Branching Out for Global Design Project

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Secret Sea. We’d love to see how you use this color combination, so please share with social media, and tag it #gdp517.

I began my design by making a stencil with a Branching Out Die; cutting the center from a square of vellum. Then, I used a Small Blending Brush and Secret Sea Ink to color several branches on Basic White Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″.

By Su Mohr for GDP517; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Branching Out Dies, A Child Is Born; #branchingout #achildisborn #stampinup #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #christmas2025 #stenciling #gdp517 #colorchallenge

Stenciled Branches

Once I was satisfied with the number of stenciled branches, I used the second largest Branching Out Die for cutting. Then, I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea Ink, and layered this on Secret Sea Cardstock, cut with the largest Branching Out Die. “O holy night” is from the A Child Is Born Stamp Set. Both layers were glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I used the same Branching Out Die, that I used for the stencil, to cut two branches from Old Olive Cardstock, and glued them in place. And, I used another Branching Out Die to cut berries from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. After adding the berries, and three, Low Profile Sparkle Dots, my card was complete.

“BOO” for Friendly Halloween Card

To see photos correctly, please click “read on blog.”

It’s time for a friendly, Halloween card, and the Choose Happy Stamp Set is not to be overlooked! First, I stamped two pumpkins in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used scissors for fussy cutting. Second, I colored them with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Third, I turned them into Jack-O-Lanterns by stamping the face (Choose Happy Stamp Set) in Memento Black Ink. Fourth, to say “BOO,” the Jack-O-Lanterns needed a “B,” which is a Mini Alphabet die-cut. I used Basic Black Cardstock with an Adhesive Sheet to give it Dimension. Fifth, I attached “BOO” to Basic White Cardstock, cut with the second smallest Textured Notes Die.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Choose Happy Stamp Set, So Swirly Embossing Folder, Textured Notes Dies, Mini Alphabet Dies; #choosehappy #texturednotes #soswirly #minialphabet #halloween #boo #tgif #handmadecards #cardmaking #pumpkins #jack-o-lantern #stampinup

“BOO”

For the background, I used the second largest Textured Notes Die to cut Gorgeous Grape Cardstock. Then, I gave it texture with the So Swirly Embossing Folder. After embossing, I rubbed it with the VersaMark Pad, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. This layer was glued to Basic Black Cardstock, cut with the largest Textured Notes Die. Both layers were glued to a Gorgeous Grape card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

As a final touch, I added three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, and my friendly Halloween card was complete.

I was inspired by TGIF.

For today’s card, I wanted to use the fabulous vine in the Beautiful Pumpkins Bundle, and I cut two from Old Olive Cardstock. That cute, little pumpkin is from the More Than Autumn Stamp Set, which I stamped in Early Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock, colored with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend, and cut with its die. I just saw that More Than Autumn was added to the “Last Chance” list; available only while supplies last, and the dies are discounted 50%.

Featuring: Beautiful Pumpkins, Peace On Earth Dies, Peaceful Greenery Embossing Folder, More Than Autumn; #beautifulpumpkins #morethanautumn #peaceonearth #peacefulgreenery #sparklingsequins #autumn #pumpkins #fall #stampinup #worldcardmakingday #wcmd

“Thankful for the small things”

The background is Basic White Cardstock, cut with a Peace On Earth Die. This is the center section of the Peaceful Greenery Embossing Folder, which I attached with Dimensionals. The Peaceful Greenery, embossed layer, 4″ X 5 1/4″, was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued the vines flat, and attached the pumpkins with Dimensionals.

“Thankful for the small things” is from the Beautiful Pumpkins Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink, used a retired die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. As a last detail, I added three, Sparkling Sequins.

The Beautiful Pumpkins Stamp Set has wonderful pumpkins that look water colored. For today’s card, I stamped the larger one in Pumpkin Pie Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used its Beautiful Pumpkins Die for cutting. The stalk was stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink, cut with its die, and glued to the top of the pumpkin. Three pieces of vine were cut from Old Olive Cardstock, and two were glued to the pumpkin; the third was used when completing the panel.

“water colored” pumpkin

The panel was created with a Textured Notes Die (2 1/4″ X 3 3/4″) and Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used the same die to cut Woven Textures Designer Paper, cut in half, and glued to the top and bottom of the white piece. This was attached to the card front with Dimensionals. The card base is Mossy Meadow, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Basic White Cardstock 4″ X 5 1/2″. The top layer is Painterly Pears Designer Paper, cut 1/8″ smaller, giving it a 1/16″ border of white.

The sentiment, “So grateful to have a friend like you,” is from the Beautiful Pumpkins Stamp Set, stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink. As a final touch, I attached three, Low Profile Sparkle Dots.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Fun Fold Christmas Card with Pears

Sound fun? I hope so!

For the first day of October, I wanted to share a Fun Fold Christmas card, featuring pears! I learned to make this Fun Fold, during “mystery stamping,” at Peggy Noe’s virtual team meeting. She gave us the instructions for this “bridge” card design, and we all selected our own cardstock, designer paper, sentiment, and decorations.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Perfectly Pears Bundle, Painterly Pears DSP, Scenic Adventure Stamp Set, Jolly Holly Stamp Set, Peppermint Embellishments; #perfectlypears #painterlypears #pears #funfolds #bridgefunfold #peppermints #handmadecards #cardmaking #stampinup

Pears on “Bridge” Fun Fold

I began by cutting Mossy Meadow Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 10, scoring, and folding, each end 2 1/4″. Then, I cut two pieces of Painterly Pears Designer Paper, 2″ X 4″, and glued them to the folded ends. This was followed by cutting Real Red Cardstock, 1 3/4″ X 3 3/4″, and gluing Painterly Pears Designer Paper to it, 1 5/8″ X 3 5/8″. The top third of this “bridge” piece was glued to the top flap, leaving the rest free. Next, I used Perfectly Pears Dies to cut two pears, and stems & leaves, from Painterly Pears Designer Paper. Then, I stamped the pears, with a Scenic Adventure tree stamp, in Mossy Meadow Ink, and Old Olive Ink.

For the inside, I cut Real Red Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and layered it with Basic White Cardstock 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″. Then, I stamped “Merry Christmas” in Real Red Ink in the open space, seen from the closed card. This sentiment is from the Jolly Holly Stamp Set. I glued one pear to the inside, beneath the bridge, and attached one pear to the top of the bridge with Dimensionals.

As a final step, I added three Peppermint embellishments.

Online photo that was my inspiration.
