Stitched Triangle Squares

I must tell you, I wasn’t great at Geometry in school. However, I was able to figure out that two Stitched Triangles, with a right angle, makes a square. Using the second smallest Stitched Triangle, I cut six triangles from Thick Basic White Cardstock, creating three, 1 3/4″ X 1 3/4″ squares. The top and bottom squares are glued flat, and the middle square is attached with Dimensionals.

Stitched Leaves and Triangles

I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.  Next, is a layer is Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″, topped with Soft Sea Foam, cut 1/8″ smaller. Prior to gluing the layers together, I rolled the Soft Sea Foam through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Stitched Greenery Die. I love the ease of creating this interesting background.

The beautiful leaves were cut with an Artistic Die from Brushed Metallic Cardstock. After snipping a section of the die-cut, I used tiny dots of Liquid Glue to secure the leaves and stem in place.

The darling, little bird was also cut from Brushed Metallic Cardstock, using a Beautiful Trees Die. She is perched atop the sentiment, cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die. “You inspire me” is from the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set, stamped in Old Olive Ink.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Summer Shadows Vertical Birthday

Time is running out; Sale-a-bration is coming to a close on September 30. I don’t want you to miss out on getting this fabulous, FREE, die set, Summer Shadows. It’s FREE, because it’s one of the items you can choose when you place a qualifying order of $100. You can see the complete set in my Product List below.

I used two of the Summer Shadow Dies to create these beautiful flowers, cut from Ombre Gift Bags in Polished Pink. It’s easy to slice the bags, on the bottom and sides, making them flat for cutting. The bags come in five colors, which you can see in my Product List below. It’s thinner paper than cardstock, so the flowers have a more delicate look, plus there’s a variation in color.

By Su Mohr for PP; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Summer Shadow Dies, Shaded Summer Stamp Set, Ombre Gift Bags, Greenery Embossing Folders, Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set, Ornate Layers Dies; #summershadowsdies #shadedsummer #flowers #flowersoncards #celebratewithflowers #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stamping #stampinup #saleabration #birthdaycards

Summer Shadows

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, with the left side embossed by one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to gluing the three flowers in place, I stamped three sprigs, from the coordinating Shaded Summer Stamp Set, in Blackberry Bliss Ink. I used the “outline” flower die to cut the flower centers from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock.

Sometimes a vertical sentiment is just what you need to fit your design, and today’s card is a perfect example. “Happy Birthday” is from the Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set, stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink, and cut with an Ornate Layers Die. I backed the Basic White Cardstock with Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, cut 1/8″ larger, glued them together, and placed it on Dimensionals.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

Stitched Greenery and a Cork Pumpkin

This is the first time I’ve used the Stitched Greenery Die, and it may become a new favorite. It’s sandwiched as regular dies, but acts as an embossing folder, and can cover the entire card front. I used it with Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 4″,  glued to a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set, Detailed Pumpkins Dies, Cork Paper, Stitched Greenery Die, Ornate layers Dies; #thanksgivingcards #stitchedgreenery #prettypumpkins #detailedpumpkins #pumpkinsoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #cardsketches #cardinstruction #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stamping #stampinup

Stitched Leaves

Once my background was complete, I stamped a leaf in Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic White Cardstock. The leaf is from the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set, and I stamped it randomly, sometimes without re-inking. This is sometimes referred to as  “stamping-off.” Then, I used an Ornate Layers Die to cut three strips, and glued them on the card front.

Next, I stamped “gather together” in Mossy Meadow Ink on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock, and used an Orante layers Die for cutting. This was attached with Dimensionals to the center of the card.

The pumpkin was cut with a Detailed Pumpkins Die from Cork Specialty Paper, and attached with Dimensionals. I added a leaf, cut with a Detailed Pumpkins Die, from Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper.

You can see the entire Pretty Pumpkins Bundle in my Product List below. You can purchase the stamp set and dies separately, but you’ll save 10% by buying the bundle, and I highly recommend it.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Stitched Leaves & Pretty Pumpkin for GDP 309

What’s black and white, and Cinnamon Cider all over? Today’s Global Design Project! This week is a fun color challenge; black and white, and a color of your choice. I chose Cinnamon Cider for my Fall card with Stitched Leaves. Aren’t the leaves pretty, cut from Expressions in Ink Designer Paper? And, I love that there are dies to “emboss” the stitching.

By Su Mohr for GDP 309; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Detailed Pumpkin Dies, Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set, Expressions In Ink Designer paper, Ornate layers Dies, Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, Stitched Leaves Dies, Black & White Gingham Ribbon; #prettypumpkins #expressionsinink #ornatelayers #detailedpumpkins #stitchedleaves #fallcards #pumpkins #pumpkinsoncards #leaves #leavesoncards #gdp309 #thanksgivingcards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop

Pumpkin & Leaves

After cutting the leaves, I stamped a pumpkin, from the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set, in Stazon Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock, and used a Detailed Pumpkins Die for cutting. The background is a layer of Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die, and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

Prior to embossing the layer, I stamped the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider Ink. “So thankful for you” is from the Pretty Pumpkins Stamp Set. The layer is glued to a Cinnamon Cider card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Did you notice the cute tie on the pumpkin? It is Black & White Gingham Trim, colored with a Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blend. Stampin’ Blends have alcohol content, making them great coloring tools for ribbon, because they dry quickly.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Celebrate

Welcome to Stamping Sunday! Today, we are excited to share with you “celebration” projects.  It’s fortunate for us that Stampin’ Up! decided to offer a second Sale-a-bration this year, because that means more FREE products with a qualifying order. It also means a special “joining” offer through the month of September, which you can read about below.

“Celebrate” is the perfect word for cards, because it’s suitable for so many occasions. I designed two cards, both with a casual crafter in mind; one who might enjoy fussy cutting, and another who has patience for detail.

By Su Mohr for Stampin Sunday; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set, Playful Alphabet Dies, Scalloped Contours Dies; #delicatedahlias #scallopedcontours #playfulalphabet #celebrationcards #flowers #flowersoncards #cardtechniques #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #howto #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop

Dahlia Celebration

Let’s start with the fussy cut, Delicate Dahlia. Other than the hand cutting, this card is simple, with a few tools, which are in my Product List below.

I began with a Fresh Freesia card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Next, is a layer of Magenta Madness, cut with the largest Scalloped Contours Die. Then, a layer of tiny dots (Pattern Party Designer Paper) cut with the second largest Scalloped Contours Die.

To keep the card simple, you could stamp the flower one time, use its die for cutting, and your card would be beautiful. I made it complicated by stamping the flower three times, in three different colors (Fresh Freesia, Magenta Madness, Highland Heather). Then, I used two-step stamping, stamping over each flower with the outline stamp in Memento Black Ink. This stamp gave me the lines to follow for fussy cutting. After cutting, I layered the flowers with Dimensionals, and attached it to the card front.

The sentiment, “Let’s celebrate you,” is from the Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on gingham from Pansy Petals Designer Paper. I used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting, as well as for the black & white, Pattern Party strip, beneath it.

My second design really highlights the word, “celebrate,” created with Playful Alphabet Dies, and Pattern Party Designer Paper. The letters can take a bit of patience, but worth the effort.

First, I attached a 1″strip of black, Pattern Party Designer Paper, to a 1″ strip of Foam Adhesive Sheet, placing the letters on top, and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I turned the letters upside down, and ran it through a second time to make sure it was a good cut.

The Foam Adhesive Sheet is an easy way to give the small letters wonderful dimension, and it’s fairly easy to peel the backing and stick them to the card front. The letters could be lined up evenly on the lined Pattern Party Designer Paper beneath them, by putting the bottom of the letter down first.

The platform was created by gluing the designer paper to Thick Basic White Cardstock, 4 3/4″ X 1/1/2″, and cutting the top with a Scalloped Contours Die.

The background was really fun to create, and something a beginner would enjoy. I started by randomly stamping a Delicate Dahlia stamp, in Magenta Madness Ink, on Basic White Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. Then, I stamped over each flower in Memento Black Ink, using the two-step, outline stamp. Next, I used the largest Scalloped Contours Die for cutting.

I glued my pretty layer of flowers to a Polished Pink card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I attached my platform with Dimensionals, and added a few Artistry Blooms Sequins.

Our designers are excited to share their “celebrate” projects with you, so hop along, and enjoy!

Welcoming Woods Santa & Reindeer

Santa and his reindeer need to take a break, occasionally, and Welcoming Woods is the perfect place, don’t you think?

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Welcoming Woods Stamp Set, Giving Gifts Dies, Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set; #welcomingwoods #givinggifts #tidingsofchristmas #santa #santaoncards #christmascards #holidaycards #holiday2021 #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #treesoncards #stampinup #stamping

Wonderous Woods

As soon as I saw the Welcoming Woods Stamp Set, I knew it would be a good background for Santa and his reindeer. I stamped the trees in Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″, making sure the trees would grow off the top of the card.

Next, I stamped the Heartfelt Wishes sentiment, “this wondrous season,” in Evening Evergreen Ink. How I love this font! Then, I glued this top layer to red, striped, Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, in the upper right corner.

The card base is Evening Evergreen, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Santa and his reindeer were cut with a Giving Gifts Die from Tidings Of Christmas Designer Paper. I snipped them free from the frame, glued them in place, and my clean & simple card was complete.

The Giving Gifts Die is in the first photo, and you can see the complete set, along with all of my supplies, in the Product List below.

I went a little rogue on the sketch, but Freshly Made Sketches truly was my inspiration.
