Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “2021-2023 New In-Colors.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. Then, at the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Stampin’ Up’s! catalogs are always exciting, and we anticipate the new, annual, In Color Collection, with bated breath! This year’s five new colors did not disappoint. I chose three of them for today’s project: Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen. The supplies I used for today’s card are in my Product List below.

In Color Flower
First, I began with a Soft Succulent card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This was layered with a gingham print in Soft Succulent from Pansy Petals Designer Paper, cut with the largest, Scalloped Contours Die. I might as well say right now, that I will be using these dies on many of my cards. You can see all 8 dies in my Product List below.
Second, I used the third largest Scalloped Contours Die to cut Basic White Cardstock. I love this sentiment from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, which I stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink.

Third, I stamped the flower from the Color and Contour Stamp Set in Fresh Freesia Ink on basic White Cardstock, and cut with a Scalloped Contours Die.
The stem was cut with a Meadow Die from Evening Evergreen Cardstock, which I took the liberty to snip a bit. The dies are pictured in the first photo.

After gluing the flower and stem to the top layer, which I attached with Dimensionals, it was time for embellishments. I added the Loose Flower Flourishes with a pin dot of glue, and one of the Bumblebee Trinkets with a Glue Dot. Aren’t they fabulous? The bees are like gold jewelry, and the flowers come in three In Colors, in two sizes. You can check them out in my Product List.

You might be wondering how the new In Colors compare with similar Stampin Up! colors, and thanks to Debbie Henderson, we have some great charts:

The Party Puffins, from the new, 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, were designed to say “Happy Birthday.” Here they are in their natural habitat of coastal cliffs by the sea. The smaller one looks like a baby to me, and he’s called a puffling. Aren’t they cute?
I stamped the Puffins in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and cut them free. They were a cinch to color; only requiring a bit of Stampin’ Blends on their beaks and feet in three colors: Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Daffodil Delight.

Party Puffins
To create their habitat, I began with a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I cut a layer of sea from Sand & Sea Designer Paper, 4″ X 5″.
Next, I created the coastal cliffs, using a Majestic Mountain Die, and In Good Taste Designer Paper. I glued two sections flat, and placed one on Dimensionals, trimming the sides to fit the 4″ layer of sea.

Last, I stamped “Happy Birthday,” from the Party Puffins Stamp Set, in Seaside Spray Ink in the sea.

Today’s card fits the birthday theme at Global Design Project. Now, get out your favorite birthday stamp set, and create a card for our gallery. We’d love for you to join us in celebrating birthdays.

Sometimes, when going through challenges in life, a humorous card is helpful. The Back On Your Feet Stamp Set has great images and sentiments for these occasions.

“This is knot good”
I stamped the cute giraffe, with his knotted neck, in Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I colored the giraffe with Stampin’ Blends in two colors, Crumb Cake and Daffodil Delight. I used a Rectangles Stitched Die for cutting; the one that measures 2 1/4″ X 3 1/2″.
Next, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut the background, wood pattern, from Neutrals 6″X6″ Designer Paper.

The next step was when an exciting discovery happened; exciting to me anyway. I discovered that the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die fits perfectly within the largest Scalloped Contours Die! I love this new die set that’s available May 4th! The item number is #155560.
After gluing the layers together, I glued this to the Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment makes the card complete, stamped in Early Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I used a Snail Die for cutting the bubble, because the giraffe wanted to make sure you knew he was speaking.

I was inspired by Fusion.

For this week’s Global Design Project, we have a circular sketch, and I envisioned a beautiful Hawaiian lei. Can’t you smell the flowers?

Hawaiian Lei
The leaves are from the retiring, Forever Gold Laser-Cut Paper. I used the backside of the paper, which is white, and colored it with a Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend.

I cut the flowers, using a die from In The Tropics, from three colors of cardstock: Real Red, Magenta Madness, and Basic White.
The background is Sand & Sea Designer Paper, which I cut 1/8″ smaller than the Basic White layer, which is 4″ X 5 1/4″. The card base is Seaside Spray (a retiring color) 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Aloha” is also an In The Tropics die, which I cut from Basic Black Cardstock. For a final touch, I added three little pearls. Hawaii has wonderful necklaces of pearls and shells!

We’d love to see how you envision the circular sketch. Please add your creation to our gallery.

Purple pansies are gorgeous, don’t you think? This pansy was cropped right from the Pansy Petals Designer Paper with a Pansy Die.
The leaves were cut from Basic White Cardstock with a Forever Flourishing Die. Then, I snipped two branches, glued them to the back of the flower, and placed it on Dimensionals.

Pansy Love
The circle of wood was cut with a Painted Labels Die from In Good Taste Designer Paper. I’m happy that this paper is carrying over to the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. The paper I used for photography is another pattern of In Good Taste Designer Paper. I love the texture and dimension it adds.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. Prior to gluing it to the Gorgeous Grape card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I used a Forever Fern stamp to make dots with Gorgeous Grape Ink.

The sentiment, “love you much,” is from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set, stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink on Fresh Freesia Cardstock, and cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die.
I made the label shorter by using a larger Stitched Rectangles Die to cut the end.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Are you excited to see the winner of my April drawing? Congratulations Damaris D!!! I’ll be sending you the Darling Donkeys Stamp Set.

Everyone else who ordered a minimum of $75.00 in April will receive the Meadow Moments Embossing Folders, which I’ll be mailing soon.

Now, for today’s card from the soon-to-be released Pansy Patch Bundle. Who doesn’t love pansies? And, today’s card is using four of the new 2021-2023 In Colors: Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, and Soft Succulent.

Pansy Thank You
We can start with the easy part of cutting the Soft Succulent card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I layered this with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die. Then, I stamped “thank you,” from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set, in Evening Evergreen, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting.

It took some time to figure out the parts of the pansy, but don’t let the number of pieces scare you. I’ll explain how I used 11 of them for this arrangement.
First, I cut three petals (one large, two smaller) from Basic White Cardstock, and brushed Polished Pink Ink on the edges with Pale Papaya Ink toward the center. Embossing is included in the die-cut, which gives it a great look. Don’t you think?
After gluing the three petals together, I cut the two center pieces, coloring them in Pale Papaya and Polished Pink.

Second, I added the three leaves; two small, and one larger. The solid, embossed leaves, were cut from the same color as the card base, Soft Succulent. Then, I cut the “open” leaves from Basic White Cardstock, and colored them with Evening Evergreen.
After gluing the leaves together, I tucked them under the pansy that was attached with Dimensionals.

Last, I gave the pansy a blossom, using three dies. I cut the blossom from Basic White Cardstock, coloring one part with Polished Pink, and one part with Pale Papaya. After cutting the stem from Soft Succulent, I glued the three together, and glued it beneath the pansy.

See, that wasn’t hard, was it? I already have another pansy card ready for tomorrow.
