Ornate Frames Dies, Botanical Tags Dies, Sparkle Glimmer Paper; #weddingcards #treesoncards #beautifulbouquet #sparkleglimmerpaper #sweetsilhouettesdies #beminestitcheddies #ornateframes #botanicaltags #lovebirds #birdsoncards

Wedding Tree

I used a Sweet Silhouettes Die to cut the tree from Sparkle Glimmer Paper. The tree is intricate, but it cuts out beautifully from this surprisingly strong paper. And, if you’re wondering, the glitter stays put!

For the background, I chose a scroll pattern from In-Colors 6X6 Designer Paper in Purple Posy to match the Purple Posy card base. The layer between is Whisper White Cardstock, which I trimmed with a scalloped die from the Be Mine Stitched Die Set.

The sentiment, “May you grow a wonderful life together,” is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, stamped in Highland Heather Ink. I used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting, to add to the lacy feel.

Sitting atop the framed sentiment are two lovebirds in Whisper White Cardstock. The sweet birds are from a Botanical Tags die, which I snipped from their cage.

I was inspired by the Global Design Project challenge.

Red Rose Bouquet for Christmas

Today’s Christmas card features a red rose bouquet, along with a framed sentiment.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: First Frost Stamp Set, Frosted Bouquet Dies, Ornate Frames Dies, Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, Toile Tidings DSP; #christmascards #holidaycards #firstfrost #frostedbouquet #holiday2109 #ornateframes #flowersoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #cardsketches

Christmas Rose

I began by stamping a flower from the First Frost Stamp Set in Real Red Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. After cutting the flower with its Frosted Bouquet Die, I used my Bone Folder to give it shape.

The stamped piece, directly beneath the rose, was made with Garden Green Ink, Very Vanilla Cardstock, and a die from Frosted Bouquet.

Two more dies were used to make the Garden Green leaves and Very Vanilla “Baby’s Breath.” I used the Subtle Texture Embossing Folder to add interest to the leaves, and dotted the “Baby’s Breath” with Shimmery Crystal Effects.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp set, stamped in Real Red ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Don’t you love how it is framed? I used one of the dies in the new Ornate Frames Die Set, which is pictured in my Product List. Just click on the picture for details, and add it to your shopping cart!

The background for my bouquet is Toile Tidings Designer Paper on a Garden Green card base. I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut the DSP.

The flower theme, stripe, and layout were inspired by TGIF.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you were inspired! Have a great day!

Day Of Thanks Feathers

I like to send Thanksgiving cards to my family, so the Day Of Thanks Stamp Set was included in my last order.

By Su Mohr for cts; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Day Of Thanks Stamp Set, Pressed Petals DSP, See A Silhouette DSP; #clean&simple #thanksgivingcards #dayofthanks #turkey #feathers #feathersoncards #happythanksgiving #cardchallenges #cardsketches #handmadecards #cardmaking #handcrafted #diy

Thanksgiving Feathers

Don’t you like the font of “Happy Thanksgiving?” I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso Ink on Pressed Petals Designer Paper in the burlap pattern.

The sentiment was the main reason I ordered the set, but it wasn’t until I stamped the feather that I realized how fabulous it was.

I stamped the feather in Early Espresso Ink on See A Silhouettes Designer Paper to get the wonderful color. After stamping five feathers on various locations of the DSP, they were easy to cut by hand with my Paper Snips. Then, I raised the feathers on Dimensionals.

The background is from the same Pressed Petals, burlap DSP, adhered to a Soft Suede card base.

I was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch.

Now, this card has me thinking of a song I loved to dance to in the 60’s, “Shake a Tail Feather.” Oh, the good ol’ days! Have a great one!
