I haven’t seen the aurora borealis in person, but from pictures I’ve seen, this New Horizons Designer Paper made me think of it. After trimming the New Horizons Paper to 4″ X 5 1/4″, I used a Majestic Mountain Die to cut the tree from Rainbow Glimmer Paper.
Aurora Borealis
Prior to gluing the scene to a Night Of Navy card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) I used three Windmill Fields Dies to cut the clouds from the designer paper. Then, I raised the clouds on Dimensionals for added interest. It’s so easy to make beautiful cards with this paper, I had to do something to make it more complicated. LOL.
I found this sentiment in the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, which seemed perfect: “Sending healing thoughts, may nature’s beauty bring peace to your soul.” I stamped it in Night Of Navy Ink on New Horizons DSP, used two Stitched Rectangles Dies for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. I took a picture, so you could see how I made the stitched shape fit the sentiment.
Nature has a way of making us feel better, doesn’t it?

It’s nice to have sympathy cards on hand, and the New Horizons Designer Paper is perfect for these occasions. Today’s card was especially easy to make. I chose one of the beautiful scenes, and cut the 6X6 designer paper with the largest Ornate Layers Die. It reminds me of Lake Arrowhead, but could be anywhere your imagination takes you.
Sympathy Lake
Next, I added texture with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. Now it really looks like watercolor on a canvas.
I usually stamp the sentiment before embossing, but I got ahead of myself, and stamped after embossing. Using the Stamparatus, I was able to get a nice, dark, sentiment with Memento Black Ink. “With Sympathy” is from the Sale-a-bration, Special Moments Stamp Set; a great set with 21 stamps. After stamping, I glued my watercolored scene to a Basic Gray card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
For a final touch, I added three, Epoxy tear drops.

Today’s card is clean & simple; a string of hearts, “tied” together with an apropos sentiment.
Hearts Strung Together
“My heart is tied to yours…tug if you need anything” is from the Eden’s Garden Stamp Set, one of my favorites! There’s enough space between the lines in the sentiment that I was able to mask and stamp prior to cutting. I stamped the words on Simply Marbleous Designer Paper in Memento Black Ink, used a Beautiful Trees Die for cutting, and placed the labels on Mini-Dimensionals.
The colorful hearts were cut with Sweet Hearts Dies from Sweet Hearts Designer Paper, and placed on Mini-Dimensionals. The hearts were “strung” with Thick Basic White Cardstock, cut with a Tulips Die that is actually a stem. You can see it in my Product List below. I love this stem!
The background is Simply Marbleous Designer Paper (a free Sale-a-bration option) 4″ X 5 1/4″, layered on a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

This is the last day for the SEASONAL SALE! Details are below by my “shop” button.
ALL of the dies, inks and cardstock in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog have been discounted during this three day sale, November 16-18.
I have pictures and links to my store for all 75 die sets (20% discount). The cardstock (10% discount) and inks (15% discount) are on pages 122 and 123.
For today’s card, the last day of the sale, it seemed appropriate for me to use my favorite dies. I’ll admit, I have lots of favorites, but the Ornate Frames Dies and Ornate Layers Dies have had the most use. I combined them today, with the Meadow Dies, for a sympathy card.
Quiet Meadow
I began with a Thick Basic White card base, the one I use most often, 8 1/2″ X 4 1/4″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used the largest Ornate Layers Die to cut Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper. After “flicking” a spray of dots on the paper, with a Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend, I glued the beautiful sky to the card base.
Next, I used three Meadow Dies to cut foliage from Basic White Cardstock and Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper. The dies are in the first photo above. I glued the two white flowers first, followed by the green branch on top.
The sentiment, “Heartfelt love and caring thoughts are with you,” is from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. I stamped it in Night Of Navy Ink on the same, Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting. After backing it with cardstock for thickness, I attached it with Dimensionals.
Finally, I punctuated the sentiment with five, tiny pearls.

Today’s card was created with two of my favorite Sale-a-bration items: Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set and Summer Shadows Dies. If you look at the items in my Product List below, you’ll notice the price is $0.00. That’s because they are FREE with a $100.00 order! Don’t you love free stuff?
The first thing I did for this clean & simple, sympathy card, was cut five flowers from Vellum, using Summer Shadows Dies.
Dalias Sympathy
I just used two of the dies, but look at all the dies you get in the set!
Next, I decided on a background of a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with Expressions In Ink Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Before gluing the designer paper to the card base, I stamped “sending heartfelt sympathy,” from the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set, in Shaded Spruce Ink.
To avoid making a mistake on my pretty designer paper, I stamped the sentiment using the Stamparatus, a great positioning tool. It was also helpful that the Delicate Dahlia stamps are photopolymer, because you can see through them.
Lastly, I secured the large flower with Liquid Glue around the center, leaving the petals free. The four smaller flowers are on Mini Dimensionals, with strategically placed Artistry Blooms Sequins. Sneaky way to cover Dimensionals, huh?
