Ranunculas Romance WOW!!!

This is my first “play” with the Ranunculus Romance Bundle. Today’s card uses the die set, and Saturday’s card will use the stamp set, shown in my Product List below. I recommend the bundle for a 10% savings! You are going to love it!

I began today’s thank you card by cutting the flower from the FREE Sale-a-bration, Simply Marbleous Designer Paper, in Blushing Bride. Two Ranunculus Dies were used to cut the flower out completely. It’s easiest, if you match the dies, and cut them together, as you see in my photo.

Ranunculus Romance #1

Next, if you like the flower, how about that leaf! Isn’t it fabulous! Since I was on a roll with designer paper, I used some green from Flowering Fields to cut the two leaves. The background is another pattern of Flowering Fields DSP, 4″ X 4″, which I glued to a Pear Pizzazz card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “thanks,” was made with Amazing Thanks Dies, and the same Flowering Fields DSP as the background. The blue die-cut has enough space to attach the word with Mini Dimensionals.

After applying the smallest Iridescent Rhinestone to the center of the flower, today’s card was complete.

Saturday’s card has my supplies cut and ready, but it isn’t complete yet. It’s waiting in the wings for a “mystery stamping” event tomorrow evening. If you haven’t done “mystery stamping,” it’s really fun, and you can come back Saturday the 22nd to see my card, and get the details.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Grassy Grove Beauty of the Earth

If you’re wanting to make masculine cards, the new Grassy Grove Bundle could be your answer. Today’s card is a “quick & easy,” single layer card. After using the large Grove Die to cut from Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper ( 5 1/4″ X 4 1/4″), my card was practically finished.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Grove Dies, Double Oval Punch, Queen Anne's Lace Stamp Set, Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper; #masculinecards #grovedies #grassygrove #queenanne'slace #beautyoftheearth #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #birthdaycards #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stamping #stampinup #cardtechniques #quickandeasy #singlelayercards #deer #deeroncards #treesoncards

Grassy Grove Deer

Next, I used a long, narrow, Grove Die to give the trees shape along the top.

After gluing the grove of trees to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I cut the two deer from the backside of the Beauty of the Earth DSP. I like the way the woodgrain gives them definition. Then, I doubled them with cardstock for thickness, and glued them in place. Aren’t they cute?

You can see all of the Beauty of the Earth patterns in my Product List below.

The sentiment, “celebrating all the wonderful things about you,” is from the Queen Anne’s Lace Stamp Set, stamped in Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock. After cutting with the Double Oval Punch, I brushed the edge with Mossy Meadow Ink on a Sponge Dauber, and attached the sentiment with Dimensionals.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

Many Mini Hearts for Valentine’s Day

All of the pastel shades in the Sweet Talk Designer Paper are showing on today’s Valentine. Isn’t the combination yummy? The mini hearts were cut with four dies that come in the Sweethearts Die Set. I was able to cut the mini hearts (two each of the six colors) from a pattern of larger hearts, and attach them with half snips of Mini Dimensionals. Warning: it’s a bit tedious, so don’t attempt if you don’t like “tiny.”

Many Mini Hearts

The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die, and embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder. The embossing folder is my gift to you this month; read the details below.

After embossing, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The stacked rectangles were cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies, from three patterns of Sweet Talk Designer Paper, and glued to the edge of the background. I made the top rectangle narrower by using the die that’s a size larger for a horizontal cut.

The sentiment, “Happy Valentine’s Day,” is from the Sweet Conversations Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Sweet Talk Designer Paper, used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Amazing You for Global Design Project 326

When seeing this week’s Global Design Project sketch, the first thing that came to mind was the word “amazing” across a circle. And, why not use my favorite designer paper, New Horizons!

By Su Mohr for GDP326; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: New Horizons Designer Paper, Amazing Thanks Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Iridescent Rhinestones; #newhorizons #amazingthanksdies #thankyoucards #gdp326 #paperwords #cardchallenges #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #amazingyou #watercoloring #stamping #stampinup

Amazing You

I cut a pattern of New Horizons Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used a layering Circles Die to cut a 2 3/8″ circle from a second piece of the same pattern of paper. The scalloped circle that’s a spec larger was used to cut Basic Black Cardstock to give the circle a contrasting border.

After gluing the two circles together, I attached them to the card front with Dimensionals.

Next, I used Amazing Thanks Dies to cut “amazing” and “you” from Basic Black Cardstock. Following this, I used their “backing” dies to cut from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I glued “amazing” to the circle, and attached “you” with Dimensionals. The “backing” dies have enough space for Mini Dimensionals, which is great!

I love the Iridescent Rhinestones, and the three sizes found a spot on my card.

Here is the sketch that was my inspiration. I hope you are inspired also, and will post your card in our gallery.

New Horizons Diorama

When you begin a card with the gorgeous, New Horizons Designer Paper, it’s hard to go wrong. I hadn’t purchased the Diorama Dies, but when I saw the New Horizons Designer Paper I envisioned this design, and HAD to have them.

I used the largest Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, and the next largest to cut the New Horizons Designer Paper. After gluing them together, I attached the diorama with Dimensionals to a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: New Horizons Designer Paper, Layering Diorama Dies, Amazing Thanks Dies; #newhorizons #layeringdioramadies #brushedbrassbutterflies #amazingthanks #thankyoucards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #stamping #stampinup #aromasnadart.com/shop #cleanandsimple #CAS

Diorama Thanks

Next, I used the new, Amazing Thanks Dies to cut the word “thanks.” The thinner word was cut from Basic White Cardstock, and the “bubble” was cut from New Horizons DSP, “left-over” from the Diorama cut. I glued them together, and attached the word with Mini Dimensionals. This was easy, because the “bubble” has space for the Mini Dimensionals. I did cut two tiny pieces to prop the “s.”

For a final touch, I added a new Brushed Brass Butterfly, which is easier to see in person. Can you find it among the flowers? Look at the pack in my Product List; you get 80 butterflies!

Flowing Flowers #simplestamping

All I did was choose three colors of ink; the ones from this week’s Paper Player’s challenge: Just Jade, Calypso Coral, and Pale Papaya. Then, I randomly stamped two of the floral images in Calypso Coral on Basic White Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. Next, I stamped a third floral image in Pale Papaya Ink, and the sentiment, Thank You,” in Just Jade Ink.

After cutting my art piece to 4″ X 5 1/4″, I glued it to a Just Jade card base 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I stamped some dots from the Friendly Hello Stamp Set, in Just Jade Ink. And, it wasn’t necessary, but very easy, to add some Self-Adhesive Artistry Bloom Sequins.
