I always make gift card holders for Christmas gifts (see below), but today’s gift card holder is for saying “thank you.” My idea began, because the tropical plant in the Island Vibes Stamp Set fits perfectly on a Stampin’ Up! Note Card. Check out the Note Cards in my Product List. You get eight, Thick Basic White Cardstock, and they come with envelopes. What a deal!
Island Vibe Gift Card Holder
The Island Vibes Stamp Set, #158096, is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration items you can earn with a qualifying order of $50. Sale-a-bration begins January 4, 2022, and runs through February 28, 2022, co-ordinating with our 2022 January-June Mini Catalog. You are going to love it!
To color the tropical plant, I used the “ink to stamp” technique. This is done by placing the stamp on the lid of the Stamparatus. Then, you color the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers, and lower the lid to the Stamparatus platform, where the Note Card is held in place with magnets. You can add color as you go, until you get satisfying coverage.
I must give you a warning about the magnets. They are very strong, can snap together, break apart, and scare you to death! But, they do a great job of holding the paper in place, and you’ll learn to keep them separated.
While the Note Card was on the Stamparatus, I stamped “Thanks” in Bermuda Bay Ink, and “friend” in Stazon Black Ink. The sentiment is from the Biggest Wishes Stamp Set, which is in our current, annual catalog.
After stamping, I added a border to the Note Card by scoring it with my Paper Trimmer, 1/4″ on all sides.
Turning the Note Card into a gift card holder was a breeze. I cut Brights 6″X6″ Designer Paper in the color of Bermuda Bay, 4 3/4″ X 2 1/4″, and attached it to the inside with Tear & Tape along the bottom and sides. Prior to attaching, I punched a finger notch at the top.

Once again I’m using the gorgeous, Friendly Hello Designer Paper, offered during 2020 Sale-a-bration. It is paired with the Friendly Hello Stamp Set, FREE with a qualifying $100 order, available January 4th.
For today’s card, I used the Tailor Made Tags Dies to cut two tags, layered them for thickness, and added Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the top.
Before adding Dimensionals to the back of the tags, I stamped the sentiment.
“Hello” and “friend” are from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. Prior to cutting, I glued the striped paper (3″ wide”) to the white paper, the size of the card front.
After gluing and attaching, I couldn’t help but embellish with the new Iridescent Rhinestones.

It’s always nice to have a quick & easy gift tag design, and I love the Giving Gifts Dies, which I used today. This set is a “Last Chance” product, only while supplies last; order now! I also used the Tailor Made Tags Dies, which have temporarily sold out, but are expected back in stock the week of January 24.
Easy Gift Tags
For this project, I needed to make 10 tags. By cutting Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 11″, in half at 4 1/4″, you can make 10 large tags from one sheet.
As you can see in the photo above, the Santa die fits inside the Tailor Made Tags Die. This simplifies the process, because you can run them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine at the same time.
Next, I used the same tag die to cut from Pool Party, Just Jade, and Misty Moonlight Cardstock. Then, using pin dots of Liquid Glue, I glued the two together. I also glued the hole reinforcer, because it’s so cute. To tie the tag to a gift, I used Simply Elegant Trim in silver.
Prior to gluing everything, I stamped “to” and “from” (Snowman Season Stamp Set) on the back, in Shaded Spruce Ink.
Would you like to see a completed gift? I found some coordinating gift wrap, taped Metallic Mesh Ribbon around the middle, and tied on the tag. My team members will be receiving these gifts. Shhhh, don’t tell.

Today’s clean & simple, “sneak peek,” developed from experimenting with Stampin’ Up’s Soft Pastels. Sky is a great background for many things, so I gently applied the Coastal Cabana Soft Pastel to Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.
Holding the stick lengthwise, I used a circular motion, then rubbed it in with my index finger. To make sure all of the powder was absorbed, I continued rubbing with a tissue. I’m sure there are other methods, but this is what I did.
Amazing Silhouettes
There were so many options for my pretty, blue sky, it was hard to decide. But, since I was experimenting, I decided to use a new stamp set, Amazing Silhouettes. I love silhouettes, and this was a gift to all of the OnStage Attendees. Lucky us! All Demonstrators will be able to order the set starting tomorrow, December 1, and everyone can order it January 4, 2022.

Next, I stamped the tree in Granny Apple Green Ink, in the middle of the blue background. So pretty; I admired it for a while. Then, I tried several colors for the card base, and chose Soft Sea Foam, 8 1/2 X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
“Thinking of you,” is from the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set, stamped in Granny Apple Green, and cut with its Beautiful Trees Die. I probably thought of it, because this current bundle is all about trees. You can see it in my Product List below.
The sentiment was stamped on Thick Basic White Cardstock with a touch of the Soft Pastel. And, for a little more color, I used the Beautiful Trees Die to cut another label from Pattern Party Designer Paper. This was glued to the sentiment, before attaching it with Dimensionals, and my clean & simple, “sneak peek,” was complete.

If you don’t own the Stitched Rectangles Dies, you NEED them. They make “quick and easy” cards with precision layering, without measuring. And, there’s the added benefit of a nice detailed edge with stitching.
For today’s “quick & easy” card, I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut the pretty, striped, Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper, and glued this to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The next layer, also Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper, was cut with the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die, and attached with Dimensionals. Isn’t the pink, snowflake paper beautiful?
Next, the wreath was created with two Seasonal Swirls Dies. One was used to cut Thick Basic White Cardstock, and one to cut Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper in Mint Macaron. These were glued to the card front with tiny dots of Liquid Glue.
The sentiment, “to you and yours,” is from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, and used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. After adding a bow of Silver Simply Elegant Trim, I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals.
Finally, I embellished the wreath with three, tiny, Rhinestones, and my “quick & easy” holiday card was complete.

The Scalloped Contours Dies are a favorite, but the Color & Contour Stamp Set shouldn’t be overlooked. For today’s card, I’m using the “bundle,” and you can see all of my supplies in the Product List below.
Color & Contour
I began by stenciling Pool Party dots on Very Vanilla Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 /12″. This was done by placing one of the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks on top of the cardstock, and using a Sponge Dauber to apply the ink. It’s so easy, with great results, every beginner should give it a try.
The ink was applied on a diagonal, leaving empty space in the upper right, and lower left, corners.
After stenciling, I used the largest Scalloped Contours Die to cut the cardstock to size. Then, placing it on my Stamparatus, I stamped the bouquet, single leaf, and sentiment in Pool Party Ink. All of these fun stamps are in the Color & Contour Stamp Set.
Next, I stamped two flowers; one in Pale Papaya Ink, and one in Pool Party Ink, and used the die for cutting. This was the most difficult part, requiring some twirling of the die to match the stamped flowers.
After attaching the flowers with Dimensionals, I added several Artistry Blooms sequins to their centers, shown in the first photo. They are self-adhesive, making them super easy to apply.
