Circles are always pretty on cards, and I’m loving the Gold Hoops Embellishments! It’s perfect for hanging this little heart, don’t you think?

Suspended Heart
I began today’s card with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. It’s layered with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die, and embossed with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder.

Next, I tied a bow of Linen Thread on a Gold Hoop Embellishment, and glued (tiny bit of Liquid Glue) it to the card front. The heart was cut with a Be Mine Stitched Die from Brushed Metallic Cardstock, and attached with a Dimensional on top of the ends of the bow.

The sentiment is from the Well Said Stamp Set, which is a great set, because you can mix n’ match the words. I placed the words “love” and “you” next to each other on an Acrylic Block, and stamped in VersaMark on Thick Basic White Cardstock. Then, I sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. It was cut with an Ornate Frames Die, attached with Dimensionals, and another Valentine was complete.

For more inspiration on the theme of “love,” visit Global Design Project. Then, please, make a card, and hang it in our gallery.

Today’s card for Global Design Project has the sentiment, “YOU,” sharing the focal point with a bright bouquet.

Art Gallery & YOU

The first thing I decided was my background paper; a brushstroke pattern from Fine Art Floral Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. This was layered on a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I created “YOU” with Playful Alphabet Dies, a Foam Adhesive Sheet, and a darker section from the same designer paper.

I completed the sentiment with “made my day” from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set. I carefully inked the words in Stazon Ink, eliminating the “you” included on the stamp. Then, I stamped it on a 4″ X 1/2″ piece of the same designer paper. To give it definition, I backed it with Smoky Slate Cardstock.

The bouquet is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, created with the “ink to stamp” technique, using the Stamparatus and Stampin’ Write Markers. I placed a piece of Basic White Cardstock on the Stamparatus, held down by magnets. Then, I positioned the bouquet stamp on the cardstock, lifted it with the lid, colored with the markers, and stamped onto the cardstock. I lifted and stamped, using one color at a time: Smoky Slate, Mango Melody, and Poppy Parade.
The Stampin’ Write Markers in the “Bright” colors are available now, but low inventory. The “Neutral” colors will be available Feb 15, along with the entire collection.
Finally, I used the Floral Gallery Die for cutting my bouquet, and attached it with Dimensionals.

I received the Sand & Sea Suite a few weeks ago, pre-ordered from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and I’ve been waiting to show it to you. It’s so gorgeous, and you can order it tomorrow. Yes, January 5th will finally be here!

Pearlescent Seashells
When I saw the Global Design Project colors, I knew they would be perfect for my first card using this suite.

I’m also sharing with the Paper Players.

This suite is very unique, because of its die-cutting and embossing capabilities. My entire card front was cut with one Seaside Seashell Die (#156095) from Pearlescent Specialty Paper (#154291) 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″.

Then, I embossed the entire piece with the Seashells Embossing Folder (#154309). You can line it up on the inside of the folder, then roll it through your Stampin’ Cut & Embossing Machine. Amazing!

Next, I used Light Petal Pink and Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends to color the embossed areas of the shells and seaweed.
After coloring, I glued it to a Thick Very Vanilla card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
For a touch of Night Of Navy, I stamped the sentiment “thank you” from the stamp set, Friends Are Like Seashells (#154368), and used a Stitched So Sweetly Die for cutting.
Finally, I added three of the fabulous Opal Rounds (#154291).
The entire Sand & Sea Suite Collection is #155980, which includes the numbered items above, plus Sand & Sea Designer Paper (#154288) and Seaside Shells stickers (#154290).

Today’s Global Design Project is the final one for 2021; a two week challenge. I used retiring, and current products, plus a new tool, Blending Brushes.

Peace on earth
I began by using Blending Brushes to color Whisper White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 4″) with Balmy Blue Ink and Highland Heather Ink. The Blending Brushes are a new item in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (#153611), and will be available January 5th. They are so soft, and easy to clean by rinsing with water, you’re going to love them!
Next, I cut Thick Whisper White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 2″) with a Birds & More Die, and glued it across the top of my colored layer. Doesn’t it have a pretty edge?

The card base is Thick Whisper White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
“Peace” was made with two Joy Dies, Silver Foil, Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and attached with Mini Dimensionals. The coordinating stamp set, Peace & Joy, provided the words “on earth” that I stamped in Balmy Blue Ink. The two “peace” dies are shown in the first photo.
Finally, the five bells were made with a Sounds Of The Season Die, Silver Foil, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.

Here is Kerstin’s gorgeous card that we used for inspiration. You can click on it to see how the other GDP designers used Kerstin’s idea.

The stamp set and two die sets that were used for the sentiment are in the Year-End Closeout Sale.

Christmas isn’t complete without snowmen featured on some cards, and Snow Wonder is the perfect bundle for making this happen. You’ll find Snow Wonder on the retiring list, but only because the “bundle” is retiring, not the separate stamp and die sets. So, if you’d like to add this to your collection, now is a good time to order it with the 10% discount as a bundle.
I began by stamping the Snow Wonder snowman in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and using the Snow Time Die for cutting. The scarf and hat were easily colored with Real Red and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.

Winter Joy
The Snowman is holding “joy,” created with a Joy Die , Silver Foil and a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet. The Joy Dies are on the retiring list with a 30% discount. Check out the complete set in my Product List below; three words with three layering possibilities.

The snowman’s background was created with Ornate Layers Dies, current and at regular price. I embossed the smaller, Whisper White layer with one of my favorite embossing folders, Winter Snow. It’s on the retiring list at 50% off, so get it now before it sells out.
I used the larger Ornate Layers Die to cut a pattern of Regals 6X6 Designer Paper, and layered this on a Thick Whisper White card base.

Before gluing the layers together, I rounded the four corners of the card base with the Detailed Trio Punch, a current punch in the Annual Catalog.
The final touch was a glistening bow, created with Metallic Mesh Ribbon, which is not retiring.

Slimline cards have become popular, are easy to make, and fit in a legal sized envelope, 9 1/2″ X 4 1/8″.
I began with Silver Slate Cardstock, 9″ X 8″, folded at 4″, layered with In Good Taste Designer Paper, 1/8″ smaller. This paper adds lots of brushstroke texture without any effort. Don’t you love it? There’s a wonderful variety of In Good Taste paper that you can see in my Product List below.

Slimline Wreath Card
With challenge colors in mind, I used Blending Brushes to color Whisper White Cardstock with Balmy Blue Ink and Highland Heather Ink. The Blending Brushes are a new item in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and will be available January 5th. I chose this coloring method over cardstock, because of the softer look.

Next, I used a Wreath Builder Die to cut one circle of leaves from Balmy Blue, and one from Silver Foil. Another die was used to cut five sprigs from Highland Heather.

“Joy” is from the soon-to-retire Peace & Joy Bundle, which I created using Smoky Slate Cardstock and some Foam Adhesive Sheet for dimension.
“To you and yours” is from the Peace & Joy Stamp Set, stamped in Smoky Slate Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. It was easily cut by hand along the straight lines, and raised on Mini Dimensionals.
The last detail was adding a few Woven Threads Sequins.
