I’m winding down on making Christmas cards, but I wanted to play along with this week’s Paper Players’ challenge. I also wanted to try using Foam Adhesive Sheets with the new Alphabet Dies in the January-April 2023 Catalog. I’m happy to report, they worked perfectly!
I began by cutting Evening Evergreen Cardstock, 1 3/4″ X 1 1/4″, and the same size Foam Adhesive Sheet, to accommodate the two letters, “H” and “O”. After sticking the cardstock to one side of the Foam Adhesive Sheet, I placed the dies on top of the cardstock, and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I ran it through a second time, upside down, to make sure it was a clean cut.
Next, I carefully removed the letters, keeping the backing intact, until it was time to stick them to the card front. The Foam Adhesive Sheets give the letters dimension, and they stick without adding glue!
“Ho Ho Ho”
Now, all I needed was someone to say, “HO HO HO.” I thought the Gnomes Dies would make a cute Santa, so I cut his beard and nose from Basic White Cardstock, and his hat from Regals 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in Real Red. Then, I colored his nose with an Ivory Stampin’ Blend, glued his hat and nose to his beard, and attached him with Dimensionals.
The background is Basic White Cardstock, embossed with the Whimsical Woodland Embossing Folder. This layer is glued to a Real Red card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The Whimsical Woodland Embossing Folder is a “last chance” item, on sale for $4.00. You can see all of the “last chance” items below.
The Gnomes Dies are carrying over, and are available now. The Alphabet Dies will be available January 5, 2023, along with all of the new products in the January-April 2023 catalog.

For this weeks Global Design Project, we are casing Kayla McCreadie’s beautiful floral design on a white, dry embossed background, and heat embossed sentiment.
I chose the Ringed With Nature Bundle to create a Christmas card. This is a great, “all-season” bundle that is carrying over, so I suggest ordering it now while it’s available with a 10% discount.
Beginning with the background, I used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I gave it texture with the Tree Rings Embossing Folder, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Poinsettias and Tree Rings
Next, I stamped the poinsettia, from the Ringed With Nature Stamp Set, in three colors of red ink: Real Red, Sweet Sorbet, and Cherry Cobbler. After fussy cutting the poinsettias, I placed them on Dimensionals.
The leaves and berries were cut with Tree Rings Dies from Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper.
Prior to gluing the leaves and berries, I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark on Evening Evergreen Cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. “Merry Christmas” is from the Ringed With Nature Stamp Set, cut with two Deckled Rectangles Dies to make it the right size, and attached with Dimensionals.
As a final touch, each poinsettia received three, tiny, gold, For Everything Fancy Sequins.

I had fun coloring the apples, leaves, and branch with Stampin’ Blends in three colors: Real Red, Granny Apple Green, and Soft Suede. Prior to coloring, I stamped the image in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used its Apple Blossoms Die for cutting.
Promoting Apple Blossoms Dies
The background was created with Basic White Cardstock, 3″ X 5 1/4″, given a textured pattern with the Stitched Greenery Die, and a detailed edge with an Apple Blossoms Die. This was backed with Brights 6″X 6″ Designer Paper in Granny Apple Green, showing a 5/16″ strip.
The card base is Shaded Spruce, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
The sentiment, “The greatest gift is a good friend,” is from the Apple Harvest Stamp Set. I stamped it in Shaded Spruce Ink, used another Apple Blossoms Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. I’m always excited to play with new products, and Decorative Borders was one of the January-April 2023 stamp sets given to those who attended OnStage. It will be available to order January 5th, so you can add it to your want list.
Circular Decorative Borders
I began today’s sneak peek by using the largest Layering Circles Die to cut a circle from Basic White cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, making a template. Then, I taped Basic White Cardstock of equal size beneath it, and used a Blending Brush with Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz Ink for coloring.
After removing the tape, I stamped two Decorative Borders stamps in VersaMark, surrounding the circle. Next, I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. It was immediately dry, and I used Stampin’ Blends for coloring in five colors: Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, and Granny Apple Green.
Coloring a heat embossed image is really fun. If you haven’t tried it, you should!
“Thank you” is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set, stamped in Pear Pizzazz Ink, cut with a Sentiment Silhouettes Die, and attached with Dimensionals.
