Happy Halloween, and I hope you have lots of your favorite candy to eat. I’ve been making my way through a huge, Costco, bag of candy!
I think my sugar overload contributed to the brightness of today’s card.
I began by cutting three, cute, tall, skinny, trees from Basic White Cardstock, using a Christmas Trees Die.

Magenta & Trees
The background is where it gets bright, and pink, with gold veining. I’d like to take credit for designing this paper, but it’s Stampin’ Up’s Expressions In Ink Designer Paper. It’s cut 1/8″ smaller than the Magenta Madness Cardstock I used for backing, 4 3/4″ X 3 1/2″. This gives it a 1/16″ border, and I find the easiest way to measure, using my Paper Trimmer.
After gluing the three trees to the patterned paper, I attached the layer to a Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) with Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Magenta Madness Ink, on a plain section of the designer paper, and cut with a Beautiful Trees Die. I attached it with two Mini Dimensionals, straddling the tree trunks.
I’ve used this sentiment and die on several cards, because I love the font, which fits perfectly in this label with the pretty edge. And, this alcohol blended paper is wondrous, isn’t it?

I was inspired by the sketch and alcohol blending technique at TGIF; a “MASH UP.”

It’s always exciting to use new sets, and I couldn’t wait to turn Eden’s Garden into a Christmas card. Eden’s Garden is an “early-release” that will be in the new January-June 2022 Catalog, available in January. But you’ll be able to order this set November 2nd (three days from now!). See more details below.
I began with an Edens’ Die, (the gorgeous, rectangular, wreath) to cut from Painted Christmas Designer Paper. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Eden’s Garden Christmas
Prior to gluing the wreath, I added some detail to the card base. First, I rounded the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch. It seemed to go nicely with the shape of the wreath. Then, I gave the card front texture with the Timber Embossing Folder.

“Christmas” was cut with a Word Wishes Die from Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper, and layered for thickness. It’s glued to Thick Basic White Cardstock, cut with an Eden’s Die, and raised on Dimensionals.
“Merry” is from the Merry Christmas to All Stamp Set (retired) that coordinated with the Word Wishes Dies (current). It was stamped in Real Red Ink, cut with an Ornate Frames Die, and attached with Dimensionals.
The final touch was a bow of Playful Pets Trim. The red & white is perfect for Christmas, don’t you think?

Eden’s Garden will be available November 2nd, two months before the new Spring catalog is available. You’re going to want this “early release!”
There are specialty papers and gems exclusive to the early-release, and available only while supplies last. But, the stamp set and dies, pictured below, will be in the new catalog.

Have you wondered how to make a slimline card? Today’s card is surprisingly easy; just follow along for instructions.
First, cut three frames from Basic White Cardstock, using the Ornate Frames Die in the picture.

Slimline Pinecones
Second, cut pinecones from the Painted Christmas Designer Paper, using the Ornate Frames Die that fits over the “fancy” white frame. Then, attach the pinecones to the frames with Dimensionals.
Third, it’s time to make the slimline card base. From an 8 1/2″ X 11″ piece of Soft Succulent Cardstock, cut 7″ X 7″, and fold at 3 1/2″.

The card front is layered with a pattern of Harvest Meadow Designer Paper, 3 1/4″ X 6 3/4″. Next, glue the three, framed, pinecones to the card front.
I wanted to keep the sentiment subdued, and have it blend in with the script, so I stamped it on the designer paper, and added a layer of cardstock for thickness.
The sentiment, “this wondrous season,” is from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink, cut with a Beautiful Trees Die, and glued in place.
Slimlines can be made in other dimensions, but that’s what I used for today’s design, and I’ll use a standard, legal envelope for mailing.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

What’s cuter than a smiling snowman? A smiling snowman juggling snowballs, named Frosty! If you haven’t noticed this little guy before, he’s in the Snowman Season Stamp Set, a favorite from the Annual Catalog, page 93.
I stamped Frosty in Misty Moonlight Ink, and used my Paper Snips for fussy cutting. He thought he deserved a die for cutting, but said there was a punch for a big guy in the set, the Snowman Builder Punch #150643, page 149.

Frosty
Frosty said I could design the card as I liked, as long as it was blue and white with lots of snow so he wouldn’t melt. I began with an icy, Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued two large, Wonderful Snowflakes embellishments, in the upper corners. The snowflakes really are wonderful, because they have an opalescent shine, and you get 24 in a pack. They are in my Product List below.

Next, I used a Stitched Rectangles Die (1 1/4″ X 3 1/4″) to cut three rectangles from Harvest Meadow Designer Paper. I cut three more from Night Of Navy Cardstock to layer the rectangles for thickness, and attached them with Dimensionals. Eyeballing it, I began in the middle, so they could be evenly spaced.

Frosty said he wanted to say, “Hoping this season builds heartwarming memories,” and I would find it in his stamp set, Snowman Season. I agreed it was a good sentiment, and stamped it in Night of Navy Ink on blue and white, In Good Taste Designer Paper. Then, I used a smaller Stitched Rectangles Die (2 3/4″ X 3/4″ approximately) for cutting.
After a bit of a snowflake was glued beneath the label, Frosty hopped on, and the label was attached with Dimensionals. This is when Frosty yelled, “What about my snowballs?” So, I found snowballs, just his size, among the Sequins for Everything.
One last request; a decorated envelope flap with snowflakes. Frosty said it would be easy with a stamp from his set, stamped in Misty Moonlight Ink. How could I say no to a cute juggling snowman? You can see it in the first photo.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

Alcohol Blending is a technique that was used to create beautiful patterns in the Expressions In Ink Designer Paper. It makes designing cards a cinch, because the designer paper does all the work. I simply cut a section, 5 1/2″ X 4″, and glued it to a Just Jade card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Majestic Trees
This was followed by cutting two trees from Rainbow Glimmer Paper, using Majestic Mountain Dies. The die set is in the May 2021-April 2022 Annual Catalog, and I used this tree on a number of cards last year. It makes a great Christmas tree, and there are two, so you can cut them at the same time. You can see the entire set in my Product List below. There is also a coordinating, Mountain Air Stamp Set, wonderful for masculine cards.

Prior to gluing the trees in place, I stamped the sentiment. “May your days be merry & bright” is from the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set, stamped in Just Jade Ink to match the card base.
I used the Stamparatus to help insure proper stamping. It stamped just right the first time, but I like the added security of the Stamparatus. If you aren’t familiar with it, you can read about it by clicking on the picture in my Product List.
This card was almost too easy, and I tried adding some embellishments, but sometimes “less is more.”

I was inspired by TGIF.
“If you aren’t familiar with how to do the alcohol blending technique, here are a few pointers from our talented master of this technique, Tammy Wilson…
Supplies: Stampin’ Blends Markers of your choice, Vellum Cardstock, Isoproypl Alcohol (99.9% strength if possible), Small Paint Brush, Ear Syringe Bulb (Optional), Heat Tool (Optional)
Start by adding small patches of color on the vellum cardstock. Dip your paint brush in the alcohol, and sparingly add tiny drops to the colored patches. The alcohol will cause the ink to spread, so go slowly. You can also use the ear syringe bulb to blow the ink around, so that you get even more of an organic feel. Once the vellum cardstock is dry (…a Heat Tool will come in handy for this), you can always repeat the process, adding more ink and more alcohol again. The best way to add the finished product to a project is to back it with Basic White Cardstock, using little dabs of Stampin’ Seal. Of course, once you start playing around with this fun technique, you’ll find other little tips and tricks that work for you as well.”

This week’s Global Design Project is all about pumpkins, so I grabbed the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle, and stamped two pumpkins. One pumpkin was stamped in Pool Party Ink and one in Cinnamon Cider Ink, then cut with their Detailed Pumpkin Die.
My pretty pumpkins are sitting on wood, from In Good Taste Designer Paper, cut with an Ornate Layers Die.

Thanksgiving Pumpkins
The background is Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper, 4 1/2″ X 2 1/2″, glued to Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4 “, embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4”.
“Thanksgiving” was created with a Word Wishes Die, cut from Cork Specialty Paper. I can’t get enough of this cork! Not only does it look great, but it feels soft!

To play with more cork, I cut leaves, using a Giving Gifts Die. Remember? This is the one that cuts five different leaves at the same time. Additional leaves were cut, using Subtles 6X6″ Designer Paper in Pool Party and Mint Macaron plaid. I attached the leaves with Dimensionals, and my Thanksgiving card was complete.
