I fell in love with TGIF’s inspirational photo, so I had to CASE (copy and selectively edit) it.

I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, which I embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder.
Next, I cut a square of Basic White Cardstock, 3″ X 3″, and stamped the sentiment in Stazon Black Ink. “Happy Birthday” is from the Artistically Ink Stamp Set, and “sending you this paper hug” is from Through It Together. Then, I cut a square of Basic Black Cardstock 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16″ border.

Birthday Hugs
The corner, focal point, was stamped with the Artistically Inked stamps and cut with coordinating Artistic Dies. I stamped the larger flower in Polished Pink, the smaller flower in Daffodil Delight, and the leaves in Gray Granite. The purple was cut with a Dainty Delight Die from Highland Heather Cardstock.

After gluing, and attaching the flowers, I added three Iridescent Pearls, and my CASE was complete.

Welcome to this week’s Global Design Project, a sketch challenge. Since love is in the air with the making of Valentines, I decided to use some of my favorite By The Bay Designer Paper with the word, “LOVE.”

I began with a Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and embossed it with the Seashells Embossing Folder.

Next, I used the third largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut By The Bay Designer Paper, careful to choose one with a vertical line to mimic the sketch.

After gluing the designer paper in the middle of my card front, I created the letters for “LOVE.” Before running the Alphabet Dies and By The Bay Designer Paper through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, I attached a Foam Adhesive Sheet (1 3/4″ X 1 3/4″) to give the letters dimension. For added fun, I fussy cut a round shell to take the place of “O.”

“Love you to the beach & back,” is from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set, stamped in Starry Sky Ink on By The Bay Designer Paper, and cut with a Deckled Rectangles Die. I used two cuts to make it the desired size.
After adding a Flat Adhesive Backed Pearl to the sentiment, something was still missing. I had no idea what would happen when I started pulling on the Night Of Navy Bordered Ribbon, but it became a delightful surprise! Doesn’t it look like sea anemones? I glued the two pieces in place, and my beach, love, card was complete.

The “book binding” card design is an easy technique, making a standard card opening, slightly different.
I began by cutting 8 1/2″ X 11″ Thick Basic White Cardstock in half at 4 1/4″, which will make two cards. Score the 11″ X 4 1/4″ cardstock half at 5 1/2″ and 6 1/2″. Then, fold, burnish, and glue the 1″ section to the 5 1/2″ section. My fourth photo lets you see how it opens.
To decorate the “book”, I used the front and back of one sheet of Dandy Designs Designer Paper for the “binding” and “cover.” The stripe is 7/8″ X 4 1/8″, and the dot is 4 3/8″ X 4 1/8″. I used the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder to give texture to the dotted paper.

Book Binding Technique
Now, for the really fun part! I stamped limes (the insides), from the Sweet Citrus Stamp Set in Parakeet Party Ink on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock. Then, I stamped the rinds in Pear Pizzazz Ink. I used my Stamparatus for placement, and stamping more than once for darker color. After stamping, I used the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder for the wonderful texture you see, followed by the Sweet Citrus Die for cutting. The die is in one piece, but it cuts out separate pieces.

After attaching the fruit with Dimensionals, I stamped “Happy Birthday,” from the Something Fancy Stamp Set, in Bermuda Bay Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used its Something Fancy Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

Because this card is mimicking a book, I had to open the cover to let you see inside, right?
“Sending you a big squeeze” is from the Sweet Citrus Stamp Set, stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I used two of the Something Fancy Dies for cutting and layering the sentiment.

I’m on a roll with Valentines, and the January-April 2023 Catalog has wonderful products for making them. Today, I’m using the Love For You Bundle and Country Floral Lane Designer Paper on pages 8-11.
I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Thick Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, cut with a Split Card Textures Die. This die set was popular, and sold out for a while, but it’s back in stock now.

So Much Love
Next, I used Paper Snips to cut three hearts from Country Floral Lane Designer Paper, and attached them with Dimensionals.

I love paper words, and the Love For You Die Set has great mix and match words. The “thin” words were cut from Sweet Sorbet Cardstock, backed with “bubbles” of Thick Basic White Cardstock. The “bubbles” are in one die, but cut out separately.
After attaching the words with Dimensionals, I stamped tiny hearts in Petal Pink. The tiny heart is one of twenty stamps in the Love For You Stamp Set. You can click on the picture in my Product List below to see everything in the Love For You Bundle.

When you want to send sunshine to someone to brighten their day, Stampin’ Up! has perfect products for making that happen. The Rays of Light Stamp Set is a large background stamp that covers the entire card front. I used the “ink to stamp” technique to achieve the color you see.

Sending Sunshine
First, I placed Basic White Cardstock on my Stamparatus, held in place by a magnet. Second, the stamp is adhered to the lid of the Stamparatus, which I colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red and Mango Melody, around the center. Third, I lowered the lid to the white paper, inking and stamping several times. Fourth, I cleaned the stamp, and added Daffodil Delight with the ink pad, and stamped again, all over. Fifth, I cut the stamped piece, 5 1/4″ X 4″.
After stamping, I taped Real Red Ribbon to the back, and glued my stamped piece to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Sunshine to brighten your day” is one of the sentiments in the Sending Smiles Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with a Sending Die. I placed the sentiment on Mini Dimensionals, and attached it on top of the ribbon.

“Sending” was created with two, Sending Dies. I used Real Red Cardstock for the word, and Basic White Cardstock for the bubble behind it. Using the bubble provided room for the word to be lifted on Dimensionals.
This card is taking me back to my childhood, when I painted yellow suns with red, smiling faces, and the color combo still makes me smile.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Today’s card was created with the Sale-a-bration Host Stamp Set, Scenic Garden. This set has beautiful, detailed images, that I thought would be fun to color with the heat embossing technique. I began by stamping the image with the gate in VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. To color, I used seven colors of Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake, Pale Papaya, Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, and Petal Pink.

Heaven’s Gate
After carefully filling in the tiny embossed spaces with color, I used a Blending Brush and Pool Party Ink to smooth over the image. To keep a “dreamy” feel, I used the third largest Layering Diorama Die for cutting.

While coloring, I decided this would make a perfect sympathy card, and used the Raindrops Embossing Folder on the Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I glued the image to the card base, and found “with sympathy” in The Ginkgo Branch Stamp Set. Then, I used an Eden Die to cut the label from Thick Basic White Cardstock, stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink, and attached it with Dimensionals. I usually stamp the sentiment before die cutting, but this die is solid, rather than open.
The final touch was adding some Sea Glass to the foreground. The Sea Glass happens to be my Host Code Gift this month, and you can see the details below.
