What a surprise it was to have a special “little hello” from a mouse in my house. Literally! Keep reading.

Mouse Hello
Here he is; the real thing, just making himself at home on our guest room bed. Guess he thought he was a guest!

He was kind enough to stay still for picture taking, and capturing. There he remained until my husband got home to dispose of him. Long story about how he made his way into our house, but I’m confident his friends will remain outdoors.

Amazing, but I can still look at our mouse from the Special Someone Stamp Set, and think he’s cute. So, here he is, stamped in Early Espresso and Sahara Sand Inks on Sahara Sand Cardstock, and cut with his Special Day Die.

I gave him an OUTDOOR field, cut with a Friendly Silhouettes Die from Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper. This was glued to Crumb Cake Cardstock, cut with a Nature’s Thoughts Die.

The green stripe is also Peaceful Poppies DSP, adhered to a Thick Whisper White card base.
“A little hello” is from Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped in Early Espresso Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die. I like the little hole that’s part of the die, and Linen Thread fits right through it.

The theme at the Paper Players this week is “cards that make you smile.” I hope this did the trick!

You’ll still be able to find the Free As A Bird Stamp Set in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, but the Bird Ballad Designer Paper is a “Last-Chance” item. The entire list of “Last-Chance” products can be seen by following a link at the bottom of this post.

Angled Fun
I have to start off by saying, I was inspired, and challenged, by CAS(E) this sketch. After seeing the designer’s projects, I wasn’t sure how they accomplished it, but I’ll tell you how I did.

Starting with a piece of 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ Whisper White Cardstock, I layed the two patterns of Bird Ballad DSP on top, creating the angles. Then, holding each one at a time, I trimmed them about 1/4″ larger than the cardstock. After gluing them in place, close to the edge without going over, I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. There may be a more scientific way to do this, but this is how I managed. LOL
Next, I ran the entire piece through the embossing machine, using the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, and glued it to a Thick Whisper White card base.

Once I had my angles, I cut the sweet bird from another piece of Bird Balls DSP with an Ornate Frames Die. Then, I cut a second frame from Whisper White Cardstock, removed the center with a die from the set, glued the white frame on top, and raised it on Dimensionals.

“Thank you” is from the Free AS A Bird Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die. The bow is Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, which is easy to tie, even for me.

Don’t these flowers look like they were watercolored? They were simply stamped, using a stamp from the Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set!

Ornate Frames & Flowers
I began with a Thick Whisper White card base, topped with Whisper White Cardstock that I cut with an Ornate Layers Die.

The flowers were stamped in Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral Inks. My flowers needed some foliage, so I remembered leaves from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set that had the same watercolored appearance. I stamped the leaves in Coastal Cabana Ink, and cut them with their matching Leaf Punch.
I also added some Baby’s Breath, cut with a Frosted Bouquet Die from Thick Whisper White Cardstock. The First Frost Stamp Set and Frosted Bouquet Dies have been a favorite of mine. They are retiring, so get them now, while you can.

The sentiment, “Hugs Prayers Love,” is from the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set, stamped in Coastal Cabana Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die. I glued the leaves to the back of the sentiment, before adhering it with Dimensionals.
TIP: Each leaf is on a Mini-Dimensional for support.

I was inspired by the colors at TGIF.

Wow! It’s already May, and I’m excited to announce the winner of last month’s drawing for the Little Ladybug Stamp Set! Congratulations Gretchen! I’ll be sending you an email.
There’s more exciting news you won’t want to miss, so keep scrolling after today’s card instructions.
The Music From The Heart Stamp Set is retiring, and it’s included in the Last-Chance Product List you’ll find at the bottom of this post. If you love the artwork and sentiments as much as I do, order it now while it’s still available.

Musical Thanks
Today’s card began by stamping the curvy keyboard in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped five times, in a row, and used a Layering Circles Die for cutting. Next, I layered the keyboards on a circle of Lovely Lipstick Cardstock, cut with a scalloped Layering Circles Die, a spec larger.
TIP: Because the keyboard stamp is photopolymer, I was able to see through it to “eyeball” the placement.

Besides being see-through, photopolymer stamps have other good qualities. For instance, I was able to bend the stamp to conform to the shape of the circle. Before attaching the circle of keys, I stamped “just a note” in Call Me Clover Ink.

I completed the sentiment with “of thanks,” stamped in Call Me Clover Ink, and cut with a Stitched So Sweetly Die. This is a great die set that has been out of stock, but it is available now. YAY! You can see the entire set in my Product List.

For the background, I stamped the staff in Memento Black Ink, and used a Lasting Elegance Die to cut the border. I just love this border, don’t you? It lets the Call Me Clover card base peek through.

I was inspired by the Fusion challenge; the photo colors, theme, and sketch.

I’m glad Geared Up Garage is sticking around, because it’s great for masculine birthday cards.
The Geared Up Garage Stamp Set and Garage Gears Dies are listed in the “Last-Chance” Products, as a bundle. They will be in the new 2020-2021 catalog, but no longer available as a bundle. So, if you like the sets, get them now in a bundle for a 10% savings.

Geared Up
How do you like the shiny gears? I used a Champagne Foil Sheet, and a Garage Gears Die for cutting.

The background was created with the oil stain stamp from the set, stamped in Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green Inks.

I stamped the sentiment, “All geared up to celebrate,” in Memento Black Ink, and used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting.

My inspiration was from Freshly Made Sketches.

The Clubhouse Stamp Set and Golf Club Dies will be retiring June 2, and available only while supplies last. It’s one of the Last-Chance Products, and you can purchase it as a bundle for a 10% savings. The sets can also be purchased separately, and all are in my Product List below.

Greatest Guy
How do you like the golfer’s background? It’s a fun technique that I created with Acrylic Block H. I inked the block on the stamp pad, and stamped it directly on the 4″ X 5 1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock. The top color is Pool Party, followed by Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.
TIP: I cleaned the block with a Baby Wipe after each color, and covered my table top to protect it from ink going over the sides. These are things you probably know, but I can get into a creative frenzy and make a mess!

A nice open space was left for the sentiment. How convenient was that! I stamped “You’re the greatest guy by par” in Pretty Peacock Ink right on the card front. Then, I stamped it a second time on another piece of Cardstock, used a Golf Club Die for cutting, and placed it on Dimensionals.

The golfer is also in the Golf Club Die Set, and cut from Pretty Peacock Cardstock, which matches the Pretty Peacock card base. There is a stamp to give the golfer detail, but he is a solid silhouette on this card.
The final detail was his golf ball, which he hit very close to the pin!

I was inspired by Global Design Project.

In case you missed my original blog post, I want to make sure you know about my Little Ladybug Stamp Set drawing. You just might be the winner! Everyone who orders a minimum of $100.00 April 22-April 30 will be entered, and I’ll announce the winner May 1!
