Once again I’m using the gorgeous, Friendly Hello Designer Paper, offered during 2020 Sale-a-bration. It is paired with the Friendly Hello Stamp Set, FREE with a qualifying $100 order, available January 4th.
For today’s card, I used the Tailor Made Tags Dies to cut two tags, layered them for thickness, and added Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the top.
Before adding Dimensionals to the back of the tags, I stamped the sentiment.
“Hello” and “friend” are from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink.

Hello Friend Tags
The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. Prior to cutting, I glued the striped paper (3″ wide”) to the white paper, the size of the card front.

After gluing and attaching, I couldn’t help but embellish with the new Iridescent Rhinestones.

I was inspired by TGIF.

I just received my pre-order from December first, and the first thing I did was punch the ladybug from Basic Black Cardstock. Talk about fun! Then, I stamped her wings in Real Red Ink on Basic White Cardstock, punched them out, and attached them to her back. How easy! The “neck” portion is glued, while Mini Dimensionals lift her wings a bit.

Next, I stamped her leaf in Garden Green Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used my Paper Snips to fussy cut (cut by hand).
I recommend using a Stamparatus for stamping, if you want dark, completely stamped images. It’s pictured in my Product List below, and you can click on it for more information.
I couldn’t help but notice her leaf was heart-shaped, and my idea sprung forth. I also received, in my pre-order, the Bouquet Of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder, and the ladybug’s leaf fit perfectly under the heart in the the middle.

This led to embossing Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, for the background, and embossing her green leaf to attach with Dimensionals in the middle. I glued this layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. After the leaf was attached, the ladybug flew to the leaf and began munching away.

Ladybug Valentine
The “punny” sentiment, “you can bug me anytime,” is in the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set, and perfect for a humorous Valentine. It was stamped in Memento Black Ink, cut with a Bouquet Of Love Die, and glued beneath the leaf.

Wanting to say “Valentine” in a large way, I used a Word Wishes Die, “Valentine’s,” cut the word from Garden Green Cardstock, and snipped off the “s.” I layered it for thickness, and dotted the “i” with a Matte Decorative Dot.

It’s Monday, and there’s a fun sketch challenge for you at Global Design Project. Check out what our designers did with the sketch, then play along.

I am “hooked” on coloring with Soft Pastels; my new favorite coloring tool. After watching Sara Douglass, our Stampin’ Up! CEO, on Facebook Live, I picked up a new technique.

Soft Pastels and VersaMark
I began by stamping the image, from the Eden’s Garden Stamp Set, in VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I used Sponge Daubers to pick up the powder from the Soft Pastels to blot on the VersaMark. I first tried rubbing the Sponge Dauber on the Soft Pastel, but it didn’t pick up enough color. Watching Sara, I saw how she needed to rub the Pastel on scratch paper to get sufficient powder for coloring.
I used Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana, in that order. This technique works well with “Distinktive” stamps. I’ll be looking for more stamp sets conducive to this technique.

The sketch gave me the idea to trim the right side of my white layer with the long Eden Die. Isn’t it pretty?

A smaller Eden Die was used to cut Thick Basic White Cardstock for the sentiment. This wonderful sentiment is from the Eden’s Garden Stamp Set; “My heart is tied to yours…tug if you need anything,” stamped in Memento Black Ink. Don’t you love it?

I snipped off the right side of the sentiment label to make it flush with the border, and attached it with Dimensionals. A few Artistry Bloom Sequins were added as a final touch.

Welcome to this month’s Stamping Sunday Blog Hop, with a card sketch for inspiration. Fun, fun, fun! You’ll find the name list below, where you can hop from blog to blog to see how the sketch was used.

As soon as I completed my last Christmas card, I started in on Valentines. I inherited my love of Valentine’s Day from my mother, and my family made a big deal of exchanging Valentines, romantic as well as humorous. My father was quite a poet, and you could count on a poem, or two, from him. The cards were store bought in those days, and how I would love to shower them with handmade cards today. This is my confession for the reason you’ll be seeing lots of hearts on cards.
The two cards I’m sharing today were made with the new, Sweet Conversations Bundle, and coordinating Sweet Talk Designer Paper, available January 4, 2022. Don’t you love the colors? Both cards began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

First 2022 Valentines
For the first card, on the right, I used a layer of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and embossed it with the Absolutely Argyle Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is on the Clearance Rack for $6.00, and you can click on its picture in my Product List below.
Prior to embossing, I stamped “Happy Valentine’s Day” in Memento Black Ink. The sentiment is from the Sweet Conversations Stamp Set.
Next, I cut two tags from Sweet Talk Designer Paper, using a Sweet Hearts Die. The row of hearts is also in the die set, used to cut a piece of designer paper that you see I’m also using for photography. The “cut-out” tiny, pink, hearts were attached with Mini Dimensionals.

The “text me” and “ur cute” hearts were cut with another die from the set, directly from the designer paper. We love when Stampin’ Up! lets us do this, don’t we?
Prior to attaching the hearts and tags, I threaded the holes with Wrinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. To make the ribbon daintier, I, first, cut the ribbon in half.

For my second card, I used the largest Scalloped Contours Die to cut another pattern of Sweet Talk Designer Paper. And, I had to show you the adorable envelope, cut with a Sweet Hearts Die from Basic White Cardstock. It has score lines for easy folding, is held together with a Glue Dot, and has a cute “hug me” heart tucked inside.
Behind the envelope is a circle of pretty hearts, cut with a Layering Circles Die, and given a Highland Heather scalloped border.

The flagged rectangle, also in the die set, was cut from Basic White Cardstock, decorated with the row of hearts in Real Red Cardstock, filled with Highland Heather Cardstock hearts. The “cut-out” red hearts didn’t go to waste, attached with Mini Dimensionals, and completing the sketch.

Now, continue hopping for more creative ways to use this month’s sketch.

Valentine’s Day, here we come! I couldn’t wait to give you a sneak peek of the Sweet Conversations Bundle in the new, 2022 January-June Mini Catalog, on pages 8-10. If you have ordered $50 from me within the last year, I’ll be sending you the catalog and Sale-a-bration brochure, mid to late December. You’re going to love it, and you can begin ordering January 4, 2022!
This is my third Valentine using this set, and you’ll see the first two on Sunday the 12th, which I prepared for a blog hop.
I began with the wonderful striped, Sweet Talk Designer Paper, using an Ornate Layers Die for cutting. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Stripes & Hearts
Next, I stamped “Happy Valentine’s Day” in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a second, Ornate Layers Die for cutting, and glued this to the card front.

Now, for the really fun part! Stampin’ Up! provided three heart dies In the Sweet Hearts Dies set to cut the hearts directly from the Sweet Talk Designer Paper. To add the hearts to the card front, I used a third Ornate Layers Die for cutting Thick Basic White Cardstock, and attached the three larger hearts with glue, and the smaller hearts with Dimensionals. Then, I attached the entire strip with Dimensionals.

For a final touch, I embellished the heart strip with Matte Decorative Dots. Don’t they look like candy? If you want the dots, they are a “Last Chance Product,” pictured in my Product List, so order ASAP.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Today I’m sharing a favorite, newly discovered, coloring tool… Stampin’ Up’s Soft Pastels! And, I was anxious to see how it worked with the new, Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set.

Amazing Butterflies
I began by stamping the butterfly in VersaMark on Basic White Cardstock, 3 7/8″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I used Sponge Daubers to pick up the powder from Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Poppy Parade Soft Pastels to blot on the VersaMark. So easy, it’s hard to go wrong!
Next, I added a strip of color with new, Sale-a-bration, Sunshine Rainbow Designer Paper. It was cut 1/4″ X 5 1/4″, and glued to the back of the white layer, before gluing the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “stay wonderful,” is from the new, Honeybee Home Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink.
For a final touch, I added new, Iridescent Rhinestones. Aren’t they gorgeous? The iridescence makes them go with any color.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on January 12th. Our theme will be “Time to Sale-A-Brate” when our Design Team will showcase items from Sale-A-Bration as the focal point of their project.. Until then, have fun in your craft space.
