Happy Forest Friends Baby Card

One of the first things that caught my eye in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog was the Happy Forest Friends Suite Collection. Isn’t this bear adorable? And, you won’t believe how easy it was to make this card! I simply used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut the entire card front from the Happy Forest Friends Designer Paper.

You can see all of the paper in my Product List below; the paper is filled with animals, plants, and trees, a fussy cutters delight.

“Hello, baby”

The Happier Than Happy Stamp Set has wonderful images, with a fox and owl who are competing with the bear for cuteness.

It’s all about the designer paper for this card, but I did use the sentiment, “hello baby,” from the Happier Than Happy Stamp Set, and a Happy Forest Die for cutting. I stamped it in Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and tied Linen Thread though the hole that cuts with the label.

In case you’re thinking Happy Forest Friends is just for kids, I believe it’s for the “young at heart.” If you want to send a card that exudes happiness, this set does the trick!

Autumn Grove Scene

The Grove Dies are perfect for creating  scenes showing the changing seasons. Can you tell this is Autumn? First, I decided on a Very Vanilla card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Second, I used the large, Grove Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, 5″ X 4 1/4″, and the long, narrow die to trim the tree tops.

Autumn Scene

Third, using a Blending Brush, I colored the leaves with Mango Melody and Cajun Craze Inks, and the tree trunks with Soft Suede Ink. After coloring, I attached the grove to the card base with a huge number of tiny Dimensionals. I don’t recommend this, if you’re planning to make more than one. LOL

Next, I used the deer dies to cut Basic White Cardstock, and colored Mama and Baby with a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede Ink, and glued them in place.

The last step was adding the sentiment from the Hope & Peace Stamp Set. I stamped “with love &hope” in Soft Suede Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, and used my Paper Snips to fussy cut. The sentiment was glued to the trees, already raised by Dimensionals, and my card was complete.

I was inspired by The Paper Players.

Artistically Inked Alternative for #worldcardmakingday

Stampin’ Up’s World Card Making Event was Saturday, October 1, and it was fantastic! At the end of the event, a surprise announcement was made: FREE SHIPPING on Tuesday, October 4th! That’s today, and lasts only 24 hours, so get those orders in to take advantage of it!

The first card in the event was created with the Cottage Rose Bundle, demonstrated by CEO Sara and her mom, Shelli. I’m regretting not having the bundle to make this exact card, but I used some of the same supplies to create a similar card using the Artistically Inked Stamp Set and Artistic Dies.

I began by stamping a flower, from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, in two colors of ink on Basic White Cardstock. I used So Saffron for one flower, and Flirty Flamingo in full strength, and “stamped off,” for the other two flowers.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Artistically Inked Stamp Set, Artistic Dies; #artisticallyinked #artisticdies #wcmd #worldcardmakingday #flowersoncards #cardswithoutsentiments #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup

Artistically Inked

After stamping the flowers, I stamped three pairs of leaves in Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4,” and one pair that I cut using its Artistic Die. I also cut the flowers, using their Artistic Die, and placed them on Dimensionals.

Prior to attaching the flowers, I used the large Artistic Die to cut Crumb Cake Cardstock, and glued it to the layer, partially covering the stamped leaves.

For a touch of sparkle, I added three Iridescent Rhinestones.

Did you notice there isn’t a sentiment? It’s because of the TGIF challenge, “what would you do…..without a sentiment?” Without a sentiment, it makes a nice, multi-purpose card.

Cottage Wreaths for Global Design Project 363

Stampin’ Up’s World Card Making Event was Saturday, and it was fantastic! At the end of the event, a surprise announcement was made: FREE SHIPPING coming soon!!! Get your wish lists ready, so you can take advantage of free shipping tomorrow, Tuesday, October 4th!

This week’s Global Design Project is a “spooky” challenge. October 31st is Halloween in the United States, so it’s time to get out those “spooky” supplies. See what our designers created, then add your design to our gallery.

I began with the scary spider from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set, stamping it in Memento Black Ink, and using its Cottage Wreaths Die for cutting. The spiders are raised on Mini Dimensionals.

There is a very versatile wreath in the Cottage Wreaths Bundle, which I added to my Halloween card. I cut rounds of leaves from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Cardstock, and a bow from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, and glued them together.

To add to the “spookiness,” I stamped “BOO!” from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a Ranunculus Die for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals.

Blessings Of Home #worldcardmakingday

Stampin’ Up’s World Card Making Event was yesterday, and it was fantastic! At the end of the event, a surprise announcement was made: FREE SHIPPING coming soon!!! Get your wish lists ready, so you can take advantage of free shipping on Tuesday, October 4th!

The first card in the event was created with the Cottage Rose Bundle, demonstrated by CEO Sara and her mom, Shelli. I’m regretting not having the bundle to make this exact card, but I used the supplies to create a similar card using the Blessings Of Home Bundle.

I began by stamping the smaller portion of the floral bouquet in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used four Stampin’ Blends for coloring: Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Mint Macaron, and Daffodil Delight (I didn’t have So Saffron).

By So Mohr for #worldcardmakingday; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Blessings Of Home Stamp Set, Flowers Of Home Dies; #blessingsofhome #flowersofhome #birthdaycards #handmadecards #handcrafted $diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stamping #stampinup #stampinblends

After coloring, I used a Flowers Of Home Die for cutting the flowers, along with a die to cut two sprigs from Crumb Cake Cardstock.

The background was created with a large, Blessings Of Home stamp, stamped in Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/2″. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Although, Sara and Shelli attached the layer with Dimensionals.

“Have a perfect birthday” is from the Blessings Of Home Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on So Saffron Cardstock, 3 1/2″ X 1/4″. I attached the sentiment and flower with Dimensionals, and glued the sprigs in place.

For the final touch, I added five Iridescent Pearls, colored with my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend, as Sara and Shelli showed us.

Ranunculus for #worldcardmakingday

It’s October 1st, World Card Making Day, and Fall is in the air!  See more on World Card Making Day below.

For today’s card, I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Crumb Cake Cardstock. Prior to gluing the layer, I embossed it with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, and used the second largest Deckled Rectangles Die for cutting.

By Su Mohr for FMS and #worldcardmakingday; Click arom,asandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Ranunculus Dies, Deckled Rectangles Dies, Hues Of happiness DSP, Timeworn Type EF, Eden Dies, Hope & Peace Stamp Set; #ranunculus #Thanksgivingcards #worldcardmakingday #edendies #hopeandpeace #god'sblessings #huesofhappiness #deckledrectangles #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #flowersoncards #sumohr #stamping #stampinup

Ranunculus Blessings

Next, using Hues Of Happiness Designer Paper and Ranunculus Dies, the flower was cut from a yellow section, and the leaf was cut from a green section. To represent the tissue-like quality of the flower, I added a sprig cut from Vellum Cardstock.  After twirling the detailed cut of the flower to match the solid cut, I glued them together, and placed the flower on Dimensionals.

I love this sentiment from the Hope & Peace Stamp Set, “God’s blessings to you.” You can see the entire set in my Product List below. I usually stamp the sentiment first, but this Eden Die is solid, so I cut first, and stamped second, using Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock.

After attaching the leaf and sprig with glue, and the sentiment with Dimensionals, I added three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

Although Ranunculuses are a springtime flower, this is a card I will send for Thanksgiving.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.
