Welcome to Global Design Project #321, a color challenge of Garden Green, Mint Macaron, and Cherry Cobbler, with a surprise.
What makes today’s card a surprise? It’s the embossed gingham background! Aren’t you excited? I sure was, and it’s in the new 2022 January-June Mini Catalog, available January 4. It’s featured as part of the Sweet Talk Suite, but gingham will certainly go with anything. It’s #157627 | $7.50, so write that down.

Gingham Thanks
Prior to embossing the background, I had fun turning Basic White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 4 “) into a pretty shade of green with Mint Macaron Ink and a Blending Brush. I used a circular motion, starting at the side (off the cardstock on scratch paper) and working toward the middle. Then, I glued this to a Garden Green card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4”.
The middle of the card is Painted Christmas Designer Paper (5 1/4″ X 2 1/2″) cut on the top and bottom with the long, Eden Die. I glued it in the center, leaving the edges free to lift.

Next, I cut Thick Basic White Cardstock, with another Eden Die, and stamped the sentiment in Garden Green Ink. “Thanks” is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, and was a perfect fit. I usually stamp the sentiment first, and then use the die for cutting, but it worked better in reverse with this solid die.

For a touch of red, I added a few Matte Decorative Dots in Cherry Cobbler. Don’t they look like berries?

Our designers are excited to show you their creations, then it’s your turn to add a card to our gallery.

It’s always nice to have a quick & easy gift tag design, and I love the Giving Gifts Dies, which I used today. This set is a “Last Chance” product, only while supplies last; order now! I also used the Tailor Made Tags Dies, which have temporarily sold out, but are expected back in stock the week of January 24.

Easy Gift Tags
For this project, I needed to make 10 tags. By cutting Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 11″, in half at 4 1/4″, you can make 10 large tags from one sheet.

As you can see in the photo above, the Santa die fits inside the Tailor Made Tags Die. This simplifies the process, because you can run them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine at the same time.

Next, I used the same tag die to cut from Pool Party, Just Jade, and Misty Moonlight Cardstock. Then, using pin dots of Liquid Glue, I glued the two together. I also glued the hole reinforcer, because it’s so cute. To tie the tag to a gift, I used Simply Elegant Trim in silver.
Prior to gluing everything, I stamped “to” and “from” (Snowman Season Stamp Set) on the back, in Shaded Spruce Ink.

Would you like to see a completed gift? I found some coordinating gift wrap, taped Metallic Mesh Ribbon around the middle, and tied on the tag. My team members will be receiving these gifts. Shhhh, don’t tell.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Are you ready for another Sale-a-bration? Beginning January 4, 2022, you’ll be able to earn FREE product! Today’s card is a sneak peek of gorgeous, Friendly Hello Designer Paper. This paper comes with the Friendly Hello Stamp Set, which is a FREE choice for a $100 order.

Friendly Hello
I began with the focal point, using my Paper Snips to cut the bird from one of the patterns of paper. Then, I cut three more patterns of paper to fit a challenge sketch. The stripe is 1 7/8″ X 5 1/16″, and the two smaller rectangles are 1 7/8″ X 2 1/2″, glued to Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. This layer was glued to a Fresh Freesia card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I used the fourth largest, plain, Layering Circles Die to cut a fifth pattern, and the smallest, plain, circle to cut Basic White Cardstock. These circles were backed with scalloped circles, cut from Shaded Spruce Cardstock.

The bird was attached with Dimensionals, along with the circles. Prior to attaching the smaller circle, I stamped the sentiment in Shaded Spruce Ink. “Thank you” is from the Welcoming Window Stamp Set, a perfect fit. Don’t you love this paper?

The sketch is from the Paper Players.

For today’s card, I brought back a few of my favorite products that have retired. Normally, I resist using retired products, because I want you to be able to order what you see. But, Stampin’ Up! announced a “Clearance Refresh” yesterday, which means additional products have been discounted, including some on today’s card. They are the first five products listed below, and clicking on the pictures should show you the reduced price. If this doesn’t work, click on my “shop” button, and go to “clearance” under “Sales & Specials.” This will show you the entire list. Also, beware, because hot items will sell quickly.
I began with the Butterfly Duet Punch, punching three butterflies from Brights 6X6 Designer Paper in three colors: Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Flirty Flamingo.

Clearance Refresh
The butterflies needed a background, so I stamped trees from the Welcoming Woods Stamp Set, in Soft Suede Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a plain Layering Circles Die for cutting. I layered this circle of trees on Love You Always Foil in Sahara Sand, cut with a slightly larger, scalloped circle. Welcoming Woods is a Last Chance Product that is a favorite of mine, but is not discounted.

Beneath the circle is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with an all-time favorite, the Subtle Embossing Folder. Yes, it’s subtle, not over-powering, and provides just the right amount of texture for many cards. After embossing, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“You’re amazing” is from the current stamp set, Ornate Thanks, stamped in Early Espresso Ink, cut with a Beautiful Trees Die, and glued to the circle.
After attaching the circle with Dimensionals, and gluing the butterflies, I gave each butterfly a Whale of a Time Sequin.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketeches.

Brights 6″ X 6″ (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper

It’s the first of December, and time to look through your July-December 2021 Catalog to see if you need to order any of these fabulous supplies before they retire. A few items will carry-over, but the majority are “last chance” products at regular price. Also, there are 22 products that are discounted from 10%-50% pictured below.
And, I just found out, there is a “clearance refresh!” That means there are new items at reduced prices, so be sure to check it out under “sales & specials!”

I’m using two of my favorite “last chance” products for today’s card; Seasonal Swirls Dies (40% off) and the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set. I also used a tiny bit of Red Foil (20% off).
I began by using a Seasonal Swirls Die to cut two wreaths; one from Thick Basic White Cardstock, and one from Gold Foil. Then, I glued them together, offset, so the gold would show beneath the white.

White & Gold
I wanted the background to be white, but added interest on the side with a gold & white striped designer paper from Expressions In Ink. I glued the striped paper to Basic White Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″, then used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut it down to size. This way, the striped paper has stitching also.

After gluing the wreath in place, I added a gold bow of Simply Elegant Trim to the top, with a Glue Dot.

“To you and yours,” is from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set, cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die, and attached with Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock, sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool.
For a final touch, berries were added, cut from Red Foil, using another Seasonal Swirls Die.
