Today’s card was a color challenge, using Basic Black, Berry Burst, and Petal Pink. My first thought was to stamp the large, intricate, bee from the Queen Bee Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. Fortunately, this stamp set has carried over to Online Exclusives, and is now available!

Beloved Queen
After stamping the bee, I used a Queen Bee Die for cutting, and placed it on Dimensionals. The Queen Bee Dies have sold out, but you could fussy cut the bee. Other options would be to leave the bee flat, or stamp the bee on a square or circle that could be die cut and raised.

For the bee’s background, I stamped on Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″, using stamps from the Queen Bee stamp set and the challenge colors.
A Berry Burst Stampin’ Write Marker was used to color the heart on the bee, and add tiny dots to the Petal Pink flowers. These markers are re-designed this year, and come in packs of ten colors by color collection.
“Happy” and “birthday” are two more words in the stamp set, and will most likely go on the inside. You can see the complete set in my Product List below.
After stamping, I used the largest Scalloped Contours Die to give it an interesting border. I attached the layer with Dimensionals to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and my color challenge card was complete.

I was challenged by TGIF.

This Zoo Crew cycling crocodile is delivering birthday wishes. I began today’s card with Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper in a Lemon Lime Twist pattern (4″ X 5 1/4″). If you haven’t heard, Stampin’ Up! is having a “color refresh” this year, and this is a returning color. It happens to be the crocodile’s favorite color; I wonder why!
Before gluing this fun pattern to the Lemon Lime Twist card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) I gave it some extra pizzazz with a Beautiful Balloons Die. I LOVE this fringe die, and discovered it works best if going through the Stampin Cut & Emboss machine vertically, rather than horizontally.

Cycling Crocodile
Next, I fussy cut the cute crocodile from the Zoo Crew Designer Paper, and placed him on Dimensionals. There are 30 different animals in this pack of designer paper, if you can believe it!

The Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper coordinates with the Beautiful Balloons Bundle. “Happy Birthday” is in the Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set, which fits perfectly in this Beautiful Balloons die cut. Just when you thought you didn’t need another balloon!
I stamped “Happy Birthday” in VersaMark on Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. The balloon was attached with Dimensionals, and glued where it meets the string.
Before attaching the balloon, or the crocodile, I stamped the string, so the crocodile could hold it in his mouth.

I was inspired by The Paper Players: bright colors, die-cut, birthday.

Places In the Heart is a perfect stamp set for Mother’s Day cards, which you can see in my Product List below. Today’s card was created especially for my daughter’s first Mother’s Day celebration.
I began by cutting the parts of the wreath. The “frame” was cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock, using an Irresistible Blooms Die. This is a popular die set that was out of stock for a while, but is available again in Online Exclusives.
The three flowers were cut with Cheerful Daisies Dies from Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper, and the centers from Gold Foil. I used the same flower die to get the exact centers. The three branches, also a Cheerful Daisies Die, were cut from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock.

Mother’s Day
The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “when a child is born, so is a mother,” is from the Places In The Heart Stamp Set. I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink, and used the smallest circle in the Stylish Shapes Die Set for cutting, and was delighted that it fit perfectly.

I was inspired by TGIF.

The 2023-2024 Annual Catalog is “LIVE!”
“Live” means that all of the wonderful products in the new, 2023-2024 Annual Catalog can now be ordered! Clicking the banner above will take you to a digital copy of the catalog. And, there will always be a digital copy of it on my blog, on the side or bottom of the page.
I’m happy to share a favorite suite from the new catalog, Fresh As A Daisy. One of the color combos in the designer paper is Copper Clay and Boho Blue, two of our new 2023-2025 In Colors. Aren’t they pretty together?
I began by preparing the background to go with the Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper, a 3 7/8″ X 2 5/8″ section, glued to the top of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Prior to gluing the layer to a Boho Blue card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″), I used a Beautiful Balloons Die to cut three rows across the bottom. Doesn’t it make a fun texture?

Copper Clay and Boho Blue Daisies
Next, I stamped one large daisy and two small daisies in Copper Clay Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used their dies for cutting. Then, I stamped five leaves, and the flower centers in Boho Blue, using dies to cut the leaves and the large flower center. The centers of the small flowers were stamped directly on the flowers. After gluing the leaves to the flowers, I attached them with Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “you made my day,” is from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set, stamped in Copper Clay Ink, cut with a Sending Die, and attached with Dimensionals.
I couldn’t help but add a few Copper Clay 2023-2025 In Color Dots.

Happy May 1st! Tomorrow is a big day, because the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog goes live! That means you’ll be able to order what I’m showing you today. Check out the wonderful new colors: Moody Mauve, Bubble Bath, and Wild Wheat.

Oops-a-daisy
For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) Charlet Mallett’s beautiful card. See how our designers “cased” Charlet, then join in the fun, and add your design to our gallery.

I began with a pattern of Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used the fourth largest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, which I colored with a Stampin’ Blend in a new color, Bubblebath. It’s a gorgeous, pale pink, and sure to be a favorite!
After coloring the background, I used the “ink to stamp” technique to add the three flowers and stems from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set. I could have used my ink pad, but my Stampin’ Write Marker was handy, so I just colored the stamp, and pressed it onto the paper.

Next, I created the 3D daisy with Basic White Cardstock and Cheerful Daisies Dies. The leaves and flower center were cut from Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper.

The sentiment, “Oops-a-Daisy so sorry,” is from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set; isn’t it cute? I stamped it in VersaMark on Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. Then, I used a Cheerful Daisies Die for cutting, glued 2/3 to the center layer, and placed a Dimensional beneath the part that hangs over.
After attaching the center layer, and my 3D daisy with Dimensionals, I added three, Brushed Brass Butterflies, and my CASE was complete.

Today’s card is another sneak peek, featuring a Zoo Crew ballerina, Claire the cat. She was already colored, and begging to be fussy cut from the designer paper. Isn’t she adorable?

Claire the Ballerina
Claire needed a sentiment, and I found the perfect one in the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle. This is another, favorite, new product in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. We still have the carry-over, Charming Sentiments, and now we have 14 additional sentiments with dies that match the contours of the words. This new set also includes a fabulous floral die that I used to cut the Pool Party flowers. Claire wanted the flowers to match the flower on her skirt, and I agreed it was a good idea.

Claire’s background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Scalloped Contours Die, embossed with a 3D Basics Embossing Folder. After embossing, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I attached Claire and her sentiment with Dimensionals, and Claire was ready to dance her way into your heart.
