For my first Easter card of 2021, I was excited to use a new stamp set, Springtime Joy. You can see the entire set in my Product List below.
Isn’t this lamb adorable? Some of you might be too young, but I remember the ventriloquist, Shari Lewis, and her famous puppet, Lamb Chop, so that’s what I named her.

Lamb Chop
Lamb Chop is very shy, but agreed to let me feature her on my card, if I did all the talking, and let her quietly appear. I stamped her in Memento Black ink on Basic White Cardstock, then fussy cut along the lines, and placed her on Dimensionals.
Prior to attaching her to the card front, I colored her headpiece and hooves with Stampin’ Blends in four colors: Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Just Jade, and Smoky Slate.

For Lamb Chop’s background, I applied a stenciling technique, using a piece of Forever Gold Laser-Cut Paper as a stencil. Then, I added Flirty Flamingo Ink with a Blending Brush on top of Basic White Cardstock. After I was happy with the amount of ink, I removed the stencil, and cut the paper to 3″ X 4 1/2″. Then, I backed it with True Love Designer paper, 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16″, black & white border.

Prior to gluing my art piece to the Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) I embossed it with the largest Stitched With Whimsy Die. This is such a simple way to add a detailed border. Even Lamb Chop softly said she loved it!
Something to not overlook is the sentiment. The Word Wishes Dies, cut from Silver Foil, say “Happy Easter,” in a big way. The first picture shows off the shine.

I was inspired by the colors at the Paper Players challenge.

The hand-painted designs of the Fine Art Floral Paper are so pretty, and I gave this print (5″ X 3 3/4″) some texture, so it looks like fabric.

Hand-painted “fabric”
After rolling the floral paper through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, I glued it to a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I cut a square from Very Vanilla Cardstock, using the largest, plain, Layering Squares Die. Then, I used the Floral Galley Die to cut “just want to say” from the square, added texture, and glued it to the card front.
To complete the lettering, I cut “just want to say” from Brushed Metallic Cardstock, and glued the words in the holes. This is called the “inlaid” technique.

“Thank you” is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, stamped in Night of Navy Ink, and cut with a Floral Gallery Die.
While attaching the sentiment with Mini Dimensionals, a ladybug landed on the card. Isn’t it cute? Scroll on down to see how you can get some ladybugs, as a gift from me.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Did you know that dogs can dance? Well, this pair of doxies proves that they can! They assured me that all they had to do was stand on their hind legs, and hold each other’s front paws.

Dancing Doxies
The doxies are from the, appropriately named, Hot Dog Stamp Set. They knew everyone wouldn’t want to color them, so advised I show how cute they look, simply stamped, on In Good Taste Designer Paper. I agreed this woodgrain paper made nice fur, used my Paper Snips to set them free, and placed them on Dimensionals.

The doxies wanted to have a “brilliant” background, and chose the brand new, Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper. It’s part of the Butterfly Brilliance Collection, with stamps and dies, which will be in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. Everyone gets to order it early, beginning March 2nd, so I agreed to let them show you a sneak peek of the paper. Isn’t it pretty?
I cut a 3 3/4″ X 5″ layer, from the 6″ X 6″ butterfly paper, and backed it with Basic Black Cardstock, 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16th” border. This was glued to a Coastal Cabana card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

For the sentiment, the doxies insisted on using the word “dance,” even though we found it in the retired, Beautiful You Stamp Set. I stamped it in Coastal Cabana Ink and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting. Prior to cutting, I stamped the words, “Today’s Plan,” from the Nothing’s Better Than Stamp Set, in Memento Black Ink. To complete the card, I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals to an Ornate Frame, cut from Coastal Cabana Cardstock.

This week’s Global Design Project is all about animals. I hope you are inspired to create a card, and hang it in our gallery.

Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Sunday Blog Hop, featuring our favorites from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog. When first viewing the catalog, a “stand-out” suite for me was Sand & Sea. I started collecting shells as a youngster, and thoughts of the beach bring me joy.

Seashell Card & Gift Box
For this gift set, the first step was designing the card, using the Sand & Sea Designer Paper. I used a Curvy Die to cut two pieces of “sand” from 5 1/2″ X 4″ designer paper, and added texture with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder.
You have to make sure the die is facing the right direction, if you want the little dots to show.
I glued the two curved, “sand” pieces on top of the shell paper, 5 1/2″ X 3 1/2″, which I glued to a Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
A triple bow of Linen Thread was attached to the sentiment, and Whale Of A Time Sequins were added to the scene.

I completed the card with a decorated envelop, by cutting a piece of Sand & Sea Designer Paper 5 3/4″ X 2 1/4″, adding a thin line of Liquid Glue around the edge of the envelope flap, and attaching the paper. Then, using my Paper Snips, I cut the excess, with the edge of the flap as a template.

My gift box is a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box, which can be ordered by clicking on its picture in my Product List below. The box measures 5 7/8″ X 3 3/4″ X 1″, and is food safe. There are 10, very sturdy, boxes in a pack, scored, ready to fold, and no glue required. Isn’t that fantastic?

Decorating the box is fun too, and reminded me of my grandmother’s beautifully wrapped packages. She would wrap just the lid, so the boxes could be used year after year. This box was “wrapped” in the same manner. The paper is Sand & Sea Designer Paper, cut in five pieces: top-5 1/2″ X 3 3/4″, long sides-5 1/2″ X 1″, short sides-3 3/4″ X 1″. They were easily adhered to the box with Tombow Liquid Glue.

Once the five pieces of Sand & Sea Designer Paper were adhered to the box, I cut a piece of shell paper (the same one as the card) with an Ornate Layers Die, and glued it on top.
Next, I stamped two sand dollars in Sahara Sand Ink, and a starfish in Seaside Spray Ink, on Basic White Cardstock, and fussy cut them along the lines. The starfish was given a touch of blue with Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends.
I used the large Seaside Shell Die to cut the seaweed from Sahara Sand Cardstock, and glued it in place before attaching the shells with Dimensionals.
When tying the Braided Linen Trim around the box, I made sure it could slip between the Dimensionals of the sand dollar that’s on top of it.

The last step of my project was adding sentiments from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set. I stamped “love you to the beach and back” and “for you” in Early Espresso ink, cut with Ornate Frames Dies, and attached with Dimensionals.

Now, continue on the hop to see more favorites from the January to June 2021 Mini Catalog.

Don’t you like surprises? That’s what today’s card was, because it developed quickly, with only a simple sketch as a guide.

Surprise Vine
I began by stamping a vine, one up and one down, diagonally, from the Flowering Blooms Stamp Set in Jet Black Stazon Ink on Basic White Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″. Then, I stamped “thank you” from the Art Gallery Stamp Set in the middle.
Next, I backed the white layer with True Love Designer Paper, 1/8″ larger, so it would have a 1/16″ border of the back & white pattern. This was glued to a Rococo Rose card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

I created the two middle strips with Fine Art Floral Designer Paper, a Floral Gallery Die, and Foam Adhesive Sheets. Do you see how the strips fit together? Total surprise!
The pink and orange were so pretty together, I added some Woven Threads Sequins in those colors.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

I grew up playing in the sand on San Diego beaches. During my teenage years, I drew a heart, or two, with different initials. You know what I mean? Ocean waves serve as an eraser, but, once written those memories remain in your heart forever.

writing in the sand
A card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) of Sahara Sand is a natural choice, right? And, it blends beautifully with the Sand & Sea Designer Paper. It looks so real, I felt like I needed to brush the sand off my work table.
A Be Mine Stitched Die, in the shape of a heart, was used to “draw” my heart in the sand. Then, I used Well Written Dies to write “love you” in the sand with Crumb Cake Cardstock.
After layering the heart for thickness, I raised it on Dimensionals.

Seaweed was created with the large Seaside & Seashells Die and Crumb Cake Cardstock. After using the Seashells Embossing Folder on the cut cardstock, I snipped a piece, and added it to the scene.

The two shells and starfish are from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set, stamped in Sahara Sand Ink, Blushing Bride Ink, and Smoky Slate Ink, on Basic White Cardstock. After fussy cutting the shells along their lines, I molded them with my fingers, and attached them with Dimensionals.
The Opal Rounds are so gorgeous, I couldn’t resist adding a few, as a final touch.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.
