Queen Bee and Dainty Flowers

Happy Valentine’s Day! I thought it was appropriate to use “bee loved.”

Today’s card has been in my thoughts for some time, and it finally came to fruition. The Queen Bee Stamp Set has a wonderful, intricate, bee that I stamped in Early Espresso Ink on Dainty Flowers Designer Paper. This designer paper is a FREE Sale-a-bration item from the original brochure for January. There are ten additional, FREE gift items for February, which you can see below.

“Bee Loved”

Prior to stamping the Queen Bee, I prepared her background. The card base is Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This is layered with Soft Succulent Cardstock, 5 3/8″ X 4 1/8″. The Dainty Flowers Designer Paper is 5″ X 4″. There are six wreaths on this 12″ X 12″ pattern (12 wreaths in a pack), and you can see how they are begging for a focal point.

After gluing the layers, I added a few details. Can you see the little dots? There’s a cute dot stamp in the set, which I used with Old Olive Ink. The sentiment, “beloved” was stamped in Early Espresso Ink, cut with a Ranunculus Die, and attached with Mini Dimensionals. Lastly, I used two Queen Bee Dies to cut some honeycomb and a couple tiny hearts, all from Dainty Flowers Designer Paper.

Around The Bend Bouquet for Global Design Project 381

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge: Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, and Blushing Bride.

I began by coloring Basic White Cardstock with Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends, careful not to harm the tip.

By Su Mohr for GDP 381; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Around The Bend Dies, Deckled Rectangles Dies, Dainty Flowers DSP, Ginkgo Branch Stamp Set; #aroundthebend #ginkgobranch #deckledrectangles #daintyflowers #flowersoncards #thinkingofyoucards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #colorcombos #colorchallenges #gdp381 #stamping #stampinup #sumohr

Around The Bend Bouquet

After coloring, I used Around The Bend Dies to cut six large petal rounds, and three small centers. Then, I placed Dimensionals between the two large rounds, and glued the small center on top. The leaves were cut from a pattern of Dainty Flowers Designer Paper in Blushing Bride.

The sentiment is from the Ginkgo Branch Stamp Set. Don’t you love this font? I wish my handwriting looked like that! I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die for cutting.

After gluing this background to a Thick Basic White card base, I attached the flowers with Dimensionals, and tucked the leaves around them with glue.

Be sure to see how our designers used the colors. Then, create your own design to hang in our gallery.

Rejoice In Him Easter Card

For my second Easter card of the year, I’m using the Rejoice In Him Stamp Set, new from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Rejoice In Him, Dainty Flowers DSP; #rejoiceinhim #daintyflowers #SAB2023 #eastercards #religiouseastercards #flowersoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup #sumohr

He is Risen!

This panel design is very simple, especially when you have gorgeous designer paper, like Dainty Flowers. This paper is a FREE Sale-a-bration item, with a qualifying $50 order, as long as supplies last. I began by cutting two pieces, 2 1/4″ X 3 1/2″, Then I backed them with Rich Razzleberry cardstock, 2 3/8″ X 3 5/8″.

Next, I stamped “He is Risen” in Rich Razzleberry Ink on Dainty Flowers Designer Paper, 1 3/8″ X 1″, backed with Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, 1 1/2″ X 1 1/8″.

After gluing the designer paper, and backing, I glued the panels to a Fresh Freesia card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and attached the sentiment with Dimensionals.

For extra detail, I added a Crushed Curry Cardstock flower with a Soft Suede Cardstock center, attached with a Dimensional. The flower was cut with Dainty Flowers Dies.

Eden Die-Cuts

Next, I topped the leafy background with a wreath, cut with an Eden Die from Dainty Flowers Designer Paper. The designer paper and die are two of my favorite Sale-a-bration items, both FREE during the month of February, as long as supplies last. You can see the entire Eden’s Garden Bundle in the list below.

The bunny was cut with the Easter Bunny Punch , also from Dainty Flowers Designer Paper, layered on cardstock for thickness, and attached with Dimensionals. The Easter Bunny Punch was so popular, I’m sorry to say, it is now out of stock until mid May.

The sentiment, “Easter Blessings,” is from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set. I stamped it in Rich Razzleberry Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the Double Oval Punch for cutting the plain oval. The scalloped oval was cut from Dainty Flowers Designer Paper.

The leaves beneath the sentiment were cut with an Eden Die from Mossy Meadow Cardstock.

Sneak Peek of Irresistible Blooms

Stampin’ Up! is starting a new, exciting, program of “online exclusives.” I was able to pre-order one of the bundles, named Irresistible Blooms, which I think you will find “irresistible.” This bundle, along with more products will be available March 1! If you can’t wait until March, you can order it now, and put it in your Starter Kit. More info and my “join” button is below. Contact me for the Irresistible Blooms item numbers, [email protected].

Irresistible Blooms Sneak Peek

I began with a Lost Lagoon card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This is a color we’ll hear more about March 1.

For the next step, I was experimenting with the long, unusual, Irresistible Die. I used it to cut a piece of Hello Irresistible Designer Paper, which it separated. I decided to use Thick Basic White Cardstock to make a second cut, and place the die-cut between the two sections of Designer Paper. Because the die-cut falls apart when you cut off the ends, next time, I’ll leave the ends in tact until after gluing.

The flowers and leaves were easily cut from the Hello Irresistible Designer Paper, one of the things I love about Stampin’ Up’s coordination. Sixteen of the 6″ X 6″ sheets of DSP have dies that will cut the images. I glued the smaller flower flat, and attached the larger flower and leaves with Dimensionals.

“I like you,” is one of five sentiments in the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set. It was stamped in Soft Succulent Ink, cut with a Potted Succulents Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

For a little sparkle, I added three Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins, which happens to be my Host Code Gift this month. See details below.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Spring Blessings for the Pals Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, our blog hop theme made projects to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week, which is February 14-20! We hope you will be inspired by all the beautiful creations the Pals made for you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

The Spring Blessings Stamp Set caught my eye the first time I turned the pages of the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. It is so unique, and I decided to create with it for the first time, today.

I began with a slim line card base, thinking it would best accommodate what I envisioned. I cut soft Sea Foam Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 7″, folded at 3 1/2″, and layered it with Dainty Flowers Designer Paper, 8 1/4″ X 3 1/4″. This designer paper is a favorite, FREE, Sale-a-bration item. Check out the ten, additional Sale-a-bration FREE gifts for February, listed below.

Spring Blessings

Prior to gluing the layer to the card base, I used a Queen Bee Die to cut the half-circle wreath from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. The wreath was used to measure the distance between the girls, so they could hold it with their hands. Then, I stamped the girls, from the Spring Blessings Stamp Set, in Early Espresso Ink on the Dainty Flowers Designer Paper.

I colored their skin with an Ivory Stampin’ Blend, and their hair with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends. Their dresses were stamped in stars (Old Olive Ink) and flowers (Mango Melody Ink). I also stamped some grass in Old Olive Ink, and flowers in her hair with a Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Marker.

After gluing the wreath in place, I decorated it with five, Loose Flower Flourishes, an embellishment in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

The sentiment, “Hoping this spring brings you many blessings,” is one of five sentiments in the Spring Blessings Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink on Dainty Flowers Designer Paper, used a Queen Bee Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

My card is ready to send for Random Acts of Kindness Week, along with more of my handmade cards.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on March 8th, when our theme will be Party Time, showcasing cards/projects that celebrate our family and friends.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.
