Sand & Sea Suite For GDP273

I received the Sand & Sea Suite a few weeks ago, pre-ordered from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and I’ve been waiting to show it to you. It’s so gorgeous, and you can order it tomorrow. Yes, January 5th will finally be here!

Pearlescent Seashells

When I saw the Global Design Project colors, I knew they would be perfect for my first card using this suite.

I’m also sharing with the Paper Players.

This suite is very unique, because of its die-cutting and embossing capabilities. My entire card front was cut with one Seaside Seashell Die (#156095) from Pearlescent Specialty Paper (#154291) 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″.

Then, I embossed the entire piece with the Seashells Embossing Folder (#154309). You can line it up on the inside of the folder, then roll it through your Stampin’ Cut & Embossing Machine. Amazing!

Next, I used Light Petal Pink and Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends to color the embossed areas of the shells and seaweed.

After coloring, I glued it to a Thick Very Vanilla card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

For a touch of Night Of Navy, I stamped the sentiment “thank you” from the stamp set, Friends Are Like Seashells (#154368), and used a Stitched So Sweetly Die for cutting.

Finally, I added three of the fabulous Opal Rounds (#154291).

The entire Sand & Sea Suite Collection is #155980, which includes the numbered items above, plus Sand & Sea Designer Paper (#154288) and Seaside Shells stickers (#154290).

Happy New Year and December Winner Announcement

2021 is finally here, and one of the Darling Donkeys is excited to celebrate, and say “Happy New Year” to everyone.

“It’s all downhill”

Before I explain today’s card, I want to congratulate the winner of my December Drawing…..Yay, Janet K!  You will receive the Stampin’ Up! Card Kit and the Rise & Shine Stamp Set, plus the Gold Hoops Embellishments.

All of my customers who ordered a minimum of $50.00 will receive the Gold Hoops, plus one of my handmade cards, as soon as I receive my order from Stampin’ Up!

You can see my January gift offering below today’s card description.

Now for this Darling Donkey, who is sliding down a hill. The donkeys discovered the Curvy Dies, and have had great fun sliding down the hills. I decided to turn their idea into a card, because it brought to mind the expression, “it’s all downhill from here.” Thinking positively, I’m planning for 2021 to be an “easier” year than 2020.

Let’s talk about the background first. The card base is Smoky Slate Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Whisper White Card stock, 5 1/4″ X 4 “. Next, Peony Garden Designer Paper, in a Smoky Slate pattern (5 1/4″ X 4”), was cut with the Curvy Die to create the hill for the donkey. And, I cut a second time to create the curve at the top.

“Happy New Year” was cut from Rainbow Glimmer Paper with Word Wishes Dies, and glued in place. I used a retired star punch for the stars, for some extra pizzazz.

Isn’t this donkey adorable? I stamped him in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and colored him with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. Get ready for full disclosure……he is attached with Dimensionals, but not cut by hand.

I always buy all of my card making supplies from Stampin’ Up!, but Santa gave me a Scan N’ Cut Machine for Christmas, so I couldn’t refuse. I cut the three donkeys at the same time, and after a couple of test runs, they came out perfectly.

“Hee Haw” is from the Darling Donkeys Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, right where the donkey said I should stamp it.

Are you ready for some really good news? This stamp set is a FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set for a qualifying order of $50.00, beginning January 5, 2021.

Kick up your heels!

First, I stamped the celebrating donkey in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and colored him with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. Full disclosure on his intricate cutting will be on my January 1st blog, which made him fun to attach with Dimensionals.

The donkey is surrounded by a wreath, created with two Wreath Builder Dies. The colorful berries were cut from Berry Delightful Designer Paper.

The leaves were cut from Brushed Metallic Cardstock, and “inlaid” in Plaid Tidings Designer Paper.  In order to do this, I used the same die to cut the leaves from the plaid paper, then filled in the “holes” with the metallic die-cut. Then, I glued the circle of berries on top.

The background is a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″ with a Whisper White Cardstock layer, 4″ X 5 1/4″. The Plaid Tidings Designer Paper is 1/8″ smaller to give it a 1/16″ white border.

The word “Happy” is from the Peace & Joy Stamp Set, stamped in Rich Razzelberry Ink, cut by hand, and attached with Dimensionals. “2021” was made with Playful Alphabet Dies, Crumb Cake Cardstock, and Foam Adhesive Sheets.

Happy New Year 2021

It’s hard to believe that 2020 is coming to a close. This snowman is happy to welcome a new year, 2021.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go yo my blog for details! Featuring: Snowman Season Stamp Set, Snowman Punch, Word Wishes Dies, Playful Alphabet Dies, Winter Snow embossing; #newyearcard #2021 #holidaycards #happynewyear #snowman #snowmenoncards #snowmanseason #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup

Happy 2021

I began my New Year’s card by cutting “Happy New Year,” from Silver Foil, using Word Wishes Dies. They are layered on Thick Whisper White Cardstock for thickness, and glued to Whisper White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″) embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. The card base is Seaside Spray Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to gluing the layer to the card base, I taped a piece of Metallic Mesh Ribbon around it for sparkle. The snowdrift was created with a curvy die, glued to the bottom of the layer.

“2021” was made with Playful Alphabet Dies, Seaside Spray Cardstock, and Foam Adhesive Sheets for dimension.

Last, but not least, the snowman. I stamped him in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and used the Snowman Builder Punch for cutting. The punch includes his arms and hat, which I punched from Basic Black Cardstock, and glued in place. I touched up his carrot nose with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend, and attached him with Dimensionals.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Paper Pumpkin Alternative- December “Beary Comforting”

It’s time for another Paper Pumpkin alternative. What is Paper Pumpkin? It’s Stampin’ Up’s monthly kit that is all inclusive.

The kits come with instructions, but the supplies in the kit can go beyond the designed project, known as “Paper Pumpkin alternatives.” The card I designed for today is a Paper Pumpkin alternative from December’s kit, Beary Comforting.

Isn’t this bear adorable? She wanted to be called Happy, because she said she’d bring happiness to every home she enters.  She came from a stamp in the kit, and is a slightly smaller bear than the punch-out version that comes in the kit. The punch-out koalas that come in the kit are super cute too!

I stamped Happy in Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and colored her with Stampin Blends: Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Ivory, plus Flirty Flamingo cheeks.

Happy giggled as I fussy cut her outline, and she loved being attached with Dimensionals to Mint Macaron Cardstock. This layer was cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die (2 1/4″ X 3 1/2″).

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Beary Comforting Stamp Set, December Paper Pumpkin, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Ornate Garden Designer Paper; #friendshipcards #valentines #getwellcards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #paperpumpkin #pumpkinalternatives #decemberpaperpumpkin #bears #bearsoncards #bearycomforting

Happy “for you”

Happy asked for a floral background that would go with Mint Macaron, as well as bring out the pink in her cheeks. We found this pretty, Ornate Garden print, which I cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die, and layered it on Whisper White Cardstock, for a 1/16″ border. Then, this was glued to a Mint Macaron card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Finally, Happy wanted to hold a heart, and we found one just the right size in the Be Mine Stitched Die Set, cut from Whisper White Cardstock.  “For you” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Rococo Rose Ink, and attached with a Dimensional.

If you think you would like to receive the Paper Pumpkin Kits, or send as a gift, you have the option of subscribing for one month, three months, six months, or a year. True Love Color Challenge

Stampin’ Blends can provide hours of coloring fun, and that’s what happened with today’s card. It took about an hour to color our soon-to-be-released, black and white, True Love Designer Paper. It’s a wonderful experience, if you love coloring, but not recommended if you aren’t so inclined.

This designer paper is on page 11 in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and can be ordered January 5, 2021. The paper I used for photographing is True Love Designer Paper also.

By Su Mohr for FF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! True Love Color

My colors were determined by the color challenge at Fab Friday. I substituted Flirty Flamingo for Blushing Bride, and Old Olive for Pear Pizzazz, since I didn’t have the exact colors in Stampin’ Blends.

After cutting a 4″ X 5 1/4″ section of True Love Designer Paper, I used Light Seaside Spray to color the area around all of the flowers. I tried to keep an even movement without going over what I colored, because it gets darker the second time it’s colored.

Next, I colored the leaves; first with Light Old Olive, then the base of the leaves and some veining with Light Shaded Spruce, and a second time with Light Old Olive.

The flowers vary with shades of Light and Dark Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo, but always with the lighter shade first, followed by the darker shade, and ending with the lighter shade. I colored one flower at a time for easier blending. The centers of the flowers are Light Old Olive.

I glued my colored, True Love Designer Paper, to a Seaside Spray card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) blending with the background of the flowers.

Since I  always need thank you cards, I decided on this sentiment from the Someone Special Stamp Set. It was stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink, cut with an Ornate Frames Die from Whisper White Cardstock, and attached with Dimensionals.

Here is another card using True Love Designer Paper that I posted a few days ago. You can click on it for the details.
