Favored Flowers Sneak Peek and FREE SHIPPING Announcement

Before I share this sneak peek, I have to let you know there will be FREE SHIPPING on Thursday, December 15…one day only! It’s a savings you don’t want to miss!

Today’s card is another sneak peek of Favored Flowers Designer Paper, because I couldn’t stop cutting the flowers with the Fragrant Flowers dies! I even cut all the half flowers along the sides. Once you try this, you’ll know what I mean. LOL

Raindrops Sympathy

To anchor the flowers, I used an Organic Beauty Die to cut a trellis from Basic Black Cardstock. Then, I snipped it to size.

Behind the trellis is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″ with a rectangle of Petal Pink. I created this by cutting a template with a Stitched Rectangles Die, and using a Blending Brush for coloring with Petal Pink Ink.

Prior to gluing the layer to a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I embossed it with the Raindrop Embossing Folder. This folder is my Host Code Gift for the month of December, and it can work as tear drops on sympathy cards.

The sentiment, “with sympathy” is from the Ginkgo Branch Stamp Set, one of my favorites from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. Wait until you see this bundle! I stamped the words in Memento Black Ink, used a Potted Succulents Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Seaside Bay Sneak Peek #simplestamping

I was excited to receive the Seaside Bay Bundle in my pre-order, and wanted you to see how great it is for #simplestamping. That means, with just stamps, ink, and paper, you can create this sympathy card in a jiffy.

By Su Mohr for #simplestamping; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring Seaside Bay Stamp Set, By The Bay DSP; #seasidebay #bythebay #birdsoncards #sanderlings #beachscenes #january-april2023minicatalog #simplestamping #sympathy cards #quickandeasycards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr

Seaside Bay #simplestamping

The 6″ X 6″ By The Bay Designer Paper is gorgeous, and you get 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.

For today’s card I cut one of the designs, 5 1/4″ X 4″, and glued it to a Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at  4 1/4″.

I simply stamped the Sanderling birds, in Espresso Ink, right on the By The Bay Designer Paper. The birds are together on one stamp, which makes it even easier!

This was followed by stamping the sand in Crumb Cake Ink, and “heartfelt sympathy” in Night Of Navy Ink. I used a Stamparatus to insure my stamping was as dark as I wanted, and that’s all there was to it!

For more advanced card making, the Seaside Bay Bundle includes Seaside Bay Dies. There are 16 dies in the set, and some of them cut images from the designer paper. How fun!

Ordering begins January 5, 2023, and if you are one of my faithful customers, I ordered a catalog for you that Stampin’ Up! will be sending during the next few weeks. Until then, enjoy my sneak peeks, and shop “Last Chance” and “clearance.”

Quiet Meadow Sympathy Card

Today’s clean & simple sympathy card required a bit of prep work. I began by selecting three shades of yellow ink; Mango Melody, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, plus dark brown, Early Espresso ink.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for the details! Featuring: Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, Stylish Shapes Dies, Blending Brushes; #quietmeadow #stylishshapes #blendingbrushes #template #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stylishshapes #sympathycard #cas #cleanandsimple #sumohr #stamping #stampinup #flowersoncards

Clean & simple sympathy card

Next, I used the second smallest, square, Stylish Shapes Die to cut three squares in Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I placed it on top of identical cardstock, securing it with removable tape. As I was coloring with Blending Brushes, I was careful to mask the areas I didn’t want my brush to color.

After coloring, I glued this layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The flowers and sentiment are from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink. Other than making the template, my sympathy card could qualify as #simplestamping; just stamps, ink and paper.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Soft Seedlings Single Layer Card

For the last day of September, I created a single layer card. With the exception of using Blending Brushes, it’s #simplestamping, just stamps, ink, and paper.  It was totally inspired by the Fusion challenge; the photo, colors, and sketch. I was surprised how the paint colors match Stampin’ Up’s colors perfectly!

I used Blending Brushes on Basic White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″) with five colors of ink, in this order: Pool Party, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze.

By Su Mohr for Fusion; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Blended Beauty

The Soft Seedlings Stamp Set has beautiful images, and I stamped the large leaf in Cajun Craze Ink.

The sentiment, “Sending healing thoughts, may nature’s beauty bring peace to your soul,” is from the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, stamped in Crumb Cake Ink, which matches the Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4.” I stamped the sentiment to provide the line in the sketch, which I wouldn’t have thought to do without the challenge.

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives #1 and #2 August 2022

This month’s Paper Pumpkin, Sweet Sunflowers, is beautiful, and I’ve been on a roll making alternatives. I’ll be sharing them for the next few days.

The first card uses the green card base, layered with a sheet of the honeycomb (white side up, and gold foil side down), both from the kit. Then, I used a Deckled Rectangles Die to cut a piece from one of the decorative envelopes, 2 1/2″ X 4″, and placed it on Dimensionals.

By Su Mohr for Paper Pumpkin; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring Paper Pumpkin August 2022, Deckled Rectangles Dies, Soft Sea Foam Ribbon, Stampin' Blends; #paperpumpkin #paperpumpkinalternatives #paperpumpkinaugust2022 #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #stamping #stampinup #cardkits #cardalternatives #sumohr #sunflowers #sweetsunflowers

Sweet Sunflowers alternative #1

Next, I stamped the sunflower in Crushed Curry Ink on Basic White Cardstock, colored the petals with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, and stamped the center in Mossy Meadow Ink. After fussy cutting with Paper Snips, I attached the flower with Dimensionals.

“Thank you” is from the Sweet Sunflowers Stamp Set, stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink on a label from the kit. I added a bow of Soft Sea Foam.

Card #2 is changed simply by placing the ready-made card front on a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The background color gives it the feeling of a sympathy card, don’t you think? In keeping with that idea, I chose a sentiment from a retired stamp set, Itty Bitty Greetings, and stamped it in Basic Gray on the label.

The Sweet Sunflowers Stamp Set, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Crushed Curry Ink, Soft Suede Ink, Honeycomb Sheets, sentiment labels, punch-outs (bees and flowers), 9 decorative envelopes, 9 card bases, and directions, are included in the kit. Everything not included in the kit is in my Product List below.

Come back tomorrow for more alternative ideas!
