Ranunculus for #worldcardmakingday

It’s October 1st, World Card Making Day, and Fall is in the air!  See more on World Card Making Day below.

For today’s card, I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Crumb Cake Cardstock. Prior to gluing the layer, I embossed it with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, and used the second largest Deckled Rectangles Die for cutting.

Ranunculus Blessings

Next, using Hues Of Happiness Designer Paper and Ranunculus Dies, the flower was cut from a yellow section, and the leaf was cut from a green section. To represent the tissue-like quality of the flower, I added a sprig cut from Vellum Cardstock.  After twirling the detailed cut of the flower to match the solid cut, I glued them together, and placed the flower on Dimensionals.

I love this sentiment from the Hope & Peace Stamp Set, “God’s blessings to you.” You can see the entire set in my Product List below. I usually stamp the sentiment first, but this Eden Die is solid, so I cut first, and stamped second, using Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock.

After attaching the leaf and sprig with glue, and the sentiment with Dimensionals, I added three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

Although Ranunculuses are a springtime flower, this is a card I will send for Thanksgiving.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Soft Seedlings Single Layer Card

For the last day of September, I created a single layer card. With the exception of using Blending Brushes, it’s #simplestamping, just stamps, ink, and paper.  It was totally inspired by the Fusion challenge; the photo, colors, and sketch. I was surprised how the paint colors match Stampin’ Up’s colors perfectly!

I used Blending Brushes on Basic White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″) with five colors of ink, in this order: Pool Party, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze.

By Su Mohr for Fusion; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Soft Seedlings Stamp Set, Nature's Harvest Stamp Set, Blending Brushes; #nature'sharvest #softseedlings #leaves #leavesoncards #fallcards #sympathycards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #stamping #stampinup #cardchallenges #blendingbrushes #simplestamping

Blended Beauty

The Soft Seedlings Stamp Set has beautiful images, and I stamped the large leaf in Cajun Craze Ink.

The sentiment, “Sending healing thoughts, may nature’s beauty bring peace to your soul,” is from the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, stamped in Crumb Cake Ink, which matches the Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4.” I stamped the sentiment to provide the line in the sketch, which I wouldn’t have thought to do without the challenge.

Regal Reindeer Wintry Scene

The Regal Reindeer Bundle is a favorite from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, and this precious, little, girl, warms my heart. I kept the coloring simple by using just four colors of Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Bronze, and Real Red.

After coloring the reindeer and child, I used their Reindeer Dies for cutting, and placed them on Dimensionals. As I was positioning them in the garland, I added a bit of glue to their feet.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Regal Reindeer Bundle; Wintry Embossing Folders, Eden Dies; #regalreindeer #reindeer #edendies #christmascards #holiday2022 #garland #wreaths #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #stamping #stampinup

Favorite Wintry Scene

Once again, I’m using the Eden Die to make a pretty border. This time I cut the garland from Basic White Cardstock, and glued it to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to gluing the garland, I embossed the card base with a Wintry Embossing Folder. Two folders come in the pack, and are the slimmer size to fit the Mini Embossing Machine. For today’s card, I positioned the folder across the middle of the card base. You can see the two folders in my Product List below.

All I needed to complete my card was the sentiment. “Merry Christmas” is from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink, cut with a Deckled Rectangles Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

Apple Harvest Get Well Card

I can’t stress enough that you need to order the Apple Harvest Bundle today! This Friday, September 30th, is the last day of the Perfect Partners promotion, and the last day the Apple Blossoms Dies will be available. You can click on the images below to see the details, and go to my store for ordering.

To begin today’s card, I stamped the apples and blossoms in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and colored with Stampin’ Blends: Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, Real Red, Soft Suede, Old Olive, and the Color Lifter.  I used the Color Lifter on the cut apple, and to highlight the round, red, apple.

By Su Mohr for PP; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Apple Harvest Bundle, Apple Harvest Stamp Set, Apple Blossoms Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Stampin' Blends; #appleharvest #appleblossoms #apples #applesoncards #getwellcards #perfectpartners #stitchedrectangles #stampinblends #hnadmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #stamping #stampinup

Apple Blossoms

To add some interest to the design, I used two Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut a holder for the three blossoms. After cutting from Thick Basic White Cardstock, I glued the tips of the blossoms to the holder, and attached it with Dimensionals.

The background began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The first layer was cut the largest Stitched Rectangles Die from Neutrals 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in a Mossy Meadow plaid. The second layer is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the third largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

Prior to gluing the layers to the card base, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink. “Hope you are feeling better” is one of the three sentiments in the Apple Harvest Stamp Set.

The last step was attaching the apples to the card front with Dimensionals. Notice the “inside” cuts that are impossible to cut by hand.

I was inspired by The Paper Players.

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge, which is always a great source of inspiration. See what our designers created, then add your design to our gallery!

For today’s card, I began by stamping the birthday pig in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and using his Playful Piggy Die for cutting. The image was easy to color with Stampin’ Blends in four colors: Ivory, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Parakeet Party. After coloring, I attached the pig with Dimensionals.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink, used its Playful Piggy Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. Then, mimicking the sketch, I glued five, For Everything Fancy Sequins, in place.

The crooked newsprint in the background is actually Layering Vellum Designs, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. It is secured to the Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) by adding glue beneath the pig, the sentiment, and the sequins. I used this trick to keep the glue from showing.

Boughs Of Holly with an Eden Die-Cut Wreath

The Eden Die Set has a wonderful, leafy border, that I’m loving for Christmas cards this year. The large, oval, wreath was cut from Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, and glued to a layer of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Eden Dies, Boughs Of Holly DSP, Merry Melody Embossing Folder, Potted Succulents Dies, Decorated With Happiness Stamp Set; #edendies #boughsofholly #decoratedwithhappiness #merrymelody #handcrafted #handmadecards #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup #sumohr #christmascards #holiday2022

Decorated with Holly

Prior to gluing the wreath, I embossed the layer with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. The music is wonderful for Christmas cards, especially since I discovered it is “Joy To The World.”To add red to my traditional card, I used a Real Red card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4”.

To add red to my traditional Christmas card, I used a Real Red card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

I’ve been cutting poinsettias from the Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, but today I cut holly berries and two leaves. After cutting, I added a bit of glue to hold them together, and attached the three pieces with Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Decorated With Happiness Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink on Basic White Cardstock.  After stamping “Wishing you a season decorated with happiness and wonder,” I used a Potted Succulents Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
