I am excited to report that Stampin’ Up! now has Slimline Envelopes (#157981 | $10.00). There are 15 envelopes in a pack; five each of three colors: Soft Succulent, Basic White, and Smoky Slate. The inside has a printed design, a pretty flap, and they measure 3 7/8″ X 8 7/8″.
Today’s card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 7″, folded at 3 /12″, and fits the envelope perfectly. The Basic White layer is 8 1/4″ X 3″.
Driving By Slimline
I only needed to decide what would look cute on a slimline card. The answer: cars from the the new Sale-a-bration set, Driving By (#158099 | FREE with a $50 order). You’ll be able to order this set when the 2022 January-June Catalog goes “live” on January 4th.
First, I stamped the three cars in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I’ve had fairly good luck with my Scan N’ Cut on black & white stamped images, and it did a good job, with the exception of cutting off a balloon. The mistake turned into an improvement, because I like the way the balloon is flying away, don’t you?
After cutting, I colored the images with Stampin’ Blends in six colors: Balmy Blue, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Smoky Slate.
The dotted roadway was cut with an Ornate Layers Die from another Sale-a-bration item, Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper (#158126 | FREE with a $50 order).
The colorful dots, presents, and balloons, called for a “happy birthday” sentiment. I used a Birthday Chick Die to cut the words from Basic Gray Cardstock, and glued the bottom of “birthday” to the top of the VW bus.
After attaching the cars with Dimensionals, my slimline card was complete, and ready to send in its perfect Slimline Envelope.

Sea glass is beautiful, and loved by many. I couldn’t wait to share Stampin’ Up’s Faux Sea Glass, a new embellishment in the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog. You’ll find it on page 33, #158139 | $8.00. Today’s card features it on a seaside Valentine.
I began by embossing Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder. Then, I used the large, Seaside Seashells Die for cutting, and snipped away all but one corner.
Sea Glass and Hearts
Next, I used Sweet Hearts Dies to cut two hearts from Sweet Talk Designer Paper, and two tiny hearts from Basic White Cardstock. Do you see them in the seaweed?
The hearts are also new products in the 2022 Mini Catalog, and there is more information about them in a previous post. Clicking on the card will take you there.
The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, with a layer of Subtles 6″X 6″ Designer Paper in Pool Party, cut with the largest Scalloped Contours Die. The next layer is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the next largest Scalloped Contours Die, and attached with Dimensionals.
Prior to attaching the white layer, I stamped, “love you to the beach and back,” in Memento Black Ink. The sentiment is from the current, Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set.
After gluing the seaweed, I attached the hearts with Dimensionals, and added the adhesive backed Sea Glass. That was the most fun!

This week’s Global Design Project is a “celebration” theme, so it was a perfect time to share my favorite suite in the new 2022 January-June Mini Catalog, New Horizons.
There’s nothing like the fresh start of a new year, with hope on the horizon!
Celebrate 2022
The watercolored, New Horizon Designer Paper, made this card come together quickly. There are 48 sheets, 6″ X 6″, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs, #157768 | $11.50.
I chose a gorgeous scene, cut it to 4″ X 5 1/4″, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base.
Next, I used the fence dies, from the Horizon Die set, to cut Basic White Cardstock. Don’t you love the way this fence adds dimension? The die set has 10 dies, #157778 | $33.00.
I didn’t use the On The Horizon Stamp Set on this card, #157770 | $23.00, but you can order it with the dies in a bundle for a 10% savings, #157779 | $50.25.
After gluing the fence in place, I used Playful Alphabet Dies, the left-over strip of designer paper, and a Foam Adhesive Sheet to create the numbers “2022.”
The sentiment, “Let’s celebrate everything,” is from the Eden’s Garden Stamp Set. It was stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, cut with a Beautiful Trees Die, and glued in place.
This card fills me with joy, thinking of the good things to come! Order January 4th, 2020, and spread the joy for 2022.

I always make gift card holders for Christmas gifts (see below), but today’s gift card holder is for saying “thank you.” My idea began, because the tropical plant in the Island Vibes Stamp Set fits perfectly on a Stampin’ Up! Note Card. Check out the Note Cards in my Product List. You get eight, Thick Basic White Cardstock, and they come with envelopes. What a deal!
Island Vibe Gift Card Holder
The Island Vibes Stamp Set, #158096, is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration items you can earn with a qualifying order of $50. Sale-a-bration begins January 4, 2022, and runs through February 28, 2022, co-ordinating with our 2022 January-June Mini Catalog. You are going to love it!
To color the tropical plant, I used the “ink to stamp” technique. This is done by placing the stamp on the lid of the Stamparatus. Then, you color the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers, and lower the lid to the Stamparatus platform, where the Note Card is held in place with magnets. You can add color as you go, until you get satisfying coverage.
I must give you a warning about the magnets. They are very strong, can snap together, break apart, and scare you to death! But, they do a great job of holding the paper in place, and you’ll learn to keep them separated.
While the Note Card was on the Stamparatus, I stamped “Thanks” in Bermuda Bay Ink, and “friend” in Stazon Black Ink. The sentiment is from the Biggest Wishes Stamp Set, which is in our current, annual catalog.
After stamping, I added a border to the Note Card by scoring it with my Paper Trimmer, 1/4″ on all sides.
Turning the Note Card into a gift card holder was a breeze. I cut Brights 6″X6″ Designer Paper in the color of Bermuda Bay, 4 3/4″ X 2 1/4″, and attached it to the inside with Tear & Tape along the bottom and sides. Prior to attaching, I punched a finger notch at the top.

My Honeybee Hive card began by coloring Basic White Cardstock with a Blending Brush and three colors of yellow ink: So Saffron, Crushed Curry, and Bumblebee. Then, I used the three smallest Layering Circles Dies for cutting. After cutting the circles, I placed them in the new Hive Embossing Folder, and ran them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
The Hive Embossing Folder is #157955 | $9.00, and will be available January 4, 2022.
Honeybee Hive
Next, I created the background, cutting Basic White Cardstock with the largest Ornate Layers Die. After cutting, I gave it texture with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
The bee is from the Honeybee Home Stamp Set, #157943 | $22.00, stamped in Stazon Black Ink, and cut with a Honey Blooms Die, #157951 | $28.00. The stamps and dies can be purchased in a bundle for a 10% savings, #157952 | $45.00, and they will be available January 4, 2022.
After attaching the circles of honeycomb and the bee, I stamped the sentiment in Stazon Ink, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting. “To a sweet friend!” is from the current, Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set, and just what I wanted to say.
For a little extra pizzazz, I tied Playful Pets, black & white trim, around the fold of the card.

My Christmas cards are in the mail, so today’s red, green and gold color combo is for a thank you card. All of the products are current, and in my Product List below.
I began by gluing gold veined, Expressions In Ink Designer Paper, 2″ X 5 1/2″, to Very Vanilla Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. Then, I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut it down to size, and glued this layer to a Thick Very Vanilla card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I used a Harvest Die to cut foliage from Gold Foil, lining up the middle stalk along the edge of the designer paper.
Gold Thanks
“Thanks” was cut with a Word Wishes Die from Gold Foil, snipped from the word “Thanksgiving.” I glued it to a stalk, so it looks like they are growing together.
For a touch of red, I added a butterfly, cut from Merry Merlot Cardstock with a Meadow Die, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.
I was inspired by the Paper Players.
