Festive Corners Valentine

I LOVE making Valentines, so once Christmas cards are mailed, I get carried away with hearts!

Love You Lots

The first thing I did for today’s card was cut a heart from the beautiful, Berry Delightful Designer Paper. This paper is from Sale-a-Bration, which will be available January 5, 2021, and the die is from the current, Be Mine Stitched Dies.

The heart die cuts a plain heart and a scalloped edge at the same time. I used Thick Whisper White Cardstock to cut a second heart, backing the strawberry heart for thickness (attached with Dimensionals) and adding a scalloped white border (glued flat).

Next, I cut a rectangle from Whisper White Cardstock, using the largest, Stitched So Sweetly Die, and embossed it with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder.

Prior to embossing, I stamped, “love you lots” in Real Red Ink, from the Festive Corners Stamp Set. It’s nice that the texture doesn’t interfere with the legibility of the writing.

This has been one of my favorite stamp sets from the August to December 2020 Mini Catalog, and it’s retiring. Don’t you “love” the corner sentiment?” You can see the complete set in my Product List below, and clicking on the picture takes you to my store for ordering.

I used the second largest, Stitched So Sweetly Die, to cut from Subtles 6X6 Designer Paper in a Blushing Bride print. Then, I cut this rectangle in half, and glued the two pieces to the back sides of the white rectangle.

The background is Fine Art Floral Designer Paper (5 1/4″ X 4″) embossed with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder, glued to a Thick Whisper White card base (8 1/2″ X 5/1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″). The Floral Art Designer Paper is in the new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, available January 5, 2021.

I was inspired by Freshly made Sketches.

Peace On Earth for GDP 272-2

Today’s Global Design Project is the final one for 2021; a two week challenge. I used retiring, and current products, plus a new tool, Blending Brushes.

By Su Mohr for GDP272-2; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Bird & More Dies, Joy Dies, Peace & Joy Stamp Set, Sounds Of The Season Dies, Blending Brushes; #christmascards #holidaycards #holiday2020 #birds&more #soundsoftheseason #bellsoncards #peaceandjoy#joydies #worddies #cardchallenges #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking #diy #papercrafting

Peace on earth

I began by using Blending Brushes to color Whisper White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 4″) with Balmy Blue Ink and Highland Heather Ink. The Blending Brushes are a new item in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (#153611), and will be available January 5th. They are so soft, and easy to clean by rinsing with water, you’re going to love them!

Next, I cut Thick Whisper White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 2″) with a Birds & More Die, and glued it across the top of my colored layer. Doesn’t it have a pretty edge?

The card base is Thick Whisper White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Peace” was made with two Joy Dies, Silver Foil, Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and attached with Mini Dimensionals. The coordinating stamp set, Peace & Joy, provided the words “on earth” that I stamped in Balmy Blue Ink. The two “peace” dies are shown in the first photo.

Finally, the five bells were made with a Sounds Of The Season Die, Silver Foil, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.

Here is Kerstin’s gorgeous card that we used for inspiration. You can click on it to see how the other GDP designers used Kerstin’s idea.

The stamp set and two die sets that were used for the sentiment are in the Year-End Closeout Sale.

A Merry Christmas Moose

Today’s card features the Mountain Air Bundle and Mr. Moose, coming together in a Christmas card.

Mr. Moose is walking next to a tree, cut from Mossy Meadow Cardstock, with a Majestic Mountain Die. I cut a second tree from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and glued them together with the white tree a smidge higher. Voila! snow on the branches.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Moose Punch, Mountain Air Bundle, Majestic Mountain Dies, Mountain Air Stamp Set, Layering Ovals Dies; #christmascards #holidaycards #holiday2020 #stampinup #mooseoncards #retiringproducts #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #cardchallenges #treesoncards

Majestic Mountain Moose

The background scene began by stamping a mountain range from the Mountain Air Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow Ink, and cutting with a Majestic Mountain Die.

The distant mountain range, in Whisper White, was cut with another die in the set, and glued together on Whisper White Cardstock.

Next, I used the second largest Layering Ovals Die for cutting the oval. It was a little difficult cutting through the layers of mountains, but I managed.

The border was cut from Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper, with the largest, scalloped, Layering Ovals Die.

“Merry Christmas” is from the Cherish The Season Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink, and cut with a Majestic Mountain Die, upside down. Mr. Moose needed solid ground for walking.

I punched the moose twice from Early Espresso Cardstock, glued him together for thickness, and gave him furry texture with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder.

Sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to Mr. Moose, because he is retiring. You can order him by clicking on his picture in my Product List below. But, don’t delay, because he is on the “low inventory” list, and when he’s gone, he’s gone.

You can see the entire, retiring list, by clicking here. The list is long, but to make it easier, it’s in order by page number (August-December 2020 Mini Catalog).

Sneak Peek of the Fine Art Floral Suite

The soon-to-be released Stampin’ Up! catalog has some spectacular suites, and Fine Art Floral is one of them! Today’s card uses just few of the items, which I’ll describe for you. I’ll also provide product numbers, so you’ll be ready to order when they’re available, January 5, 2021.

By Su Mohr for cts; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring Fine Art Floral paper, Art Gallery Stamp Set, Floral Gallery Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, True Love paper; #thinkingofyoucards #friendshipcards #artgallery #floralgallery #fineartfloral #cardsketches #stampinup2021 #june-july2021 #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #flowersoncards

Angled Art

The first thing I did was cut a piece of the fabulous Fine Art Floral Designer Paper (#154558), using the largest, right angle, Stitched Triangles Die. Then, I cut two 6″ X 1/2″ strips of designer paper; the red pattern from Fine Art Floral, and the dots from True Love (#154281).

The paper I used for photographing is the backside of the floral triangle on my card. Stampin’ Up’s designer paper is truly amazing.

Next, I glued the three papers on Whisper White Cardstock, 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″. This is the same size as the card front, and you want the 1/2″ strips to hang over the edge a bit, because the next step is to use the largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. This gives you a nice, even, stitched, edge to glue to the Blushing Bride card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“I’m thinking of you” is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set (#154421), stamped in Memento Black Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I used a Floral Gallery Die (#154316) for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals. Don’t you love the perforated edge?

The stamp set and die set are offered in the Art Gallery Bundle for a 10% savings (#156227). You’ll want to check out the entire suite (#155982) on pages 32-34 of the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.

The dots to the right and left of the sentiment are from the Swirly Frames Stamp Set, a current item in the Annual Catalog. The current supplies are in my Product List below.

True Love Heart and Dots

Today’s card is another sneak peek of the black & white, True Love Designer Paper (available January 5, 2021), which I was excited to try coloring. It started off as a circle, but morphed into a heart.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.co to go to my blog for details! Featuring: True Love Designer Paper, Stampin' Blends, Ornate Layers Dies, Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set; #truelove #hearts #heartsoncards #coloring #black&white #valentines #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #papercrafting #cardmaking #stampinup #SAB2021 #jan-june2021 #stampinup2021

Colored Heart

I used a Be Mine Stitched Die (Annual Catalog) to cut the heart, and layered it for thickness, before placing it on Dimensionals.

The first layer behind the heart is True Love Designer Paper, cut with the second largest Ornate Layers Die. Don’t you love the tiny dots? The next layer is Granny Apple Green Dots from the Brights 6″X6″ Designer Paper, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die.

The layers are glued together on a Granny Apple Green card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Stampin’ Blends make coloring fun, even intricate patterns. I used five colors: Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Pumpkin Pie. The colors are pictured in this order in my Product List below.

“Sent with Love” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, on a white space of True Love Designer Paper. I did this because True Love white isn’t an exact match with Whisper White; just being persnickety.

The striped paper I used for photographing is another pattern of True Love Designer Paper. Cool, huh? True Love Designer Paper is #154281 to add to your wish list.

A Touch Of Ink #simplestamping

If you want a watercolored look with simple stamping, A Touch Of Ink is your stamp set! Today’s hummingbird card is simple: stamps, ink, and paper.

A Touch Of Ink is a two-step stamp set, which gives it the watercolored look. There are “fill-in” stamps to use with the “outline” images, which aren’t meant to match exactly.

By Su Mohr for #simplestamping; Featuring: In Touch Of Ink; #simplestamping #saleabration2021 #watercolor #simplecards #onelayercards #watercolor #watercoloroncards #stampinup #stampinup2021 #hummingbirds #birdsoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting

Hummingbird

I began with Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and Magenta Madness Ink. I stamped the floral, “outline” image, four times on the top and left side. Then, I stamped the floral “fill-in” in Magenta Madness Ink, and stamped off (stamped on scratch paper) before stamping on the floral outlines.

The process was repeated with the leaves, using Shaded Spruce for the “outline,” and Pear Pizzazz for the “fill-in.”

While stamping the flowers and leaves, I kept in mind I needed space for the hummingbird, and I stamped its “outline” in Memento Black Ink. In retrospect, I could have stamped the hummingbird first!

Next, I used the hummingbird “fill-in” stamp to add three layers of stamped-off color: Gray Granite, Pear Pizzazz, and topped with more Gray Granite.

After stamping “hello friend” in Memento Black Ink, I glued my art piece to a Magenta Madness card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and my #simplestamping card was complete.

A Touch Of Ink (#155233) is a Sale-a-bration stamp set, which means that it’s FREE with a qualifying order, beginning January 5, 2021.

I was really lucky, because this stamp set was my Prize Patrol gift for attending #onstageathome, a Stampin’ Up! event for Demonstrators. If you’d like to be a Demonstrator also, and join my Dream Makers team, click here:
