I’ve been in Valentine card-making mode, so I’m continuing with one in neutral colors. I’m thinking this would appeal to guys, don’t you agree?

Valentine in Neutrals
A card base in Crumb Cake Cardstock is always a good bet for guys, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Next, I cut a layer of Basic White Cardstock, 5″ X 3 3/4″, and used a Be Mine Stitched Die to cut the band of hearts across the center. This die is great, because it cuts a “frame” of hearts, and also gives you 21 little hearts. But for this card, I glued the frame back in the hole (inlaid), after backing the white layer with wood texture, In Good Taste Designer Paper. I hope this makes sense.
Once my heart layer was glued together, I backed it with True Love Designer Paper, 1/8″ larger, giving it a narrow, black & white, diagonal border.

The banner was cut from Brushed Metallic Cardstock, using the Banner Triple Punch, 1″ X 1 3/4″. I gave it some texture with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder. The punch is a handy tool that you can check out in my Product List below.
The heart by the banner was cut from True Love Designer Paper with a Be Mine Stitched Die. I backed it for thickness, gave it a Linen Thread bow, and attached it with Dimensionals.
“Sent with love” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Stazon Ink, and cut with a Floral Gallery Die. Don’t you love the perforated edge?

I was inspired by the sketch and colors at Fusion.

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created “Birthday Bonanza” projects to inspire you to make for all of your family and friends. We hope you enjoy and are inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments because we all love hearing from you! At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
For all the dog lovers, or anyone young at heart, the Hot Dog Stamp Set is perfect for saying “Happy Birthday!” And, the Stitched With Whimsy Dies add to its whimsical flair.

Hot Dog!
I started off by using the largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock.
Then, I used the second to largest Stitched With Whimsy Die, which fits perfectly within the stitched rectangle. The Whimsy Dies are debossing tools, so unlike the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cut completely, they leave a detailed, stitched impression in the paper. You can see all the sizes in my Product List below.
Next, I glued a 4″ X 5″ piece of Bermuda Bay, from Brights 6X6 Designer Paper, to the back of the white, stitched piece. And, this was glued to the Granny Apple Green card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Now, for the darling dogs from the Hot Dog Stamp Set. I stamped them in Early Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock, cut them along their lines, and colored them with Stampin’ Blends in two colors: Crumb Cake and Cinnamon Cider.
Then, I glued the paws and tail of the one getting a ride, to the back of the other one, before attaching them with Dimensionals.
Prior to attaching the dogs, I positioned them, so I could stamp the balloons where the dogs would be able to hold onto the balloons by the strings. The balloons were stamped in Early Espresso Ink, colored with Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

I’m not sure where the expression, “hot dog” originated, but I’ve said it my entire life. Have you? It’s very appropriate with this stamp set, and I love how it’s combined with a birthday wish.
I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso Ink, and cut it with a Stitched Rectangles Die, which provided a nice foundation for the two dogs.

Thanks so much for hopping by!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on March 10th when our theme will be “Cute Critters” where the design team will be sharing projects that will feature critters of all sorts to inspire you. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

Who could resist this adorable sea turtle? He swam onto my card before I could stop him, and I let him stay.

Sea Turtle’s Thank You
Prior to the sea turtle’s arrival, I painted lines across the middle of Basic White Cardstock (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) with Stampin’ Blends in five colors: Mint Macaron, Pool Party, Shaded Spruce, Just Jade, and Bermuda Bay.

Next, I used a Whale Done stamp to add some dots in Pool Party Ink, and some in gold that I heat embossed. Then, I used the Largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. Using the same die, with the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die, I cut a frame from Brushed Metallic Cardstock. While cutting, I placed the dies together, and I have a nice center section, saved for another card.

After gluing the frame to my white layer, I glued my art piece to a Just Jade card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. And, that’s when the sea turtle appeared. I have to blame myself, because I cut him free from the Whale Of A Time Designer Paper, and Dimensionals were close by.
Fortunately, he was a very polite sea turtle, and wished to say “thank you,” which I found in the Special Someone Stamp Set. I stamped it in Just Jade Ink, and used the Special Day bubble die for cutting. He wanted to make sure everyone could see he was speaking, so I brushed the edges of the bubble with a Sponge Dauber and Just Jade Ink.
The sea turtle thought we needed more sparkle, so I obliged by adding some Whale Of A Time Sequins. Oops, they aren’t in my Product List, and if you need them, they are #152461.

Here is this week’s Global Design Project sketch, so you can see how this was my inspiration. I hope that you are inspired, as well, and will create a card that you’ll post in our gallery.

It’s always exciting to receive new product, and a box arrived on my doorstep yesterday. The January-June 2021 Catalog has so much to love, I couldn’t get it all at once. But, I have a feeling the Hot Dog Stamp Set and Stitched With Whimsy Dies will become fast favorites.

Puppy Love
I couldn’t wait to give the Stitched With Whimsy Dies a roll through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. This die is the second to largest, and fits perfectly on a 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock. The dies are debossing tools, so rather than completely cutting, they leave a detailed, stitched impression in the paper. You can see all the sizes in my Product List below.
After admiring the whimsical stitching, I backed the white layer with Real Red Cardstock, 1/8″ larger, giving it a 1/16″ border. Then, I glued both to a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I stamped one of the smiling dogs from the Hot Dog Stamp Set, cut him free, and colored him with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. His smile is contagious, isn’t it?

In addition to cute pups, this stamp set also has some fun sentiments to coordinate. I stamped, “I love you, that’s the long and short of it,” on Peony Garden Designer Paper in Petal Pink. I liked the texture of this paper, rather than using solid cardstock. Then, I cut the heart with a Be Mine Stitched Die, and backed it for thickness.
The heart and pup were attached with Dimensionals, and my card, using exciting, new, product was complete. I’m already planning my next card with the Hot Dog Stamp Set that I’ll post on Wednesday!

I was inspired by the colors at TGIF.

Stenciling on cards is so much fun, and the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Paper makes a great stencil.

Stenciled Sun
I began with the idea of a sun, and chose a circular piece of Forever Gold Laser-Cut Paper with rays of foliage.
I held the stencil, with my hand, on top of Basic White Cardstock, 4′ X 5 1/4″, with the gold side down. Then, using a Blending Brush, I applied a small amount of Blushing Bride Ink, rubbed the bristles clean on scratch paper, and continued applying Bumblebee Ink to the “rays.” I started at the center, where I wanted darker color, and lighter as I moved outward.
No worries, if the stencil moves, because you can reposition it, and continue applying ink.

“Sending sunshine for a beautiful birthday” is from the Welcoming Window Stamp Set. I stamped it in Blushing Bride Ink on Basic White Cardstock, cut with a scalloped, Layering Circles Die, and attached it with Dimensionals.

After gluing my art piece to the Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, I applied several sequins. I chose a green shade, from Whale Of A Time Sequins, to qualify as Just Jade for the Fab Friday card challenge.

Today’s card was made, mostly, with the Birds & More Dies, but you’ll notice there are no birds. So, this is the “More.”

“More” Hearts
I began with the “foliage” circle die , which was used to cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock. Then, I cut the “foliage” circle from the cardstock using the largest Layering Circles Die. It just happens to be the perfect size!
Next, I used the largest Layering Circles Die to cut from Fine Art Floral Designer Paper in the Pool Party, brush stroke, pattern. After gluing these circles together, I made it thicker by gluing to a third circle, cut with the Layering Circles Die.

The background for my circle is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, given detail at the bottom with another “More” Die. After stamping “from the bottom of my heart,” I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. But, keep reading to see how I curved the sentiment.

The bendability of photopolymer stamps is one of their great features. This sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black, and curved with the help of my Stamparatus. I used the Layering Circles Die to judge the curve while sticking the sentiment to the lid of the Stamparatus. Pretty nifty, huh?
I hope you can see from my photo how it was done. Yes, I have a broken magnet. I thought I was home free, because after two years, I had two whole magnets. But, alas, it happened. Those magnets have a mind of their own!

Last, but not least, the sweet, little hearts. Using a heart stamp from the Birds & Branches Stamp Set, I stamped the heart in four colors of ink (Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, and Daffodil Delight) on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I cut the hearts with, yet another, “More” Die, and attached them with Mini Dimensionals.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.
