Happy New Year 2022

It’s always good to have “Happy New Year” cards in your stash, to send to those that missed your holiday card list. Right? Plus, I love new beginnings, and I’m always excited for January 1. Today’s card uses the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper to highlight 2022.

Happy 2022

“2022” was cut with Playful Alphabet Dies and Foam Adhesive Sheets.

First, I attached a 1″strip of Be Dazzling Specialty Paper to a 1″ strip of Foam Adhesive Sheet, placing the numbers on top, and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I turned the numbers upside down, and ran it through a second time to make sure it was a good cut.

The Foam Adhesive Sheet is an easy way to give the small letters wonderful dimension, and it’s easy to peel the backing and stick them to the label.

The label was cut with a Stitched So Sweetly Die from Thick Basic White Cardstock, and placed on Dimensionals. “Happy new year” is from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and also cut with a Stitched So Sweetly Die.

The colorful “fireworks” were cut with Seasonal Swirls Dies (circles with stars) and Christmas Trimmings Dies (single stars), from Rainbow Glimmer Paper.

White makes a great background for bright colors, so I used a Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) topped with Basic White White Cardstock, cut with the largest Scalloped Contours Die. To add a little texture, I embossed the layer with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

The supplies I used for today’s card are in my Product List below. The Be Dazzling Specialty Paper shows $0.00, because it’s one of the FREE items you can choose, with a $50.00 order, during this final month of Sale-a-bration.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

Spooky’s Halloween Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Sentiment as a focal point.” We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Spooky, the Cat Punch, has been waiting patiently for his time to “shine,” and Halloween is his favorite theme.

He wanted the sentiment to be prominent, and sparkly, so insisted I use Be Dazzling Specialty Paper to cut “Happy Halloween” with Word Wishes Dies. This specialty paper is FREE with a $50.00 order during this final month of Sale-a-bration!

By Su Mohr for the Pals Blog Hop; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for instructions! Spooky’s Halloween Card

Spooky said he wanted to be shiny, as well, and told me how to make him shine.

Would you like to know how to make cardstock shine? It’s really very simple. Just stamp cardstock with the Versamark Stamp Pad, sprinkle it with Clear Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. If you use Basic Black Cardstock, as I did, along with the Cat Punch, out will pop a shiny, black, cat. (You can see the shine in the last photo).

The background was built of layers, beginning with the Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Next, a layer of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock (4 1/8 X 5 3/8), next, black and white leaves from Pattern Party Designer Paper (4″ X 5 1/4″), next, Gorgeous Grape Cardstock (3 3/8″ X 4 5/8″), and a top layer of Basic White Cardstock (3 1/4″ X 4 1/2″).

Spooky said his card wouldn’t be complete without an orange pumpkin, and we found one he liked in the Detailed Pumpkins Die Set. We cut the pumpkin from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, of course, and the leaf from Granny Apple Green Cardstock.

As soon as I attached the pumpkin with Dimensionals, Spooky hopped on the card front, very pleased with his Halloween card, and his shiny fur.

You can find all of Spooky’s supplies in my Product List below.

I appreciate you visiting. Thank you!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 13th. Our theme will be Fantastic Fun Folds and 3D Projects when participants showcase fun fold cards or 3D items that will be great for any occasion. Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Christmas Pinecone Melody

Christmas music and the smell of pine, ahhhh. I began today’s card by using a large Christmas Pinecone Die to cut from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. Then, I sponged Mossy Meadow Ink on the die-cut, giving it a variation in color.

I snipped the large die-cut into three sections, so I can make two more cards from the extra pieces.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Christmas Pinecone Dies, Merry Melody Embossing Folder, Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set; #christmaspinecone #merrymelody #heartfeltwishes #christmascards #holidaycards #holiday2021 #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stampinup #stamping

Christmas Pinecones

Next, I cut solid pinecones from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock, using three Christmas Pinecone Dies. With tiny dots of glue I adhered the pinecones to the back of the Mossy Meadow die-cut, and placed them on Dimensionals.

For the background, I embossed a layer of Basic White Cardstock with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is my Host Code gift for the month of September, and you can see the details below. Then, I glued the music layer to a Cherry Cobbler card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to embossing, I stamped “Merry Christmas” in Cherry Cobbler Ink. Don’t you love the font? It’s from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set, which has other holiday sentiments you should check out in my Product List.

A  few Matt Decorative Dots were added as a final touch.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Delicate Dahlias for GDP 308

Today, the Global Design Project Designers are “caseing” Wilma De Korte. What a fun design, with stamped flowers, and a masked center!

By Su Mohr for GDP 308; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set, Playful Alphabet Dies, Artistically Inked Stamp Set, Ornate Frames Dies, Loose Flower Flourishes; #playfulalphabet #delicatedahlias #flowers #flowersoncards #caseing #gdp308 #friendshipcards #hellocards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #masking #howtomask #cardtechniques #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stampinup #stamping

Masked Dahlias

Here is Wilma’s design. You can click on her card for more inspiration, then add your own card to our gallery.

I began with a Petal Pink card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Next, I stamped the pretty flower from the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set. This stamp set has 12 stamps, some “Distinktive,” and with “two-step” stamping possibilities. It’s one you don’t want to miss, especially because it’s FREE (with a 100.00 order) during Sale-a-bration.

Sale-a-bration ends September 30, so don’t delay. You can see the entire set by clicking on the picture in my Product List below.

I stamped the flower, randomly, in three colors of ink; Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Flirty Flamingo. The middle, white space, was masked with Vellum. I tried cardstock, but it was too thick to leave a clean line from the stamped flowers.

“Hello” is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, stamped in Stazon Black Ink, cut with an Ornate Frames Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

To complete the sentiment, the word “friend” was created with Playful Alphabet Dies.

First, I attached a 1″strip of Subtles 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper in Petal Pink to a 1″ strip of Foam Adhesive Sheet, placing the letters on top, and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I turned the letters upside down, and ran it through a second time to make sure it was a good cut.

The Foam Adhesive Sheet is an easy way to give the small letters wonderful dimension, and it’s easy to peel the backing and stick them to the card front. I placed a ruler on the card, so they could be lined up evenly.

The last touch was adding three Loose Flower Flourishes. Thank you, Wilma, for the great inspiration!

Snow Wonder Snowman

The Snow Wonder Stamp Set is in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog, and has this fabulous snowman. For those who don’t enjoy fussing cutting, it’s perfect, because there’s a die for cutting the snowman in the coordinating, Snow Time Die Set.

I stamped the snowman in Evening Evergreen Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock. Thick cardstock was used, so he would be sturdy atop Dimensionals.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring, Snow Wonder Stamp Set, Snow Time Dies, Painted Christmas Designer Paper, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Playful Pets Trim; #snowwonder #snowtime #snowman #snowmenoncards #christmascards #holidaycards #holiday2021 #cardsketches #handmadecards #papercrafting #cardmaking #handcrafted #diy #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #cardchallenges

Snow Wonder

For the background, I began with an Evening Evergreen card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Next, I used two patterns of Painted Christmas Designer Paper, cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies. The first was glued vertically across the middle (4″ X 2 1/2″), and the second, glued horizontally (3″ X 4 1/4″).

“Happy Christmas” is from the Snow Wonder Stamp Set, stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink, and cut with a Snow Time Die.

To highlight the vertically placed label, I tied a red bow, attached with a Glue Dot.

You can see all of the stamps and dies from the sets in my Product List below, and clicking on the pictures takes you to all the details.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.
